There is no news about season 3 yet, Job Stauffer who works for Telltale has stated that we will be getting some news some time after the Michonne mini series has concluded which will be at some point next year.
I'm not a Telltale staff member so i don't know when the release is planned but like i said there will be some news after the Michonne mini series has concluded so keep an eye on this thread or Telltale's Twitter, Facebook or Blog for news.
i think it would be catching up.
there was leaked code that said clem was 14 and aj was 3.
could be wrong but it wouldnt be ahead of the comics/ show. they are atleast 4 years in. carl is almost a man now!
he is 13 he was 7 in the beginning. clem is 8 in the beginning so that puts her one year older than him. the max she could be is 14. "adolescence is a modern invention" -- The Governor.
Alright so I would guess Michonne WILL have some effect on S3. And Job's last tweet also implies he kinda knows what S3 will be all about. So this means... somewhere... in some corner of this world unknown to most of us... it has already been decided... whether Clementine will be featured in S3 or not.
Yes, it's true, but with all these possible endings, I fear that TTG change of character for the future season.
I am thinking particularly Christa (it is not known if she died).
For me, this game and his story are intimately related with Clem (after I am not developer or scriptwriter) so wait and see
I remember in last year's August when I finished Episode 5 on release day.. I started checking every source of Telltale for news on Season 3. I was like "Oh my God, this is INSANE, there has to be news tomorrow" So I kept checking every day for anything Walking Dead related after S2E5. Took me weeks to calm down and stop checking every day for news. But the hype is still going strong for me, I can barely wait for S3

Well, I think it was always story about Lee AND Clementine. Even in Season 2. Yeah, Lee is gone but he still has some influence in the story, especially with Clementine. Those who played both seasons probably know what I'm talking about.
I laugh because I am like you.
I keep checking potential information on the three season. Every day, I am unable to wait and despondency the next part...
I am "zombified" by the game

Alright look, here is the deal. It would not make any sense to not have Clementine in the main TWD game series, because the thing is.... She is the main character.
It's the same as if Kirkman all of a sudden said ''Alright people Rick Grimes won't be the protagonist of TWD comics anymore. Deal with it ;D''
Unless Telltale expands the walking dead games to more than just the ''The Walking Dead'' title, which is the main, we will see other new main protagonists. For now, Clementine is the main character. She has been the main protagonist since Lee was the the protagonist in the first season, she was always the real 'hidden' protagonist. Clem has already had a longer appearance than Lee anyhow. Look at Lee as someone like Lori from the show/comics, not as the Rick Grimes.
I hope this debate wether clem is the protagonist or not can finally be put to rest.... She has too, or Telltale have done a major screw-up.
During an E3 Discussion with Greg Miller, Job Stauffer implied that Season 3 will be "a long ways off" and "considerably larger" than previous games. They currently are trying to figure out who the protagonist is, and how the story will tie into Season 2 and the Michonne Mini series. He implies to expect news about Michonne in the next 2-3 weeks, and at PAX. Meanwhile, fans can perhaps expect Season 3 news "of substance" after the end of the Michonne mini-series.
Well it seems TTG have already started making GOT season 2 from what i read and if that is true then unfortunately my worst fears are confirmed. They will make TWD season 3 at the same time as GOT season 2 and well...i can only see the quality of the game not being good again. Season 2 suffered in my opinion because they worked on more than they could handle with TWAU and season 2 and they both lacked quality.
Don't get me wrong, i loved season 2 and all games TTG make but the first walking dead season will always be the best. They put so much work into that game as i believe it was the only game they were working on at the time and everything they put into that game was just brilliant. Plenty of hubs/areas to explore, talking to plenty of characters and receiving good character development, our choices felt like they mattered more in season 1 like for example our relationship with Kenny and Lilly where as in season 2 it just never happened unless you can count the very short personality change of Bonnie towards you if you went against her in the final episode but that really didn't mean anything at all unless it had carried over several episodes. I know a few choices carried over but compared to season 1, they just felt like they hardly meant anything.
Just my opinion guys, I don't intend to offend anyone. I am just hoping that Season 3 will not let me down the way S2 did.
Thanks for reading my long post.

The change from Season 1 to Season 2 was mostly because they changed writers, not because they were working on more games at once. Likewise, things like the removal of hubs, shorter episodes, etc were deliberate changes by Telltale to make their games more cinematic, and they've since gone back to making longer episodes for Borderlands, Game of Thrones, etc. Telltale was much smaller in size when they made Season 1 (probably around 90 people, and not all were working on Walking Dead - some had been working on other projects), and now they are at 300+ people.
People nowadays say it's bad for Telltale to announce so many projects, but even around the time Telltale announced Season 1 of Walking Dead and only had like 90 people, they had even then had several projects in the works, like Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Law and Order, Walking Dead Season 1, Wolf Among Us, King's Quest (cancelled for Season 2 of Walking Dead), Puzzle Agent 2, and Hector.

That interview was about half a year ago. It's possible that they figured out the basic pillars of the story since then. Like who the protagonist is. And Job's tweet specifically implies that we should play Michonne before S3.

Sorry but TTG got bogged down in game licences. They are at 300 people now ? Wow, six years ago, they were not even 90 it seems to me !
It is true that season 2 is below the season 1 but it excellent all the same.

