How likely is Clementine to survive beyond season 3?
Assuming she is recasted and NOT player character the next round. And just supporting character..
Your beliefs, thoughts and predictions.
My quick input would be if #3 is Telltale's final walking dead season (a grave mistake no pun intended) they might try to off Clem as THE WALKING DEAD has proven they are not above killing children or teens nor main characters.

Why would we assume any of that?
Rick is the main character on the show and has been on it for 6 seasons. Clementine is the main character in the game, so there would be no reason to killer her off unless they were going for the anthology format, but obviously they are not.
She'll live.
Ugh Why would you call yourself boss man ham?
Rick's also main character for comics and comic creator Robert Kirkman has stated " not even Rick is safe ". I wouldn't be surprised if they go from Rick to Carl at like issue 200 or something.
So that might go double for TV Rick since he is an actual person with a life and schedules and might get tired after while of doing walking dead and desire to move on to other possible acting gigs.
He might not want to go down in history as only best known as Rick Grimes. Ditto for Norman Reedus and other folks from the show.
For the game there has been quite a few other main characters depending on the episode or series.
One could say Lee was main character of the game which he indeed was for a time then got killed off to pass that mantle to Clementine. What's in store for season 3 is a complete mystery currently and the future of which is full of speculation at the moment. I would rather Clem be main character again a since it would make sense but if this is the final season I'm not sure if Clem would live through the finale of S3 as with S2.
I agree. And I think season 3 will be the last one... At least with Clementine.
Walkers will become just another shitty obstacle in everyday life. I suspect Clementine and the people around her will adapt. Chances are she'll live, but not a happy or full life.
That's what I'm kind of worried about . really wanted to see a season 4 with adult/teen Clem and what she has become at that point.
Imo- I think it's highly unlikely they'll kill off Clem. Clem seems to be too vital in the game, especially seeing where the last season ended. Besides, in one of the endings where she's by herself with the baby, Clem has no choice but to remain alive (unless being found by someone else) or else the game would be surrounding the baby that has no option to move at all really.
Granted, they did kill off Lee, and there was Hell to pay for that, so it MAY be a possibility, but I doubt it.
However, if she were a supporting character, I think that she could possibly keep herself alive. There could be possible slip ups, but she was taught so much throughout the whole game. Like how to use a gun, keep her hair cut, and even the last bits of advice Lee gave her. I think she'll be fine. c:
Well, I think that's how we all saw Lee, too. Haha. He was the main character at one point, but Telltale kinda shrugged him off- that poor baby. I'm not saying she won't be main character, I'm just saying it could in fact be a possibility.
how can she and AJ survive? a little girl, surviving on her own with a newborn baby with no food, no milk, no help, no supplies or medicine for the baby! thats hard to believe, it's very impossible and surreal. Telltale logic!
Why is that relevant?
Clementine was always who the first game was built around.
Well it is a game. You gotta suspend disbelief somewhere along the line there. Clem, AJ, and Kenny make it for 9 days after their supplies are stolen and Kenny says they only have a days worth left, so...yeah.
Last episode she will die...calling it....Telltalegames has killed kids before.
Why would you try to make an interesting thread sink?
@Telltalegames, you are a horrible person.
I didnt think she would die last season and see no reason that they should kill her this season. Though ill have to see what the seasons theme appears to be
Well of course. That's not what I was referring to, though.
How likely is Telltale to survive beyond Season 3 if Clementine dies is the question you should be asking. I'd like to see them continue to do stuff with Clementine's character, but if she dies [and it's done badly at that] it could piss a lot of people off. She's one of the few things linking the games together and showing any signs of what you could call 'story/character progression'. Clementine gets killed, all of those episodes with her and those games will feel like a complete waste of time. Lee saving Clem? Clementine becoming a survivor? Nope, all for nothing.
They do that [especially if it's done for shock value and to tug at the heartstrings] it's a screw Season 3 in advance from me. I'm not buying it.
I don't think they will kill off Clementine given she has managed to survive this long due to the skills Lee taught her, I have a feeling she will meet up with another survivor group possibly Lily and Glenn as well. I would like to know what happened to them.
Why would you keep answering questions with more questions?
I hope she's alive ... STOP killing kids!
Last season might of just been too soon and could risk appearing redundant or "predictable" with killing off the protagonist as they did previously with Lee. But come season 3 more time will pass by the finale and circumstances could change by then. Clementine will be developed even further by then, maybe even to the point that there would be nothing more to tell of her character's journey..and then get killed off. So for her to make it through 3 seasons and going into season 4 (If they make season 4) would be something.. since everyone else around her pretty much has passed on.
Shock value death would be awful however.. I would believe that Clem wouldn't get the Omid treatment and get offed in episode 1 or 2. Most likely they would save her death (if they decided that) until the very end of the game like with Lee. Because by that point you'd have already purchased the entire game as with a million others unless you waited for the hard copy CD and got spoiled of her death before purchase to not buy it.
Like they did with Duck
I know. Just saying we can't necessarily use Lee as an example of what may or will happen to Clem.
I'm not the one asking about people's usernames.
I just wanted to know why we should assume the things you mention in the OP. I don't necessarily think any of it will be the case. I don't necessarily think they're going to change main characters or that she'll only be support. She could be, but I just don't see any reason to assume that. They've got a good thing going with Clementine.
The moment Clem dies is when the series end as far as I'm concerned
I'm not stating fact, just my idea.
I only used Lee as an example since they main commenter used Rick.
With the reports of the "Continuing of the story, as well as a new begging" worry me. Clems story could have ended then, with everything open and her alive. I think the only way they can top season 1 is with the death of Clem. But, like I said, we are not sure what that statement means. If season 3 doesnt have clem I will not be playing.
Agreed. If Clem dies, we riot.
Say that to the walkers....
I don't buy the episodic games asap anymore, often I wait until the whole game is out now like I did for RE2 Revelations. And likely I'll be watching my friend Sialark's playthrough on Season 3 so I'll be able to experience it that way at least...just um, going to make sure I'm drunk. So yeah >.> they're not catching me in the 'we'll kill her at the end' trick if they do kill Clementine.
It all comes down to whether Telltale decides whether or not Clementine's story is either finished, or no longer have the motivation to continue her story.
I think she will die while she is trying to save aj just like lee did in season 1
This can be horribly taken out of context.
Well now I do not think that TTGS has ever willingly killed a child...but their coding sweatshop could have some skeletons. I mean it is possible someone disappeared over the Jurassic Park game.
Yeah I understand. The main difference I see is that Rick is the guy the comic is based around, while Clem was who the game was built around.
But you're completely right that nothing is sacred in TWD. They could off Clem. I really hope they don't.
