About TWD Michonne series

I'm not a comic reader so can someone tell me what happens in the comics during this timeline, because maybe then I won't be so confused while playing the game.

Issue 126 is the end of the war with Negan and the Saviors. After that, in issue #127, there is a two year time skip in the comics, and at some point during those two years, Michonne decides to leave and doesn't reappear again until issue #139. As this will focus on Michonne, I doubt it will focus a lot, or at all, on what was going on in the comics at this time, which involves the introduction of a group known as The Whisperers. It will most likely explain her reasons for leaving, which hasn't been discussed in the comics, so I don't think there will be a lot of major spoilers for those who haven't read the comics. It may use some comic characters, like maybe Ezekiel, who she was in a romantic relationship with in the comics, but that will probably be it as far as I can see.

It is used in the comics, but very briefly. It's used in the cover page of Issue #139.
It is also seen when Michonne is reintroduced in the comics.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how badass Michonne looks in her pirate suit? I just got to finish Issue 139 yesterday. I love Michonne so much.
