TWD game character political views?

edited March 2016 in The Walking Dead

In an effort to try to bring something brand new to the table, I thought it be kinda interesting to hear what political view you think various characters in the game held before the outbreak?

I see Lee as being a Libertarian. He just strikes me as being a guy who for the most part doesn't give a shit about how other lived their lives, as long as they don't harm others.

I see Kenny as being a Republican, particularly a social conservative. He believes strongly in family, and in staying honest with others in the group - as he pointed out to Lee in the RV when Duck was bit. As regards him and Walter, Kenny might not have approved of him and his boyfriend - but was smart enough not to open his mouth, seeing as he and Sarita were guests of theirs.

I can see both Omid and Christa being Liberals, as they hail from California - one of the most Liberal states in the USA.

I can see Carly being a Libertarian, like Lee. I don't see Carly as really caring all that much about politics, but I do see her as someone who believes in the Bill Of Rights - especially the 2nd Amendment - since she carried a sidearm before the outbreak.

I see Lily and Larry as being Republicans. I see both of them as being staunch Republicans, and knowing Larry "Not giving a flying fuck", about anyone else's opinion but his own. But he still manages to have "charm coming out of his ass".

Added Content:

I see Chuck as being A-political. I don't see Chuck as caring anything about politics. I see him as seeing it as nothing but a stupid game.

I see Pete as being a Republican, since he also believes strongly in family.

I see Luke as a Libertarian, as I also do Nick.

Jane as a far left Liberal.

  • I can definitely see Kenny voting for Trump.

  • so would larry.

I can definitely see Kenny voting for Trump.

  • I do agree that Kenny, Lilly and Larry were most likely Republicans, and it's curious that they were propelling most of the arguments, despite having a similar political view, which should cause them to think about some issues similarly, at least.

By the way, why do you describe Lilly and Larry as "staunch" Republicans, and Kenny as a family-man and honest-type Republican? I appreciate the intent of proposing a different topic of discussion, though.

  • Yeah, I figured that every discussion about the walking dead has been talked to death. So the only thing that I could think of to add something new to the discussion table, was to do this.

  • I remember Kenny saying that he didn't really care about politics and the best part of the apocalypse is not having to worry about that shit. Funny enough I vaguely remember that Lee can say words to similar effect early on in the game. Larry would have voted for Trump for sure.

  • I considered Lily as a Stalinist because of the way she redistributed the food rations and the way she enforced the group (example:forcing ben to confess of stealing without a fair trial, shooting Carley).

    .

  • I don't remember Lee saying anything like that? Could you post a video clip of where he says this? Thanks!

To be fair, Lilly was the one who tried to get everyone to vote. If that's not the closest thing to a fair trial, I don't know what it is. As a side note, Lilly was pushing Ben to admit not taking the supplies, which would lead to Carley being guilty.

  • I dunno about Kenny, but as megamike15 said, I could definitely see Larry voting Trump now that he pointed that out. :P

  • around 7 mins and 30 seconds in this vid, he says "the banks, the politics, the crap - those things are gone". Knew he had said something like that.

  • Kenny and Larry are republicans, everyone else is probably liberal. I'm positive Nate is a libertarian, not sure why.

  • Lol, that made my day.
