Maybe not exactly leader, because it's most likely that someone from Wellington, OH is the leader, but perhaps they have some sort of council in which she decided to participate.
As much as I like Molly and would want to see more of her, her role has been fulfilled in the game. Bringing her back just wouldn't seem rig… moreht and a little forced. Lilly, however, with Wellington existing and all, I think having her return as the leader of Wellington (consider her leadership trait) would fit perfectly.
I don't think where people are from is really an issue in leading a community in the apocalypse. It could be that the original leader died and Lilly was the one to take over, maybe because her and the leader were close and Lilly knew how to run the community.

It would be heartbreaking to find out that the former leader of Wellington was a kind and honest man in his 50's who Lilly spent time with, and gradually attached to… and then an anticlimactic, Telltale-style death hit him. Yup, he's dead now.

I was looking online for proof & I found a video about all deaths & seen what you're talking about but I remember seeing her die in one of my saves maybe they updated or changed it or I'm the only person in the world that seen the molly death scene....O_o nah, I'm going to guess I'm just remembering it wrong
She doesn't die, she runs off with a bullet in her arm (or not, if you didn't shoot). I'm going to assume that with her survival skills, she made it out of there.

I thought she got bit or shot in the head but I kind of want to go back and replay it cause I'm starting to feel a little crazy lol it has been awile
