Mandella Effect Infecting the Walking Dead Games?

Anyone here remember being able to kill Jane After Kenny dies? What about Shooting Mike during the truck scene? Now I'm not saying I believe in "time slips" but much like Lee:"I know what I saw!" Anyone remember these because they can't be done now! Feel free to leave a few examples of others I missed and any reasonable explanations. Nope not creepy at all! Thx !!!

Well, firstly, you were never able to kill Jane. There is nothing in the game files that even suggests you were ever able to kill Jane, and if there were, they would have had to have been edited out only days after release, because the last update to the game's content (at least on the PC version) was about 4-5 days after the episode's original release. There was an alternative version of the scene where Jane was choking Kenny out instead of him trying to stab her, but killing Jane afterwards wasn't an option in that version, either.

Shooting Mike existed, and still exists in the game files; the texture for him with a gunshot wound, the animations of him getting shot, the voice lines referencing him getting shot, and videos/playthroughs made before it was patched out showing people shooting Mike. Unlike the proposal of the mandela effect, there is clear-cut evidence that points to the existence of it in the first place, not just seemingly false memories with no real proof or sources.

  • I'm so glad you made this thread because I actually have a bit of a Mandela effect for this game, too! I've been wanting to do it myself, but I've always been too scared/forgetful to do it. For me, it was in Around Every Corner when Clem goes missing the first time/hiding in the shed. When Lee finds Kenny and Ben and when it gets to the part where Kenny offers Ben some booze there used to be an option to let Ben drink or to deny him, but it's not there anymore! I know I saw it, too.

I don't remember being able to kill Jane after Kenny dies, sorry (but then again I had Kenny kill Jane and I've only played season 2 once). I know shooting Mike is an actual confirmed legit thing that happened, but not anymore because TTG changed it at, like, the last second. enter link description here

  • Well, aleast this proves I'm only half crazy! Thx for shareing. Thing is I really remember being able too shoot Jane! Jane's line was "Your a tough nut kid , did nt think you'd... then Jane leans against the car where AJ was and the choice to abandon/stay with Jane Appeared. So really it was a flesh wound scene that added nothing but a vengeful side to Clems character! But with so many seemingly pointless acts why remove just that? Must have merged the shooting Mike scene with the Jane/stay with abandon her ending! Just glad the Mike thing happened feel much better! again thanks CandySquared.

  • Meant to thank Delltino, but forgot Memory such a tricky thing! lol

You have never been able to shoot Jane so you might be misremembering something, the option to shoot Mike only happened briefly on the Playstation 3 version of the game until they patched it and it was only able to happen with a modified PC version.

  • I don't remember killing Jane, but I do remember Mike. It was supposed to be a scene they were going to include, but it got scrapped. They left it in at one point, but it later got patched out, supposedly.

  • Thx OzzyUK not to argue but, I own the 360 version and have never owned PS3/Computer version. I played each episode as they launched in USA! I don't watch lets plays till I've played said game. Could you source these facts for me? Being serious not trolling. Its disturbing to remember crap that did'nt happen! Why would PS3 get to shoot mike and not 360? Now I'm just lost!

I can only go by what people said on here at the time, the only people who reported being able to shoot Mike where PS3 users. Telltale most likely planned to give people the option to shoot Mike during production but changed their plans and forgot to remove it on the PS3 version which was quickly patched when they realised they left it in the game.

  • I can see why that was scrapped. Clem straight up murders someone.

  • Your a tough nut kid , did nt think you'd...

At one point, Nate said "you're a tough little nut, Russ. Didn't think you would," and although I watched a couple of playthroughs to find the exact line, it was in vain. So you could be mixing up some lines, and that could be causing you to think that Jane said it, when she didn't.

Plot twist: Wait a second, if I can't find Nate delivering that line, does that mean that I am going through the Mandela effect? (Just kidding.)

  • Yeah now that you mention it, I did bing on 400 days between S2 release dates! Logic for the win thx!

  • No problem!

You know, after you mentioned the Mandela effect (yesterday), it sound interesting, so I looked it up and found a subreddit about it — I'm never looking at anything the same way, ever again.

  • Yes, I saw in the video that there wasn't even an option like [SHOOT MIKE], and that would not affect the story enought to make it worth Clem looking like a murderer ( since they just got away )
