Choices Matter Now?

After finishing episode six and finding that our determinate brother survives and Mira also becomes determinate has given me hope. Perhaps, Telltale is upping their game and actually having determinant characters survive? I really hope that is the case. Anyways, we won't know for sure until season 2 but I really hope Telltale keeps determinant characters alive and it doesn't have to be a complete death sentence. Determinant characters dying and not becoming important are the norm for Telltale, everyone expects it and it's not a surprise anymore when it happens. Please make this a thing Telltale, let the determinant characters live!

Since season 2 is already in development, and Telltale said they have been working on season 2 all along, I actually have some hope that they'll make the storylines different depending on who you ended up with at the end of episode 6.

  • I hope so. This could be a huge step in the right direction for Telltale.

  • This has to be. Because how else can you explain Mira's storyline for example? People who let her get executed need to have a different story from now on. I hope this'll happen.

Yes, but it actually would be pretty easy to have a Mira storyline if she's still alive. Simply just don't add her story for people who let her die. Instead they should add a new character to play.

  • A few people have discussed the possibility of being able to play as the coal boy or Sera in season 2 if Mira was dead for them.

  • Yeah, I don't really like her either but I'd be willing to play as her if it meant determinant characters can live and be playable. I was sort of disappointed there was no option to swear and shout at her during episode 6 after she threw Mira under the bus though.

  • Then they die on the first episode of season 2. I would lose hope in Telltale if that actually happened lol. The brother you pick should survive to the last episode of season 2 at least.

  • I don't know why they would keep them alive in episode 6 just to kill them in the first episode of season 2.

  • Because it would save money and production time. That's the only reason they would do it, but I trust Telltale to do it right.

  • I'm hoping Telltale will actually look at the feedback they've gotten from this game, and feel they have to redeem themselves, so I hope they will take their time with season 2 and try not to make some of the mistakes they made in season 1.

  • That's what I'm worried about. I don't want them to just be killed off early in season 2. If the other brother dies it takes so much away from the sacrifice at the harbor. I would rather they take their time between episodes so they can have determinant characters survive. Anyways, we won't know for sure till season 2.

  • If telltale actually keeps determinant characters alive in season 2, I'd be very very impressed. It would be alot of work; however, it'd be so worth it and im sure they'd get alot of positive feedback from it.

  • If telltale kept determinant characters alive it would just mean even longer waiting between episodes due to different storylines that would be created.

  • No. Rodrik/ Asher will likely die in the first episode and if we see Mira again it will only be as a side characters and will see very little of her.

  • They had determinant characters alive in episode 6 and the wait wasn't too bad for what we got. I'd be happy to wait longer for better episodes.

  • Which characters were those ? I mean it would be quite difficult from story line perspective to keep a determinant character alive for an entire seasons.

  • Well the whole Rodrik/Asher thing is what I'm referring to for episode 6. They had different scenes for almost the whole episode. And the whole Duncan and Royland thing was done well too. They shouldn't need to change all that much. I mean with Mira in season 2, I would imagine that she would be trying to get back at Morgryn. But, for other players (like me) she could be dead. So, Telltale could have those players control the coal boy and he could play almost the same role as Mira in trying to get Morgryn back. Just in his case, he would be trying to avenge Mira.

Telltale said they were planning season 2 all along not working on it. Season 2 is not in development yet. They only confirmed that they will be doing another season. We knew they were doing a walking dead season 2 by the time we had played season one's 3rd episode but work on season 2 would not have begun until after the 400 days dlc was released.
So season 2 will probably be more than a year from now. Hopefully they will still make versions of the game for PS3 and 360 by then or most of us will have to buy the game again on the newer gen consoles to have season two's choices and consequences connect with season one's.

  • I think this is better now.

    • Picking brother
    • Survive or not with Mira
    • Stay or not in North Grove
    • Killing Ludd or Gryff

This is hard to magine this actions will be unimportant in future. I also have some hope for:

    • Killing or not Traitor
    • Setting alliance with Gwyn or Eleane
    • Keeping Tyrion Decree
    • Using heart of friend for blood magic
  • If every episode in season 2 takes 4-5 months like episode 6, then sorry telltale, I'm just probably gonna play episode 1 only. Seriously, I dont want the choices to matter, I'm here for the story, get it, telltale?

  • I don't know...

Rodrik and Asher play the exact same role and can keep playing it on Season 2, so I can see them surviving. Mira however, doesn't have a counterpart, so I think she will disappear either way. She isn't even in the menu after Episode 6, so I have absolutely zero hopes of Mira being playable again, or even of her being relevant in any way.

  • Re-read the interview word for word and come back afterwards. He says "it's ALREADY in development".

There is a role for Mira. She can manipulate Morgryn to go against Whitehills and kill Ludd or whoever is alive there, since it is better to control whole Ironwood than share with other house. And then run away, possibly Assasinate Morgryn, or use Beasha to kill Morgrn and sneak out sister.

  • I would love to see that (except for the the "killing Morgryn" part. I really don't want him to die), but the problem is that there is no one else to occupy that role in the saves that she is dead. TellTale would have to make these scenes for the few of us that had Mira live.

  • I think there is still hope for Mira. I would guess that in season 2, Mira would be trying to take down Morgryn. For players that lost Mira, they could play as Tom who is also trying to take down Morgryn to avenge Mira's death or something. In that situation, Mira could still be playable and most of the King's Landing scenes could be for everyone. Some people will just be playing as Tom instead.

  • I think it'll be Beshka, Talia, Roderik/Asher, Gared, and maybe the Coal Boy/Mira.

    That might be TOO determinant.

I still can't bring myself to have this kind of hope. I would expect Mira's scenes in season 2 to rely a lot on the fact that she is betrothed to Morgryn, and since he made it pretty clear she is his prisoner now, I would expect most scenes to be with him (unless she/Tom can get rid of him pretty early on the second season, but that would break my heart too). I don't want to kill him, not only because I love him to pieces but also because I do not find death a fitting punishment for someone like him. I would rather have him under Mira's heels, as I think it would be the perfect comeuppance for someone with such a large ego.

Spread rumors about him sleeping with Cersei while King Robert was still alive so he is locked up by the Faith, then offer to have him as my prisoner-husband or I let him die. Oh yes, let's do that.

I think there is still hope for Mira. I would guess that in season 2, Mira would be trying to take down Morgryn. For players that lost Mira,

  • f*ck this game...you play a lot with mira to do the right thing and have her killed
you play to have a sellswrrd army and they dont do shit, plus that motherfucking brother dies...
    the mama scene? for what??

    this plot is beyond stupid...

  • Mira doesn't die if she agrees to marry Morgryn.

The brother is still alive by the end of the episode. He is just really, REALLY hurt. Like, even if we bring him to the Citadel there might not be Maesters enough to save him.
