Lee and Doug references on TWD TV show
Hey guys, I was watching the last TV show episode and I saw a small reference to Lee and Doug on the name tags, anyone else noticed that?

I believe Doug was more of a reference to tje comic-version of Diana. Lee however... Who knows?
If any game characters turn up in the show, I will scream for joy.
If there's ever a TV show on the game itself, I will scream for joy. Forget Fear The Walking Dead. Lee and Clementine in their own show, now that's what I wanna see.
Good catch! I also spotted Jim in one of the keychains. Look at the bottom of the second picture.
Edit: Now that I'm making memory, I also remember reading Sherry, which probably was foreshadowing for Dwight coming back. Sherry was Dwight's brunette wife from Episode 6.
And also, that ones were the few that we could actualy see, the others are kind of dark and 'un-visible'
The Lee one is definitely intentional. It's clearly visible, with pretty obvious focus on it (lighting, etc)
As for Doug, it could be a reference, but Doug's not exactly the most known character, especially when you consider how few people saved him and all that. He seems like a bit of an odd pick in comparison to more recognizable characters from the game, like Luke, Jane or Kenny, for example.
Yeah, Doug was probabily just a coincidence.
It was the opposite for me. I saw the Doug one clear as day, but I didn't even see the Lee one until this thread.
It's more likely that Doug was a reference to Douglas Monroe from the comics.
I don't read the comics so I couldn't have said that :P
I saw Lee's for a split second, but I wasnt sure so I paused it, when I paused it I saw Doug's, and then when I came back I confirmed that there actualy was a name tag for Lee too :P
Oh god. Now we're going to have people think Lee and clem will turn up on the tv show even though they're in the comic book universe and not the tv
It's pretty possible they could make TV Show versions of Lee and Clementine or some other character from the Video Games because they're not in the Comics.
Not even a coincidence, just two relatively common names. Sorry to rain on your parade but I dont know why they would reference a game they have nothing to do with.
Never mind.
You're rainingnon our homoparade against Larry.. Gaah.
he doesn't even exist in the tv show universe. Neither does Clem.
Oh yeah right. :P
The brightness is focousing on the name, and it's pretty obvious that's intentional, since those are one of the few visible names ( more specificaly Lee, Doug was probably just a coincidence )!
They do exist. We just haven't seen them. It's possible that they survived Savannah, or that they died at the Motor Inn when the bandits attacked.
Except the comic book and game version is different to the tv show version. So they don't exist in the tv show version. The same way Darryl doesn't exist in the comic book universe. They exist in the comic book universe but not the tv show.
Oh, I'm perfectly aware of that! I'm suggesting that, instead of not existing in that universe, perhaps they died during the fist days of the apocalypse, or wound up somewhere else. Just that we haven't seen them doesn't mean they don't exist, right?
nice find. i kinda dont think it is that. but hopefully it is a lil nod to the game. but i also wish it was a lil something more bigger.
I noticed Doug but Lee
Im not convinced but thats fine.
Ok then
i don't know if that was intended, a knowledge of the game by tell tale. intended or not that's a pretty cool find. thanks for share this.
I think the most will get is a clem webisode
I think it was intentional since there are only a few names visible. And this scene is playing in a pharmacy, just like in the first game where Doug and Lee were looking for some medicine for Larry. This season they are doing quite some referances if thats the right word for this. So why not make some small reference to the game? Players will like that and all the others wont think twice about this scene, no problems.
Douglas Monroe?
Isn't Monroe also the name of the community of TWD : Michonne?
Yes, but it's just a coincidence. @InGen_Nate_Kenny said that the colony could be named after James Monroe, the fifth US President.
Douglas Monroe is the leader of a community in Alexandria, not far from the Chesapeake Bay. I'm guessing you knew that though, because of your profile picture.
Wow even that would be more than incredbly amazing
Well, the large ship itself is actually called Monroe, and that's why the community is called that, but you never know why it would be named Monroe, maybe there's a designer or something on the Telltale staff with the last name Monroe.
