Potential plot hole in Season 6 Episode 3 of the show (Obvious Spoilers) and episode 7 spoilers too
So, I found this potential plot hole in the last episode of the walking dead and I still haven't found any reasonable explanations..
When Nicholas shoots himself, both him and Glenn fall with their feet facing the dumpster and their heads facing the walkers. However, when they cut to the scene of presumably Nick being eaten, you seen Glenn's head facing the dumpster so he could conveniently slide under and save himself.
How is this possible? The way Nicholas and Glenn fell.. it does not correspond with Glenn's head facing the dumpster. Unless there was a second dumpster, which we don't see because they're completely surrounded by walkers. And Glenn couldn't do a complete 180 before landing, could he?

:Imagines Glenn doing a backflip rocker-style into the zombies and then being crowd-surfed away: XDD
And to answer your actual question, hmm idk man. I think it's just a mistake they made during filming. To be sure, that entire scene was planned out very deliberately so that the definiteness of Glenn's death appeared to be up in the air, but I imagine they could've made a mistake in filming like that.
There was also another fail which could potentially mean that it was all Nics hallucination. When they shoot the walkers, he runs out of bullets (you can hear the weapon click twice), but when they get on top of the dumbster, he suddenly has ammo and he reloaded the weapon without doing anything.
They just are not paying attention to details that is what it looks like to me I don't think it is a big deal. I was thinking that the dumpster was on wheels or something because people were saying it looked like he could crawl under it but I watched it again and it does not look like he could fit under it to me.
I think it's a huge deal because if he crawls under that dumpster and survives that will be a pretty bad writing.
Do you understand? Because if his feet was facing the dumpster and his head was facing the walkers.. that's an entire different ballgame. There's so much he has to worry about that will make surviving nearly impossible.
You already have to suspend reality to accept zombies why not a magic dumpster and if they can do that it will be tall enough in the shot for him to get under it if they show it but I get where you are coming from if you are into the show things like that might matter. That was the first episode I have watched since the season 5 finale maybe now I will watch a few more to see what happens.
Dude I think that's just straight up sloppy writing. Nobody should accept a huge plot hole like this.
nvm
...I'm sorry, but I really don't see what you mean. I rewatched the clip here:
enter link description here
and well, they don't show the fence from 0:24 to 1:18 because the camera angle is from a lower angle--it's shot so that you can only see Nicholas's face with the sky behind him. The fence is still behind him; it's just not in the camera's shot.
I also don't know what you mean by this. The camera changes from wide-angle shots of the entire alley, to closer shots of Nicholas's face as he reacts to the walkers, to finally close-up shots of Glenn's and Nicholas's face when they're looking at each other. Maybe it appears to become more narrow but the best I think that that's probably an optical illusion? The pathway doesn't really look more narrow to me at any point in the clip.
Edit (after seeing your edit): Oh. Um never mind then...
Yeah I re-watched it again.. Still doesn't explain Glenn's head though!
Looking at it, Glenn falls sideways next to the dumpster, keep in mind its pretty wide.. so it makes sense to me at least. There's no way in hell hes getting under that dumpster, its like 2 inches high from the ground. If they say that's how he lives... its bs.
Called it. LOL
Seriously, everything about that scene in "Thank You", which was supposed to be the crowning moment of the episode, was so badly done in terms of directing it's really sad. There's the falling issue you described (the biggest one, I think), the blood splatter on Glenn's face not making much sense, the question of Nicholas running out of ammo and his magic bullet (apparently, they omitted some lines that would explain that, but not making it clear is just as bad as a genuine mistake), the really dumb mistakes that Glenn and Nicholas had to make to even get to that point which could have been easily fixed with better design of the location (zombies on the other side of the fence on the left instead of nothing at all, just as one example), and probably a few other things I'm missing.
Even though I'm able to just get over this and move on, especially since I largely enjoyed 607, there's no excusing all this, really. It's not like this is well-hidden stuff either. What a missed opportunity.
1 nick falls on glenn as dead weight 2 glenn is more pushed off the dumpster 3 glenn's ass hits the dumpster 4 feet go out ahead of him 5 Glenn slides down the face of dumpster with nick still on top of him 6 ends up with with head near dumpster.
Classic "ass over tea kettle"
(let me go all cinema sins in this piece)
I'm sure Nicholas is at least double or triple of Glenn's weight. A fall like that with no broken ribs? Ashamed, AMC. Ashamed.
And with Glenn screaming, with his neck and head exposed, walkers wouldn't bat an eye? Ashamed, AMC. Ashamed.
If Glenn somehow were able to crawl under that dumpster, pushing past that many god damn walkers? No way Glenn waited for some to thin out, Nicholas would have turned and devoured Glenn himself. A-Shamed-AMC. A-Shame-d.
I agree with everything other than Nicholas turning. He shot himself in the head....he wouldn't turn.
(Let me go all Cinemsa Sins on bigdoggs piece)
Why would you think that Nicholas is two to three times Glenns weight? He's about the same build as Glenn if not slightly bigger. He landed on his back, at the most Glenn would have gotten the wind knocked out of him. Ashamed, bigdogg. Ashamed.
Zombies DID notice him. Glenn then proceeded to kill them and use the bodies to block any others from getting to him. Ashamed, bigdogg. Ashamed.
The dumpster was to his back with no zombies blocking the way, all he had to do was pull himself in. Nicholas shot himself in the head. He ain't turning. A-Shamed-bigdogg. A-shame-d.
Wasn't Glenn the one who ran out of ammo? I don't remember seeing Nicholas clicking his gun twice. And I'm pretty sure he'd save one bullet in case he needed to... you know.
With a correct aim all he did was take out a lobe, but I do agree. Ashamed, the doge. Ashamed.
now, you cant deny nicholas being the same weight as glenn STILL not being an obstacle. glenn can hardly mantle with his own weight, but to remove someone off of his body like that, after the nasty fall? no.... no way.
Yes, I've been told about nicholas turning. I was drunk off sleep loss xD (ashamed, the doge. ashamed.)
but in all reality there is no possible way Glenn would have survived that, with a common knowledge of walkers "AI" and sense of direction, Glenn had human blood on him, correct? would a walker NOT go for blood? ._.
He never pushed the body off of him, he had to pull onto the dumpster and drag himself in.
Once again, a few walkers did go for him. He just killed them and used their bodies to block any others from getting to him.
Haha, yeah. I know the power that is sleep loss
Haha.
