I kinda liked season one as well and I will almost certainly play season two, but look at it this way:
The amount of determinant characters at the end of season one is pretty large, which means a lot of additional content that has to be created. This effort could, in theory, at least partially be spent on other projects, like, I dunno, TALES FROM THE FRIGGIN' BORDERLANDS, which imo wipes the floor with GoT and then some.
