Wow, of course not, if they kill Clementine or completely remove her from the story they would just be completely killing The Walking Dead, what's the sense on having a series of games if you have no story from the beginning? You'd just be starting a completely different game, that couldn't even be called "Season 3:
I don't think I have to dig much deeper, I'm relatively familiar with the entire franchise, including both comic book and TV-series universes. All I said was that practically everything else in TTG's The Walking Dead worked better than Season 2. There's no reason to get annoyed if I don't find Clem as important character as you do in a universe where no one is safe (and even Rick might die one day).
Besides every installment of the series have had different protagonist, so it's not guaranteed that TTG will keep Clem as a main protagonist of Season 3, especially considering that they said earlier that Season 2 is supposed to be conclusion of Clem's story. But I assume that we will learn the answer in May (as Michonne concludes in April) till then it's bit pointless to argue about it.
And I don't think that the fact that Michonne is 2 episodes shorter than Clem's stint as a protagonists makes the experience any less valuable. In fact it might make the gaming experience more intensive, because writers have to make every scene count.
"Michonne" and "400 Days" are diversions from the main storyline. 400 Days was a one-shot deal featuring characters who couldn't sustain the… moreir own full-length season. Michonne is one of the most popular characters to come out of Kirkman's corner of the WD world, and even she's only getting three episodes.
Dig a little deeper and look between the lines next time.
I don't even know what that means. I'm new to this site, was Googling Season 3, happened upon this thread in my Google search so I signed up and replied. Didn't realize it was a sin to reply to a thread here, and no admins or whatever sent me anything about it, so apparently whatever I did by posting a reply isn't really a big deal.
Apparently, I did without realizing that I was doing something wrong. I'm new to this site, and while doing a Google search for Season 3, I happened upon this thread, so I replied. I just now realized what this necrobumping was when I went back looking for a reason why Duck_Hunt said something to me about it in the first place. When I glanced at the date of the last post before mine, it dawned on me. I'm sorry to whomever got annoyed by this, but apparently with one post, this whole thread breathed new life, so I don't understand why it's such a bad thing. Nobody knows what they're doing yet, and with Season 3 right around the corner, why not discuss it?

That's only because everyone knew it was only a mini game explaining the back stories of some of the people Clem would be up against in season 2. Same goes for Michonne. It's fine to play in between, but I'd better see Clem in Season 3 or I'm seriously not playing it.
It's not that it's a bad thing, far from it in fact. It's just that necrobumping (accidental or not) usually doesn't breathe new life into the thread like it did here. Necrobumped threads usually just take up space where new discussions could have been.

I would like to have two main characters, like other TellTale Game's.
Clementine in her own group and Christa looking for her. So we would have Clementine and the people who don't want her to come back, they would have Christa to play. And Christa's story would connect to Clem somehow. I would like that ;-;

Whoever wrote that article i am shaking my head at you. Without Clementine, it's not the walking dead (the game obviously). The whole point of season 1 and 2 wouldn't matter at all if they "ditched" Clem. There's no way they should do this and im just glad that article is the opinion of someone and not telltalei itself
This long thread has shown that there are two kinds of ways to see things. Some think that it's all about the main character (Clem in games and Rick in comics), while others think that it's all about the world and the setting works even without that single character (as we have seen in game, book and TV spin-offs).
This thread has also shown that it is difficult to find a compromise, because these views are fundamental and affect to how people see the entire franchise.
That in mind, I think that it is impossible to "win" this debate.
On my POV, there are people that know that a series need a main character to build it's story from the beggining to the end, and people that think that if you take off every important character from the first season and still call the next game part of the franchise would be fine, even tought it make no sense.

With the exception of Clem, TTG already killed off every important character from the first season (although technically Kenny is determinant and Christa is M.I.A). One of the biggest strengths of the comics is that it's not just about Rick, but it has wide cast of supporting characters and some of them have been around since day 1. Unfortunately the game series has tendency to aim for almost complete total party kills at the season finales.
Considering that many see Season 2 as a failure compared to Season 1, these people see that a fresh start with a new protagonist and cast of characters could actually do good for the franchise and bring back the magic of Season 1. While the idea won't make sense to those who want to play Season 3 as Clem, it isn't as far fetched as one might imagine. There are plenty of game series where different games happen in the same game universe, but have new protagonists and supporting characters.

I don't really mind not playing as her ( altought I really prefer to ), just that If they kill her or take her out of the scene they would just end up with the story...Making to sense to make anything after.

i agree, i hope she never returns, fuck, im tired of her, she is a poor choice as a protagonist, she has sooo many limitations, the only reason why everyone like her its because they still feel pity for her because of lee´s death, nothing more. I want a protagonist like Lee, strong and smart, not a fucking defenseless and uncharismatic little girl, someone that you can feel identified, im tired of all those who think clem can survive on her own, dont lie to yourselves, she is a kid!!! she is too dependent, she cant survive on her own, she depends on others to live

I guess because we as players have had 2 seasons to care about Clementine as a character it would just make it hard to not have her return. I wouldn't mind a new protagonist but without Clem it just won't feel like a walking dead game IMO. What I would like to see in season 3 is for a group of characters to all survive the season instead of being killed off for drama

god no. i'll be honest, and this may be controversial, but i preferred the second season over the first one. i recently got a new console and replayed the first two seasons over a few days (got them on sale) to sync for season 3. now, i thought the first was great, but the character arc for clem in the second season was kind of brilliant, the writing was stronger, and i could finally murder kenny (i don't get the love for him at all, i didn't like him in season 1, but jesus-from-the-comics, he's the ben of season 2). Clem's the heart and soul of these games and it all taking place through her eyes as she's growing up is one of the best aspects of the series. her being an npc would kind of suck too, the games feel like her story. so i vote no.

I completely agree. I also think this view is only controversial on this forum. If you look at S2 on Steam for example it has a 96%. I think the vast majority like S2, like Clementine and want her as the playable character in S3.

I'm honestly a bit sick of Clementine, she's somehow managed to push the line between stagnant and overdeveloped, but it's clear that we're going to have to continue her story in the third one.

No, just no.
Hmmm... Let me think hard... Uhhhhh... FUCK NO! (btw. I didnt think hard... That was sarcasm)
All FOR CLEMENTINE AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER IN SERIES 3.
this is what I a want.
Nah.
Okay, fess up, which one of you brought this thread back?
Nevermind. I figuredon't it out. I'm new, so yeah. Thank you for kinda defending me there, Chris. ^_^

Hell no leave Clem alone
Bad enough u killed Lee off
maybe not downright ditch her, but I certainly don't want to play as her again.

That actually sounds like a great compromise.
Can they plz get lee back to game plz i love Play With him
Sorry, it's not gonna happen ( unless they make some kind of DLC of before the ZA, but i doubt they would ).

you are not real dude

I wanna play as a bandit TBH
