Confessions from the top of my head...
* I'd only ever played the games after playing the first episode of tftb. I didn't know it was a… mores good as it was.
* After playing Borderlands 2 I became maybe a little bit.. unhealthily... kinda obsessed with Handsome Jack. Not Creepy At All X_X
* I didn't really like Lilith after BL2 and TPS, idk why I just found her annoying.
* I hope in BL3 we get to interact more with characters.
* I cried a lot in Episode 5. Partially because of what was happening and another because the series was ending.
After playing Borderlands 2 I became maybe a little bit.. unhealthily... kinda obsessed with Handsome Jack. Not Creepy At All X_X
I'm kinda too... Let's be creepy together!
I never would have played TFTB had I not been craving a TellTale game and saw 5 seconds Ray Narvaez Jr.'s stream of episode 2. I thought to myself, fuck it and even thou8gh I had never played a Borderlands game, I bought it and loved it.
* I cant feel sympathy for Loader Bot in episode 5 considering how much I hated loaders in BL2
* I would rather have a BL3 than a TFTBS2
*… more The Rhysha moments in episode 5 were forced, and i'm not even Rhyiona.
* Kroger needed more screen time
* I liked Vallory
* Scooter somehow is still alive
* I hated Lillith, she is the reason Jack is a maniac.
* I reeeeeeeeealy miss Angel
* Angel's animation is BL1 was creepy as fuck
* Booker Dewitt should have appeared in episode 5 to save the day (Get it, because Troy Baker plays Rhys and Booker. Ah, yuk, yuk, yuk ,yuk.)
* I wanted more Athena moments
* I ship Janey and Athena
* Brick is my favorite BL1 vault hunter
* I choose Zafords over Hodunks
* Jack deserved to live.

I'm so very tired of Handsome Jack, he's my favorite character but I just...can't...with some of his fans. They've ruined him for me by woobifying him.
I hated how quickly Helios fell. It should have taken an entire episode, with the help of Fiona and Sasha. I doubt stabbing one power core would bring down an entire space station. If they didn't want to waste an entire episode on this, then they shouldn't have brought it down in the first place.
Tales should have been six episodes long
I want to know what episode two was supposed to be. It looked epic.
I wish they had made Jack more evil. It seemed like that was the route they were taking initially, but then they abandoned it. He was too...sane. I guess? At least until the end, when he wanted to shove a metal skeleton into Rhys' body.
I wish Fiona had more to do. I loved the vault hunter storyline, Felix's betrayal, and her relationship with her sister. But none of them really progressed organically. I still love her and Sasha's relationship. But it wasn't touched on nearly enough.
I hated how Sasha was ready to abandon Rhys in episode 5, while Fiona was ready to wait. Sasha was closer to Rhys, she had a stronger established relationship with him. It didn't make sense.
Where the hell was Vaughn? Why the hell was this precious bean abandoned? What the fuck?
Vaughn's storyline was obviously supposed to be different.
Sasha is wonderful, although I wish her character arc wasn't so tied into Rhysha. I understood that her character arc was about her realizing not to judge people so quickly, and to let go of her anger. But, it seems to be more difficult to grasp if Rhys is a complete dick to her.
Sasha should have been there when Felix's story was resolved. That was bullshit that she wasn't. Her reaction to his betrayal was good, I just wish they hadn't have abandoned it so quickly.
I still believe that the good bye to Jack was incredible, and I am not looking forward to his inevitable resurrection later on.
Yvette ended up being lame. What a great character design that was just wasted on a lame character. She seemed great in episode one, but man...what a disappointment. She also should have gotten a redesign when we saw her at Helios' ruins.
Why was Fiona mad at Rhys? It was stupid if you rejected HJ.
I hated Jack's plan. It should have just been that Jack was rewarding a loyal Rhys by giving him what he always thought he wanted. Rhys was finally going to be Jack. And Jack needed the skeleton in his entire body so he could fully take over. There was really no need to have the robot zombie jack army. If they wanted to explain why Jack had the skeleton in the first place, they could have just said that Jack wanted to be invincible or something. But the skeleton would kill him so they abandoned the project. I mean what the hell even is that plan?
What is Rhys' chest tattoo? What the fuck is that shit?
I wish Loaderbot had stayed dead. It was the only meaningful thing that happened when Helios fell.
Nisha's death haunts me. It was so lame for such an awesome character. It was nice to hear Jack talk about her, but it wasn't good enough.
I love Vaughn's beard and manbun.
I can't comprehend why anyone would keep Jack in the end. The way Rhys mutilated himself to get away from him was terrifying. And yet, a good amount of people kept him. I think it was because most of them love Jack as a character. But after what Rhys went through to get away from him, it doesn't make sense.
Rhys' character arc is my second favorite character arc Telltale has ever presented. (After Lee). It was amazing and beautifully realized.
About Jack's plan, I could be completely wrong but in a way I believe part of the insane part comes from Nakayama's vision and interpretation of Jack's personality (according to the pre-sequel quest, he would continue to work on the AI)
Add to the mix his obsession of cloning Jack, it sort of makes sense the "put a Jack inside every dead body" translates into a sort of cloning Jack. Even if Jack was able to "review" his AI persona, it is completely feasible to have a few "hidden" imperatives lying around the AI (think Robocop's directive 4)
On Helios going down.... seems a bit of a stretch to have no redundancies around key systems, but the speed at which it was "destroyed" doesn't seem odd to me: if you add retros delta-v in the right angle (and EXPLOSIONS, decompressions, venting and probably more critical system failures) plus Pandora's gravity, it is feasible. What I think is a completely mess is the probability of Jack's office surviving mostly intact (and crashing in the same area as Rhys' pod) and the large piece of Helios that you can see while approaching the base (both are on or are the outer layer of Helios, even with "stronger" materials, it would probably had burned out)
On Loaderbot staying dead... Loaders can survive moonshot delivery (there is an optional quest in the pre-sequel), so if it was inside Helios while burning and crashing down it would survive (probably), but a meaningful apparent death it was (from a certain point of view)
I'm more troubled with the Felix-Ex-Machina clock device and Sasha's "sacrifice", the first seems out of the borderland's universe (almost a magical device) and the latter feels empty (but I understand the happy ending approach)
Man this is going to be really long isn't it?

