Possible foreshadowing or a crazy coincidence?

So I was bored and was curious if Clementine's nickname "Clem" is a real word. This is what I found.

Especially considering Episode 5.....

It's not much of a coincidence, I think it's just confirmation bias. I'm from England and I've never noticed anyone say that word before, so they'd have had to have researched extremely obscure potential readings of a nickname of their character and it's just like...it's just a nickname?

All names mean something originally and if you try hard enough you can make any name relevant to their character.

Say if I took 'Harry' from Harry potter - this name means 'Home or house ruler' - is this foreshadowing that Harry would become owner of Grimmauld place?

Or 'Nick' from the Great Gatsby - this name means 'Lord' - foreshadowing of Nick's consideration of class struggles and the role of the elite in 20th century America?

Tl:dr - not really, sorry. It's not even a coincidence due to confirmation bias meaning any definition would have caused people to read it into her character :P

Lol you're probably right. Though actually J.K. Rowling is known to be a big fan of unique names (she says she loves to "collect" names and their meanings lol to use in her stories) so you never know. :p

Personally I like to think that Clem's parents named her after "clemency:"

Or, who knows, maybe they named her after itty bitty oranges. XD

  • Ok. that's a good one.

  • But I never said the meaning of Clementine, which I already know.

    Or... fruit.

  • What about Roberto Clemente? I mean he is a baseball player and the hat from my other thread... :>

  • Yeah, I know. I just wanted the excuse to say fruit with relevancy.

Clementine is a fruit. People eat fruit, zombies eat people. Clementine = Fruit.
Clementine is kill xdd S3 confirmed.

  • This foreshadows that Clem likes fruit so enjoys the apple the most in Starved for Help, obviously.

    Or... fruit.

  • Could be since it's almost red. Like the jacket she wears if you give it to her in Episode 3.

  • This explains a lot actually

  • Blood is also red and she bleeds from the dog bite in season 2. Coincidence?
