Something Positive

edited December 2015 in The Walking Dead

Well here we are. It's almost 2016, it's been two years ever since All That Remains was released. Time literally flies by. After reading some of these comments in the forums, I notice a lot of negativity towards season 2. Listen I'm not a giant supporter of season 2 either but, it's the new year soon, and let's all just think positive for a moment. Season 2 was a lot of things, but it had its good moments. For once let's just all say at least ONE thing we liked about season 2. Put all that hate for it behind your heads and just think about something you liked about it. One thing I liked was the different variations you get with going with Mike and Bonnie, Jane, Rebecca and Kenny, or even Sarah in Amid The Ruins. It was cool exploring the museum. Now it's your turn.

  • I....I....

    The first two episodes!

They were so gorgeous, they break me.

  • I loved All That Remains and A House Divided too! Few things I was iffy about for AHD but the positives outweigh the negatives for that episode. I loved the development and focus on the cabin survivors.

  • I love that scene in Episode 5, when we got to speak to Lee Again. It was emotionally and I almost cried.

  • Can I say more than one?

    1. I loved playing as Clementine, it offered a new perspective to the zombie apocalypse that we don't often see in the genre and it made me grow more attached to her character. In fact, I even enjoyed playing as her more than I did Lee.
    2. Carver was a great villain, definitely one of my favorites from TWD as a whole. Brilliantly performed by Michael Madsen, I found him an interesting and well written character, and his methods and beliefs fit what kind of person this world can turn someone into.
    3. While on the topic, he and Clem's conversation in his office is one of my favorite moments from the Season, his words left a huge impact on me and him saying they were more alike than she thought did influence a lot of my future decisions in the game.
    4. In Harms Way is a great episode, as is No Going Back (my overall 2nd favorite from the series)
    5. I liked Luke's death (well, the one where you go and help him at least), I found it a nice send off for his character.
    6. Kenny and Jane was much better than Kenny and Luke and was a much harder decision for me to make. In fact, it's the hardest decision I ever had to make in the game (both seasons).
    7. Kenny coming back gave us a great forum joke (now we hope every character got "lucky, real lucky" and comes back with a beard).
    8. Season 2 had multiple endings that can play a huge role in Season 3. Say what you will about the choices, but doing this could be great for the series and Telltale. Telltale is always getting shit on for the choices in their games, and despite the improvements with games like TFTBL, GOT, and even Minecraft, they still get a lot of flak. Season 3 could be great when it comes to the impact of choices, more specifically, our endings. I'm not expecting completely varying stories, but we can definitely see huge changes in the episodes and possibly the survival of determinant characters. There's a lot of potential with these multiple endings.
  • Say as many things as you want! Lol. I liked In Harms Way. If they added a huge hub area to explore then I would've liked it even more. It wasn't bad.

  • Yeah that's really my only complaint with the episode is that we didn't really get a chance to explore and look around. We had the chance in the pen and then in the comic book store, and that was it. It's understandable, considering everything that had to be put into the episode in such a little amount of time, but I do wish there was more. If they allowed the episode to be just another half hour longer, allowing the writers more freedom to include more exploration while still fitting in everything that needs to be in the episode, it would have been even better.

  • Uhhh we got to see Lee again in ep 5?

    That was emotional for me.

  • Yeah, time constraints was a really big problem for S2. If they had more time, I believe S2 would've been amazing.

  • Kenny and Jane both dying

  • I didnt hate it, I just didnt like the direction it went in. I loved having Clementine as the heroine, I just wanted more focus on her.

  • Agreed.
