So next year guys. A bit disappointing, but you know, it's alright.
I'm a bit confused though. It was always 3 episodes? Did people not know that or did I miss something today that confused people?

I don't mind waiting a little longer, I'm just curious as to why it's being moved since they usually only announce a time frame when they're certain they'll hit it.
Oooor, we could go to Telltale headquarters, kidnap somebody on their coffee break by luring them out with a decaf, and then sing Justin Bieber off key loudly until they crack and tell us all they know =D
Also guys, Pierre Shorette, Mark Darin, Nicole Martinez... that's one hell of a writing team

Yeah. I bet you they were originally trying to get it in time before the holiday season, so people could buy it as gifts and stuff, but I guess that's not gonna happen now. Maybe pre-orders will be available by that time though? I'm not sure how pre-orders work with Telltale usually but, I guess we'll see.
Preorders can either be months away from the release date (The Walking Dead Season 2) or weeks away (Tales from the Borderlands, Minecraft Story mode, Game of Thrones). Since it's a stand alone release now I think we could expect preorders as early as next week.

I know others are a bit upset, but I'm actually kind of happy that it's being put off until next year. I got finals coming up in the next two weeks, so this lets me focus entirely on school work now, so thanks Telltale.
I could be wrong, but i'm kinda putting two and two together with the fact that Shorette was present during The Interactive Story panel earlier this year and they are both flying out to the game awards tonight.
Well both Darin and Shorette, as well as Nick Herman, were the main people behind Tales From the Borderlands, which is nominated for Best Narrative, so maybe that's why they're flying out. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they were involved with Michonne, considering their past experience with TWD (Darin was a writer and designer for both seasons and Shorette wrote In Harms Way and co-wrote No Going Back in S2). It would make sense, but I think it's more for TFTBL.

Actually, I think 2016's going to be pretty crowded even without Season 3.
We have Super Show, Michonne, and very likely Game of Thrones: Season 2 all premiering next year. I'd have normally expected Season 3 to come in 2016, but Job's tweet that hinted at the Game of Thrones: Season 2 reveal said that their 2016 schedule was looking a lot like a TV schedule, and that was before Michonne was revealed today to have been delayed until early next year. We usually get two game premieres a year, and with Michonne joining Super Show and (possibly) Game of Thrones: Season 2, I don't think that leaves a lot of room for Walking Dead: Season 3 - which is surprising as Season 3 of Walking Dead was announced a good while before Season 2 of Thrones.

Actually, during one of Job's earlier teasers this week, Job did say in response to a user's tweet that we would get release date information this week.

After a 10 second clip of Michonne saying something badass
"The Walking Dead Michonne a Telltale (half an episode) teeny series Premiere's Late 2016! look out for more news in the Future :-)".
Wait... maybe it was. I hadn't made that connection. Awww.
Assuming that's not the case, maybe we'll get some minor elaboration during the show, such as "Expect the premiere in January!" or something to that extent.

Comments
It's becoming a stand alone title that does not require Season 2 to work so I guess some thought it might get more episodes.
The recent logo took off the Mini Series heading, so people assumed (me included...) that they would announce 5 episodes.
Ah. That makes sense. How do you feel about the delay?
#J5hype
Goddamn I was looking forward to more TWD before the holidays

No Season 2 required?
That's great news!
It is, I think? Although I'd be surprised if someone didn't have Season 2 and played this.
Would make sense as they were the main people behind Tales From the Borderlands
You come up with the best plans, has anyone every told you that.
I know that Nicole Martinez has said she would be writing for this, but where have they ever said Darin and Shorette were involved with it?

Cool, thanks for the info.
Nope ^.^ better say it again, once more with feeling!

Don't push it.
we are getting a release date tonight + full trailer

We don't exactly know what we are getting, just that there will be some news about Michonne.
Going off this forum for the night as it releases at 2am in England
forum when I wake up tomorrow:
They could also be there on behalf of games they already wrote that were nominated, like Borderlands or Thrones.
Ah, good point, especially as Nick Herman is with them too. Still, that would be insane if they did work on it. An episode each... ooof!

Hopefully that wasn't the "It's not coming out this month". tweet
Oh, okay then, never mind. I'm just going to hide in my Box of Shame now.
Replace "10 second clip" with a 7 second Vine and "more news in the Future" with "more news next month!" and it'll be perfect. :P
Now I want Telltale to make a teeny series because that sounds adorable.
Wait... maybe it was. I hadn't made that connection. Awww.

When does it start? (how many hours until?)
That's telling us when it won't release, not when it will release
Less than 3 hours from Now
Kinda figured it would be stand alone, why release a Dlc for a game that's running on a Telltale's 2013 engine
OzzyUK posted a link to a countdown that you can find on the main post. It's under "Game Awards time information."
It would've ran on an updated engine like 400 days.
Yeah, me too. I have thesises next week, Telltale should not get my attention
I dunno, I can see comic book fans playing it just because it's about Michonne.
Job also said it was going to release in Fall :P
