Season Two Broke Me.

Okay, sorry, I am late to the party here as I just finished Season Two, and am brand new to the forums, so bare with me!

I am one of those players that simply refuses to go back on my decisions when it comes to The Walking Dead. I made them in the moment and lived with them, I hated myself for leaving Sarah for instance but stuck with it. But it actually broke me for the very first time at the end of Season Two. And it's actually quite ironic because for the first time ever I chose a decision based on the fact that I didn't think choosing to stay with Kenny would affect the outcome, I thought that staying with Kenny would just result in him pushing me through the doors of Wellington and making me stay anyway, because as we know, every decision usually makes you end up in the same place, just taking a different route.

So I stayed, I bawled but I thought that was how it was always going to go. But then the choices screen came up and I noticed the bottom one. You and AJ are at Wellington. Not, you tried to stay with Kenny, but you ARE with AJ at Wellington. My stomach dropped to my knees as I realised for the first time ever, my decision literally had an effect on the direction I was headed. I couldn't handle it, I felt sick enough that I left Kenny in the first place, but to know I actually had the choice? Man, I couldn't take it. I had to go back and stay with him. He has been there for me every step of the way. I broke my golden rule for a fucking game character dammit, what a game!!

Let's see where this road takes us Kenny. I'll never do that to you again.

I know what you mean bruh

There were two times in the series that I teared up... This was one of them

  • Hi! What was the other time??

This game has had me a wreck a few times but only actually had tears 3 times. The end of S2, the end of S1 and the final time in S2 when Kenny is talking about Duck.

    Ending of S1

    • Lee: "I was supposed to look after you. I can't now"
    • Clem: "I know"

I think that was the part where it became too much

It's rare to see someone who loves season 2. This is amazing.

  • Really? Lots of people like season 2.

  • I too regretted not staying with Kenny. I tried to justify it by saying that it would be foolish to turn down the safety of Wellington, but family is more important and what really matters. I'd be going back on my official ending for sure if Kenny is in season 3.

  • Trust me, I see more hate than like on this specific topic. I love season 2 but it got to the point where people where i could not read post on here because people were complaining about season 2 non stop.

  • It's a gut wrenching choice for sure. Kenny's been there since the god damn begginning. I guess that's why there's no time limit on making this final choice. I'm sticking to my guns and playing through choosing Wellington. I hope it turns out o.k. with everyone's ending.

It's really on this forum, mainly. The public opinion on... well, just about every place that isn't this forum is generally positive.

  • I regretted not shooting Kenny sooner.

  • I'm curious as to why it is this forum only. With the first season the public and this forum praised it from beginning to end. I suppose even in spite of mostly decent reviews from the public. The first game will always remain superior over the second to the majority. Michonne mini-series looks to be a slight improvement, but the episodes are still too brief and pacing a bit too quick I'd say.

  • As much as I didn't like season 2, it's great to see people who actually enjoyed it and make positive threads about the game.

  • Thank you. Season Two to me was just as good as Season One, it just had a different pace which I felt kept things fresh. I think that Telltale's writing is simply unmatched in the game world. I think they did the best that they could, some were never going to like the second season as much because Season One was so good, I don't mind people not liking it, everyone has different tastes. What I don't like is when people don't respect that Telltale will have really tried their best to make a great game for everyone.

  • Instead of changing what I did, ( because, at least for me, what's done it's done, if I change it wouldn't be the same thing) I re-played the entire season making 70% of the choices different from what I had; On the first one I choosed to kill Kenny ( even trough I wanted him to live ) and ended up with Jane and the family, and on the second I didn't kill Jane and letted Kenny live, and didn't stayed at Wellington, so now when season 3 comes out I can do my normal play, with Jane alive, and enjoy the time I still have with Kenny :)

  • How was he being dramatic?

What, you don't see the absolute seething level of pure, unadulterated pandemonium coming from SemiSweet's post? You think that post is within acceptable bounds? You don't think it's just an absolute savage attack on the nay-sayers? An attack so vicious it could be likened to BEING MAULED BY A BEAR?! IN THE MIDDLE OF A TORNADO?!

What I don't like is when people don't respect that Telltale will have really tried their best to make a great game for everyone

This is a level of brutality that is just UNMATCHED by humankind

Even the barbarians weren't this SAVAGE

I don't mind people not liking it, everyone has different tastes

Just look at these fighting words

If the dictionary was filled with this level of fiery, sternly-worded speech, it would CATCH ON FIRE AND EXPLODE

AND IN CASE IT ISN'T CLEAR ENOUGH, THIS IS NOT AN IRONICALLY OVER DRAMATIC POST

    THIS IS RAW

  • When you play so many games that are just blowing crap up and get accustomed to that, only to come into a game that actually gives a damn about its story and character development, you become attached to them and the outcome. Not everyone is going to get 'dramatic' but I'm not the only one, you only have to watch playthroughs on youtube to see how the game can affect a certain individual, no need to go after others because you were cold to it, be better than that.

  • Yeah that's a good way around it but I just never felt like having two saves. Just want one canon story, I made one replay and I will never leave Kenny again if I can help it haha.

I'm really glad you like S2.