Spring 2016, Summer 2016 it's too early, it's not even sure that the DLC is concluded.
January 2017 it's too late, for TTG , it would be shoot yourself in the foot beacause It would be more than three years after the beginning of season two !
Maybe during the fall (October is a good month ). obviously, I hope as soon as possible !
Need a little help here from Twitter users. I just started using Twitter about a month ago and started following Telltale. The main TTG twitter page is just spamming pictures all over my frontpage, I don't like that. It's all about GoT and Tales from the Borderlands now, I never played those so I'm not interested, and literally every second tweet is a retweet with a random picture from either one of those. So I stopped following and now I'm just following Kevin and Job, will I still get the most important info about the Walking Dead? Am I gonna be okay this way?

I was thinking if I want to get into the Borderlands, then I want to start with Borderlands 1, then Borderlands 2, and then Tales from the Borderlands. Also insert the Pre-Sequel wherever it belongs in the chronology. But for this project, I have neither the money, nor the time, nor the willpower to be honest.

As long as Clementine is still a playable character I'll be happy, I can't imagine the main series without her, if only she could cross-over with comic Michonne, Rick or Carl.
You know what I find disheartening about watching playthroughs of this game? When people don't really talk to anyone, or just straight up ignore the hub sections. Yes, I know they're optional and that sometimes you are so engrossed in the story you don't want to stop and talk to people. But at the same time, there's so much character depth and insight you get from all of those small conversations.
Which got me thinking; did this have anything to do with the removal/streamlining of the hub elements in their newer games? Maybe Telltale got the wrong idea by thinking people didn't like hubs all that much because they didn't talk to characters all that much. I mean, there's no real way to prove it, but there's a potential that players gave them the wrong idea, especially since after the removal of them, pretty much everyone has wanted them back. And they have brought them back to some capacity in newer games, but it's still usually quick exchanges, with maybe one or two extended conversation trees with characters here and there. Then there's Minecraft, which as of this point, is probably the closest to TWD S1 than any of their other recent titles. There's a lot of actual hubs and optional conversations in it. Hell, the Redstonia path in episode 2 is practically one giant hub.
Which is making me think; are they planning on bringing hubs back, like they were in S1? Or are they experimenting with different ways to build character relationships without the hubs? I mean, if you break it down into basics, they're basically just 3 or 4 dialogue options that give you more insight into a character and how they think, which slowly add up over time. You could still provide all those moments without the need for hubs, the problem is writing situations where that kind of casual dialogue feels natural. Hubs provide the perfect downtime for you to just have a normal talk with characters. And in a series where the characters are always moving or doing something, it's difficult to have those kinds of conversation on the run.
This goes into another point that I've been making for so long; S3 should take place in an actual community. A stable one like Alexandria or Hilltop. Not only is there a lot of story to tell from that perspective, it also provides a means for character development and character interaction like the hub segments do. All it requires are more casual scenes, laid-back scenes, things like fixing a fence while you talk with another character, and things like that. The community setting provides the perfect opportunity for more casual, water-cooler conversation between characters, and provides situations where this type of conversation feels natural. In that setting, they could potentially- if they really wanted-- forego hubs entirely, in favor of having more one-on-one scenes with various characters while doing more ordinary stuff. Trade out hubs for more 'downtime' scenes where characters are just doing ordinary, everyday things: characters on a council discussing what to do, fixing random things around the place, driving out on a supply run, having a meeting, or just having a conversation in their house before they go to bed. The show and comics both have a lot of scenes like this. Just moments where characters discuss shit while they fix a fence, or while they're driving on a run, and other things like that. The game could do with more scenes like this.
I think it's a fair trade. You give up the interactivity of hubs, but retain all of the important character/narrative importance that the hubs currently have. In short, all you're losing is gameplay, but keeping the narrative in pretty much it's entirety. You're getting all those optional conversations you could have in S1 as actual scenes of their own between characters, rather than optional small-talk during a larger, over-arching scene. Given that Telltale has made a push for the more cinematic route in their recent titles, this seems like the next best step to take, while keeping all the good things that the gameplay was able to provide in the past (puzzles/hubs providing downtime between scenes, allowing for exploration and small-talk). Of course, it'd still be better to have a mix of both, but hey, food for thought.
In fact, now that I think about it, the Michonne series provides a good test-bed for this sort of thing. If Michonne is going to be on a boat and out on the water, that provides a lot of opportunity for conversation. Michonne and whoever else just being able to chat on a boat while they're sailing along. Of course, you can always land the boat and go on with the action, but downtime in the form of sailing out at sea would be a great opportunity to try and experiment with things.

no ... it's will be BIG game.
Clementine better get strapped up when she sees Bonnie, Mike, and Arvo. They gon learn today!
Jeez , calm the fuck down. I was making a joke. I don't see why it's necessary for you to insult my intelligence because of that.
hay.. man what is you know about season 3 release day or anything

I hope Clem will be there. If this isn't the protagonist as season two, I hope at least that it will be as a secondary character in season one.
Clementine always was hero of game like Lee.
Just not protagonist in Season One.
It's always story more about Clem than Lee.

No, it won't. I believe that some time ago Telltale stated that Michonne DLC won't affect S3 in any way.

Man when the hell will they announce that blasted mini-series?

You haven't played Tales from the Borderlands? If you ever get the chance you should try it.
I think Season 3 should have multiple protagonists INCLUDING Clementine (Or at least I'd be interested to see how it could be.)
