So, anyone else thinks these episodes will be released closer to each other than we're used to from Telltale? It's just the word "event" tha… moret makes me think so. Idk, I just got this feeling. It'd also explain why it got delayed, maybe they are working on all episodes at once?
Question: So if Michonne is no long a mini-series but a stand alone story, doesn't that officially make it the 3rd Walking Season? So doesn't that make Season 3 not officially Season 4??? O_O Either that, or are we treating Michonne like NCIS: LA; it's a spin-off/new series?
I know what the answer is. I'm just trying to start nonsense. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It's fun reading Youtube comments with people saying "Where's Season 3?" or "What happened to Clem?" or "Is this Season 3?" Seriously people… more, is this the first time you're hearing about this or hearing about the character Michonne, come on. Seriously, I think I read a comment where someone asked if Michonne was an older Clementine, I'm not even joking.
And some people say making more than one game don't affect the other. They said: Later this year. Now, it's for February. Yeah.
It w… moreasn't confirmed that multiple games was the cause of this. Job said they held back the episodes to tighten them up. EDIT: Actually, it was revealed the delay was to allow for quicker episode releases placed closer together.
Also, considering you basically pulled that out of the blue, it seems a bit unnecessary to bring Minecraft into this since it's just going to start drama. This post just seems like an excuse to rag on Telltale's Minecraft game.
Well, I have some bad news. TheGirlFromAus will not know who Michonne is, I know this because when she played P.T. Silent Hills, she did not regonize Norman Reedus (The man who plays Daryl) at the end of the game. If she didn't watch the show, I'm sure she didn't read the comics as well. Just letting you know.

I know, that's business, but it was a really low move to not just tell people that they didn't require Season 2.
It was originally meant to be a DLC for S2, but they recently decided to make it standalone. It's not intentional misdirection, it's just an unforeseen and unexpected change of plans.
You know what, I'm fine with this. If being a Telltale fan has taught me anything, it's patience. I had two great games to carry me through … more2015, and I didn't even realise that it had been so long since Season 2. I honestly didn't really care anymore because Season 2 wasn't exactly a masterpiece, and I kind of lost interest in TWD because I liked (and still do) Tales and GoT better than all TWD games by Telltale.
However, because these two games were so damn good, it kind of restored my faith in TWD. The mini series has actually sparked my interest now, and I look forward to slay some walkers like a boss!
The only thing that really bothers me about all this is Telltale's complete radio silence. Something like this doesn't just randomly jump in your face, it must have been known for months, at least a few weeks. Why not just tell the fans? I also don't even want to know how many people bought Season 2 just because they thought they had t… [view original content]
February 2016. HA!!! I KNEW IT!!! For all those who kept dissing me saying I was full of it - eat your words dudes. We probably wont even see season 3 until 2017. They went from October, to December to February. What a bust.

Seems like the delay was for the game to have a quicker release schedule af… moreter all:
So here’s what’s awesome about this:
1) Samira Wiley! If you watch Orange is the New Black, you know why!
2) The game is no longer being called a Miniseries. Looking at where the game is right now, and the epicness and scale of the design and story, “miniseries” was not fitting. As such, the game will NOT require that Telltale’s The Walking Dead Season 2 be installed.
3) February release date. We bumped this a TINY bit but this allows the game to get even bigger and better and for all three installments to hit on a tight schedule.
BONUS) It gives us an excuse to spotlight our Michonne products! Hit this up for a Michonne shop with almost everything on sale!
I updated the main post to reflect this. In other words, we might get quick releases for Michonne like what Telltale is currently doing for Minecraft: Story Mode.
Holy shit! The trailer totally makes up for it being late. Not only that, but making it(officially) a stand alone(which it should be) makes it more awesome. Also, I like the sound of this "tight schedule".
One more thing. I love how Telltale are taking their time on things. Between this, and the "larger", S3 around the corner, I am straight up giddy for any type of news regarding both games. I know for a fact my heart's going to be racing, caused by excitement, when I play the first scene of TWD:Michonne. But I'm only pretty sure that I'll pass out(from excitement) when it's time for a S3 trailer.
It's going to be really really really long time until we'll see even a short teaser for S3. With all of those games they announced recently it may even show up next August or September.

February? That's ridiculous. Now I'm not a fan of this Michonne rubbish, but obviously the longer it takes for that mini series to conclude, the longer we will have to wait for the real deal to be released.
Going on a February release, it probably won't be finished until October. That means Season Three won't be released until at least 2017, if at all.

Job said they held the first episode back slightly as they are going to release the episodes on a tighter schedule, that likely means they are planning on releasing the episodes closer together so they will finish the game sooner.
We obviously don't know anything about season 3 yet but they have said in the past that we would get season 3 news when the Michonne game has concluded which will probably be by late spring or early summer at a guess.

I am aware, and have zero problem with that. I'm just saying once the S3 trailer does come out(whenever that may be), it'll be hard to contain my excitement, if a certain someone is confirmed.

Oh my god imagine weekly episodes. That would be pretty cool and would fit with the whole "event" thing. Only draw back would be no "live development."
The Walking Dead: Michonne was originally announce way back in the summer as a three episode mini-series focusing on the character of Michonne from The Walking Dead. Episode 1 was originally planned to be released around now and was a pseudo-DLC as you needed ep 1 of Season 2 downloaded to play it. This past Friday however, at the Game Awards, it was announced that the game was now completely stand-alone from Season 2 and was delayed until February for a "tighter release schedule". This means the wait times between episodes will likely be quite shorter than most telltale games and similar to MC:SM's release schedule. The trailer for the series can be seen at the top of the thread. I hope I could help
I know you're right, its just that ive been expecting TWD Michonne this month, and to hear that it is delayed, it made me kinda bummed. It makes me wonder if TWD season 3 will be released much later.
Comments
I think TellTale has learned that December releases are not their strongest asset.
yep! 100% confirmed

They never hinted it was coming in October, though...
Michonne must be short for Clementine, lol
The hype is real
Very excited for this. Rereading The Walking Dead comics right now to get a refresher on Michonne's character.
What does a 'tight schedule' mean? Like, they'll be crapping the episodes out as fast as MC Story Mode?
Not so excited about the DLC ... but I still see.

Jesus Fucking Christ. Whatever happened to late fall?

So are they meaning with tight schedule that the Episodes should come in good pace? Because then I'm fine with waiting all the way to February.
LMAO
Blind Sniper, OzzyUK would u rather fight a hundred chicken-sized zombies, or ten zombie-sized chickens? lol
This is off topic from the Michonne game but i would fight 10 zombie sized chickens :P

I'll already have failed my exams by that time, so it's way too late for me..
Just started reading the comics so I won't be lost in the game. Damn, they're pretty good.
Fav parts of the reveal trailer
Guys, what if while we're sailing we come across Kenny's boat with a dead Vernon on it
Oh my god imagine weekly episodes. That would be pretty cool and would fit with the whole "event" thing. Only draw back would be no "live development."
Ok so I'm completely lost. Can anyone please tell me what do we know by now about this DLC and any trailer links or something like that?
Thank you
Now February is the walking dead mouth for the gane and show

Ditto!
They delayed the first episode so they could have quicker releases for future episodes, as well as general polishing.
Y'know, I'm kinda glad it got delayed. Means it can have better quality!
"Tight Schedule" yeah right. Mostly busy on Minecraft. -_-
Pffffff...Minecraft is going to be finished by February.
They have different teams working on each game, so Minecraft: Story Mode doesn't affect release time of The Walking Dead or any other game in any way.
