If Carver Adopted Clementine?
How a part of me wishes Season 2 ended:
Somehow I think Clementine would have been better off under the tutelage of the sociopath Carver, rather than sticking with the train wreck that was the Cabin Group. I also wish the game had focused more on Clementine's internal struggles with her humanity, as she had evolved quite a bit from the innocent and naive little girl we met in Season 1.
I was always interested with Clem's interaction with Carver, and his 'We're Not So Different' speech with her fascinated me. Was Clementine actually more alike to Carver than she realized? More importantly, if she sided with him, if she rejected the escape plan with the cabin group, perhaps the warehouse would still be standing without a zombie horde and Clem might have gotten groomed by Carver to one day become his successor?

Umm , since Carver probably raped Rebecca and is a dangerous psychopath , i'm going to have to respectfully disagree.
I don't think that Clementine was Carver's pal or student despite his speech that they were similar. She didn't really get any special treatment from him when she was his prisoner and he made it clear that she had to toe the line like everyone else.
One thing that did fascinate me though is a scene when Carver shows up at the house Clementine was staying. The scene where he gets the knife first, no matter whether you go for it or not and basically gives it back. At the time, I thought that was a sign of trust between the two, like he knew Clementine wasn't gonna try and take it again and Clementine didn't feel threatened enough to try and grab it again. However the way things played out later on, that clearly wasn't the case.
Carver and the place were probably too dangerous for Clementine to survive there for the long term in my opinion.
Without a doubt, Carver gave Clementine special treatment. But ... he picked her up with one hand and threatened to shoot her head! This little girl! Carver is a psychopath, Clementine does not seem to like him!
That's assuming Carver actually cared about her to any degree, and didn't want to just brainwash her into acting as an heir to his throne
He's more or less a despotic, megalomaniacal social darwinist with sociopathic tendencies
If she actually fell under Carver's spell, she wouldn't be evolving from that naive little girl from S1, she'd be proving that she still is that naive little girl, if not somehow more naive than she was in S1
I have no interest in seeing Clem as a pyschopath in training.
=
I don't know why people are saying its bad. Its not like she wasn't any better. The way the wrote her for season two. She was cold and a brat regardless. Clementine was suppose to be the innocent girl we have to protect. Then they just made her into cold asshole.
this abuse child ..
IMO there are certain playthroughs where Clem proves Carver right (not mine though!)
I don't think rape is implied, sounds more like a consensual hookup.
What kind of choices would those be?
This is something I'd never forgive.
Nice pic
My Clem was a sweetheart. I dont know about yours.
When I said "proves Carver right" I mean when he states that they're alike.
I'm refferring to the choice where you can watch Kenny kill him.
That's special treatment, alright. Rebecca looked jealous.
On a serious note, what the hell Carver.
To be honest, growing up in that world, there's a good chance Clem is gonna become a monster.
That could be interesting to be honest. It would make the series have a darker tone. But it should be determinant or something, since my Clementine refused to be like Carver.
How does it feel to be like the majority of society who judges someone without knowing them? Well done. No, what I as referring to was that they changed clementine was being innocent to being cold. Trying to manipulate people. Not caring that close people in her life have been killed. Treating others like crap. Could've been avoided if she wasn't made the playable character but that's life.
Maybe they should kill her off or not have her in season 3. Then the clem army can finally shut up for once.
That would've been great, considering my Clementine was a scumbag. I made her do all the bad decisions!
I doubt there would be any major change in Clementine's character.
Um , it's up to the player whether Clem is manipulative or not.
(Unless you're referring to the stitches; but COME ON , she'd been mauled by a dog and lost a lot of blood.)
That would be a super dark ending to season 2, mostly because that means Carver would have had to kill everyone she knew before hand aka the cabin group.
You do remember that nicks mum got bit. How can you take someone's word let a lone a little girl ? Also, she manipulates Sarah Into helping her and then Sarah gets in strife for it.
I for one have no idea what your talking about. I don't see how she's "cold" and a "brat". She's basically just there.
You're a Clementine fan, naturally you're going to disagree with me. Season one she was an nice innocent girl who needed to be protected and was nice to everyone. Season two, She's manipulative, cold and a prick at times. Clementines character is suppose to be joy and always pure hence Lee's quote "Clementine's one of the only good things left in the world". Why turn her into the opposite of what she was? It would never of happened had they not made her the playable character.
Your right, I do like Clem. But that won't stop me from stating facts. I don't see how she was a "prick" or "cold". In fact, she barley had any development to even be considered these things.
dark and interesting
Reads title
Oh lawd...
Why call Carver a sociopath?
All he did was protect his people and tried to condone the whole Survival of the Fittest shit, hence why he killed Reggie (calling him a liability). And Clem really isn't much different seeing what she's doing in Season 2. From a sweet, innocent girl to a cold, blood-thirsty killer. She's nothing like she was and is very similar to Carver.
They left an eleven year old in a shed to die. And Sarah could have said no.
....
Well , Carver kidnapped a group of people who clearly didn't want to go with him. He made Carlos hit his daughter across the face. He beat Allen to death and attempted to keep a baby that may or may not have been a product of him sexually assaulting Rebecca.
Other than that , he's a swell guy.
Doesn't give him an excuse to play Darwin :P
Don't be a hypocrite. When people said that Sarah was to blame for things, people like you said "she has a disability, her father sheltered her. Blah blah blah", but now when clementine is in the wrong, you say Sarah could've said no? sarah barely knew right from wrong, what she thought she was doing was helping a friend, when all clementine did was use and manipulate Sarah. And as. I said, nicks mum got bit, how could they take the chance and leave her in the house if she actually got bit and turned?
Manipulation, not caring about how other people would be in strife as long as it suited her. You can't honestly tell me she has the same personality in both seasons. It's just lucky she's so popular, because if it was duck or Ben, they'd be grilled for being assholes or useless.
I never said she had the same personality in both seasons. She had no personality at all in season 2, so I don't see how she's manipulative.
Why would he? Clementine hates him