I'd never played a Borderlands game until I tried Tales for free. I loved it immediately and bought the Season Pass just after episode 5 came out.
So then as I'm playing Episode 2, my mom of all people comes into the room, gets totally invested into the story, and watches me play the episodes over a period of a few weeks as if it were a TV show. Then she got me the Handsome Collection for my birthday, and she wants to play the Co-op.
I'm 23 years old, I feel that I should be horribly embarrassed by this.
The Jack AI is a brainscan of Handsome Jack. There's nothing in the game that suggests that it's malfunctioning, besides Jack's own personal insanity. The AI is supposed to be Handsome Jack. The skeleton and the plan were there long before Jack died. So that indicates that Handsome Jack-himself-planned to build an army of robotic zombie Jacks...with the help of Nakayama of all people. The AI even says they abandoned the project because it would have killed Jack. But it's ok to do now because now, only Rhys would die. And Jack doesn't give a flying f*** about Rhys (no matter what Tumblr says).
But, I wasn't talking about the rate at which Helios fell into Pandora. I was saying for such an iconic aspect of the Borderlands franchise it deserved to take an entire episode for Rhys, Sasha, Fiona, and Yvette (determinant) to shut Jack's control over the station off. And bring Helios crashing into Pandora. That's why I wanted tales to be 6 episodes long. I feel like they crammed too much into the last episode. (Which I still enjoyed a lot.) But that could have allowed for a better cleaned up conclusion. We could have more emotional interactions between the main four. Instead of the quick hugs and one liners.
Felix was a tinkerer, and there are health potion like things in the Borderlands universe. She wasn't dead, so it didn't resurrect her. It just healed her (which is why there were all those plus signs around her)...then it dropped her. But I will admit her death would have been the most impactful on the characters. Rhys would lose potential love and a new friend. And Fiona would have lost the one person she cared about the most. I'm glad they didn't kill her though. For one, I adore her, and I have absolutely no idea why she's hated so much. (I'm kidding about that I do, she's a meany to you for a couple of scenes in the first episode only-unless the player is a dick, she is Telltale's preferred romance option for Rhys-who was probably shipped with my mom by someone, somewhere at some point, and she's a woman but not just any woman...a woman of color too. Pretty vile hatred of a optional interracial relationship by some fans.) And two, too many pissbaby shippers on tumblr would have been happy, screw them. Sasha ftw.
I mean for Loaderbot, it could be the fact that it feels so weird to play a Telltale game where one of my favorites doesn't die. Wait! Jack died! Lmfao, and he's my all time fave. Meh, he sucks though. And I completely expected him to betray me and die. (LOL at the peeps who wanted a redemption story for him. Which is why I wanted him to seem more evil. Too many damn people thought he was genuine, when it was simple manipulation. And damn son, some kiddos need to get a clue about HJ's character, fast. He's a charming, funny, evil, irredeemable bastard. Who I love with all my heart. Fuck him.) Anyway, it is what it is. Loaderbots can be killed, though. I know I killed a shit ton in BL 2.

Okay since this threads back I'd figure I'd make another list of confessions:
I'm glad there wasn't a Rhys/Sasha or Rhys/Fiona kiss. As much as I ship Rhyiona and I'd go along with it, I'd just feel as if it would be unnecessary to me.
I'm slowly liking Handsome Jack, I'm not going to excuse the shitty things he's done but I'm slowly liking him.
Still destroyed him though.
I am disappointed that there was no Lilith.
Or no Mad Moxxi
Or no Angel Ai
When I found out who the Vault hunter was I immediately went back and spent my money.
Episode 5 is no doubt my favourite episode, I also have the credit song stuck in my head.

