5 MINUTE LOAD SCREEN!

Okay...PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who got a INSANELY long ass load screen right after you retreat into the house after shit hits the fan because that was DREADFUL. There was no reason for it to be that long!

Great Episode, but fucking jeez!

Telltale needs to fucking fix that A.S.A.P

I played on Steam.

  • I had some pretty long loading times as well. I'm guessing that has to do with them using higher resolution textures. Still, though, I hope they fix it for future games. I mainly play Telltale games on a pretty good PC, and still encountered this.

I definitely think it's fixable. I was looking at my clock and it was definitely at least 4-5 minutes long, which is ridiculous regardless of some high end textures. Especially since episode 1 and 2 had some alright load times.

I had a long loading screen at that point but it wasn't 5 minutes but it was around 1 minute which was really long for me, i have my game installed on a SSD so i didn't expect it to take that long.

  • The most annoying one for me was the one that interrupted the opening credits, it played the cool little theme and then I had to wait 2 minutes for the song to start

  • I experienced a similar problem with the loading screen at that exact moment, but it wasn't 5 minutes long, more like a minute. Other loading screens were like 20-30 seconds long, Telltale really needs to work on that.

  • You guys need to get better computers.

  • Same, happened to me in episode 2 as well.

  • That's what I hated the most in TWDM. After the fight in the yard, the loading screen took like 2 freaking minutes.

  • My computer is fairly new, less than a year old, Blind Sniper says he has a good PC as well. It's not the computers, it's the game.

  • I can confirm this. The longest loading screen I ever had.

  • For me most loading screens were 10 to 30 seconds long, but the last one, when you confront Norma took almost 10 Minutes (!!).
I walked off and did something else, when I came back it was still loading.

No idea why this happens, I have a high end pc and can play recent open-world games without those loading times. :/

  • My PC is pretty ancient, and the maximum was 12 seconds.

I don't get why they decided to split the intro sequence into it's own thing (hence having a loading screen for it). It doesn't accomplish much besides awkwardly cutting off the song.

  • I didn't experienced 5 minutes, but I did get longer than usual loading screens and I was playing on big PC.

  • Nor 5 minutes, but quite long too. I think it's big new levels where you have memories and real world in the same location. plus now characters go inside rooms/outside house without loading screens.

  • Yeah it happened for me last time as well, however at least this time it didnt stutter halfway through the song like it did last episode. The part where michonne blinks usually made it glitch

  • I had Xbox, and I had to restart it the initial loading screen for the game itself. I didn't have that much problems with the other loading, but I would love for Telltale to improve on it.

  • Same. I had some pretty long loading screens, but the one during the retreat into the house was by far the worst - definitely lasted for 5 minutes, probably more. My computer's pretty unfit for gaming, which probably contributed, but even then I've never had that problem before.

I had multiple multi-minute long loading times, it was actually pretty ridiculous tbh, lol.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones here, then. I don't have the best rig, but most of the loading times weren't bad. I think the longest one was about 10-15 seconds? Although there was some freezing, most notably at the very beginning of the episode just before the intro, when Randall talks/turns. And from most of the playthroughs I've seen, it freezes up at that same spot for most people, too. Mine froze on a particularly interesting facial expression from Paige.

    Wut

Really off-topic, but did you, or anyone else reading this, recognize the music that plays while Oak and Michonne talk about Berto and the "coffee?"

  • I played on the PS4 and didn't get any long loading screen. However I did get the face off glitch.

  • I'm the same as your situation.

With others having pretty decent rigs but long loading times is what makes me confused.

  • 5 minutes... seriously? And here I thought that Just Cause 3's load times on consoles were bad.

  • Really ? Got the game installed on a 120GB SSD, I5 4670k, R9 280X, 16GB RAM, the game took about 2 minutes to load at the house scene

Yeah, I got an insanely long load screen there also. I thought the game had shat itself and very nearly closed out of it, but it finally loaded just before I resorted to that. Is it something to do with the cloud-save feature, or is there some other strange bug thing happening? Also for the scene after you leave the burning house took a longer-than-usual amount of time to load, but not as long as the earlier one. BTW I'm playing on PC and it's not the latest and greatest by any means, but it's still a pretty decent rig capable of running latest releases smoothly in high res so I don't think it has anything to do with hardware capabilities.

haha! That glitch is hilarious! It happens on XBOX one too, apparently... or "also" i should probably say instead of "too/two", to avoid possible confusion. Damn Micro$oft and their ridiculous naming policies.

  • Thank you so much!

Everyone should go follow @GodsFriendChuck on YouTube! They put a lot of effort into their videos, and upload game scores soon after episode release.