Roland is my favorite Vault Hunter, followed by Nisha, and then Zero.
I'm really, really bitter that Nisha and Roland are dead.
Roland reminded me of Cyborg from Teen Titans and Borderlands 1, another reason I like him.
Nisha is funny and evil, like Handsome Jack. We don't get a lot of female characters like that in media.
I loved the Borderlands comics.
The scene in this game where Jack pretty much says he doesn't blame Angel for betraying him is one of my favorite moments. This is why I like Jack so much, he is an evil megalomaniac, but he also is a tragic character.
In Borderlands 2 Jack consistently names the Vault Hunters as Angel's murderers, in this game he acknowledged that Angel committed suicide.
Nisha/Jack is my favorite Borderlands pairing.
You cannot deny that Jack was a hero in the TPS, with heroic intentions, but by Borderlands 2 he is a fallen hero not aware of how far he has fallen.
I do not blame Lilith for wanting to off Athena, I assume executing her was the plan all along. Surprised Brick was against it. It was his idea from back in Borderlands 2.
If you crush the Jack Drive, note the sadness in Rhys' eyes(or at least eye).
I enjoyed being Jack's friend, I initially chose to rule Hyperion. After going back it is easy to reject Hyperion, but I still can't bring myself to not be his best friend until then.
Are you absolutely sure that it is only a brain scan... or the timeline you suggest? The only people that could answer that for certain are writers from Gearbox and Telltale, but my logic was based on the quest you get on the pre-sequel from Nakayama himself. Some of the information given by the AI is incomplete and is given by a completely trustworthy AI persona. Of course a lot could have happened between the pre-sequel quest and the fall of Nakayama, but I'm more inclined to believe that Nakayama never abandoned the project given his obsession with Jack and that he added a few modifications trying to reach his lifelong goal: cloning and/or reviving him, and getting Jack to love him, what could be more perfect in Nakayama's eyes than a world full of Jacks
Ok, I agree on your thought of getting more Helios is coming down time, but still I'd rather complain about getting too little time than dragging the game out. But hey, maybe the "fall of Helios" (and the implications of that event) could be expanded in other forms (*cough, DLC episode *)
Jack started as an ok guy (a "hero" by Athena's word), but was already a flawed hero. He did nasty things before and he works at Hyperion - the nicest guys in the universe. But his arc went from flawed hero to madman real quick (he started to realize that after killing the Meriff). The "redemption" was not on the cards, but a lot of folks didn't know Jack/Handsome Jack story and Tales writing was good enough to fool them.
I actually wanted an evil Rhys route (actually fooling Jack into believing Rhys was just a stooge), so I did a playthrough with that Idea in mind (being an Hyperion douche all the way), and in the select executive order part I wanted Rhys to stop Jack from bombing Prosperity Junction and tell him to bomb Hollow Point instead, giving birth to Handsome Rhys, the new face of Hyperion.... but I guess Atlas Warlord Rhys could suffice...
And don't worry about Jack, I sense that if we get BL3, somehow he will be involved... the vault incident in the pre-sequel could have had more consequences than getting future knowledge and a scarred face

Every time that Cassius says Huzzah in episode 3, I do the same gesture and shout Huzzah (can't help it)
The first time I saw Fiona crawling (the Gary scene) I had some thoughts that should not be discussed, plus my opinion on Rhys was lowered by the lack of reaction on his part
I agree with Jack on one thing: Fiona is a con-artist babe
I liked Sasha's "present" look (new haircut), I didn't like her initial appearance at all. Still don't like her personality too much though.
Through all the game I wanted to press Krogger's chin button or at least get an explanation on that
I didn't like Yvette from the beginning, her attitude just rubbed me in the wrong way (and I hate lunch leeches too, so no chance for her)
I feel that Felix could be an interesting character to get to know more (Hacker, Tinkerer, Inventor, Con-Artist)
I loved Nisha's references, I'm still crushed about her ending (considering that she was my first character I played in the pre-sequel and I loved her personality, not so much her Lynchwood persona though)
I crushed the echo-eye, Jack is too dangerous in any form, and now Rhys could be free to release his evil self without any kind of interference. All hail Atlas Warlord Rhys!
I love Athena awkward conversations and moments
I can't stand Janney Springs
I hate the way Scooter was killed (He sacrificed himself for being clumsy and getting his arm caught on a stupid "chomper" panel)
A long time ago quit Telltale Forums (Jurassic Park/TWD era). I didn't even lurk around to check things, but I came back after playing Tales (probably will quit again, right now I don't see any game that interest me)
Comments
Sasha's "death" scene was almost as emotional as Lee's death in TWD.
I knew it was Vaughn almost immediately, I recognized those glorious abs anywhere.
For the past few days, I haven't been able to fully listen to either Retrograde/My Silver Lining, it's just too hard.
Gaige is amazing.
You're welcome though. Xx
