Would this scene make more sense [Ep 3 Spoilers]
So the episode goes normal all the way up to exchange..
It goes on yadedada .. but a slight tweak:
Norma points the gun at Oak and says she just wants her brother back and this thing can end..
If you oblige, Norma will send all 3 members walking your way. She'll take off untie Randall, except..
As Berto makes his way to the gate, he gets shot in the back of the head by Norma who says
"YOU DIDN'T THINK IT WAS GONNA BE THIS FUCKIN' EASY, DID YOU?"
and the usual "KILL EM!"
Fits more to the story instead of the old useless rush and Norma just staring at you like an idiot.

When you say "this scene", you mean when Randall's alive and tries to charge at you, right?
I actually suggested something in another thread as well:
Instead of him trying to charge you after being cut free, he would go for one of the guns from Jonas/Gabby instead, and starts taking potshots at Sam and the rest while they're distracted by the walkers. He wouldn't really hit anything because of his hands, but maybe he could possibly kill Oak or someone else in the process, which leads to you having to shoot him before he kills anyone else. Maybe you could give Zachary a second alternate death where he notices Randall trying to kill everyone and tries to stop him, which leads to Randall killing him.
The main problem I have with him charging at you is how suicidal it is. I don't have any problem with the idea of Randall immediately trying to kill everyone after getting free (I mean, he basically says he'd do as much), but I do have a problem with him deciding to bumrush you and choke you out with his mangled hands. Randall strikes me as someone that doesn't just like to cause trouble, but someone that wants to get a front seat to his handiwork as well. He doesn't seem like the type of guy that would sacrifice himself to start a war. Now him firing shots, and causing everyone to start killing each other while he sits back and watches? That makes more sense for his character, if you ask me. He has some level of self-preservation, after all.
Also, slightly off-topic, but how does everyone feel about the other Randall death in this scene? The one where he breaks free from Sam and attempts to make a break for it? Personally, I actually like that death. Sam gets a little bit of revenge, and there's something about the anticlimactic nature of if that I like. He just gets put down like a rabid animal. And it's more understandable than him charging at you; he sees (or hears, technically) an opportunity to make it to safety, so he goes for it. Unfortunately for him, he thought wrong.
I think that, if Zachary is alive, it'd make more sense if he went and took his rifle, instead of Jonas's handgun. That's just a passing though.
Going by your post, if Gabby is the only one alive of the three, I would find it kind of funny if she tried to take her assault rifle back from Randall. It was hinted that she isn't taking any of his shit. Oh, I wish she had been developed just a little more. She seemed like an interesting character.
I think that makes Norma into a different character than intended.
I did liked how he broke character just as he was about to be shot by Sam should he try to escape from her. Instead of scowling or showing any act of defiance, he looked petrified. It appeared that he was scared to die, especially when he knows that he is about to be killed in front of Norma.
That was pretty much the only detail I liked about Randal at the time. It showed that he was more of a human being, though a despicable one, than some inhumane monster.
Yes, I'd certainly liked the scene more if it turned out like you wrote.
Yeah, I really liked that touch, as well. After seeing him talk a big game and act like he's invincible the whole time, he's brought to his knees and finally loses face. I like to imagine the main reason he's so defiant and cocky in the garage is because he's convinced that it's a lose-lose situation for Michonne whether he lives or dies. But in this scene, he realizes that he was wrong; it's a lose-lose situation for him now.
@RichWalk23 The only problem with that detail is that it takes place even if he is a walker. Zombified Randall's expression changes, and I was confused as hell when I first watched it.
I also noticed that little detail.
It's funny how Walker!Randall falls down the exact same way as Alive!Randal does, right down to looking back at Sam and turning to face Norma just as he is shot in the head.
To be fair, it's harder to tell that walker Randall is making the same expression with half of his face bashed in. I don't think most people will pick up on something like that, besides people like us.
Fans who look for details?
Annoying nit-pickers?
Either way, I'm taking that as a compliment, thanks.
Both, as a compliment
because if it wasn't a compliment, I'd be insulting myself
Touché.
Actually, having just watched the two scenes again, zombie Randall's expressions are different than alive Randall's. They both share the same animation of falling to their knees and twirling around after the shot, but zombie Randall's face is more angry and hungry looking than alive Randall's, who's wide-eyed and scared looking.
However, when zombie Randall is falling to the ground, the face reverts to the scared expression alive Randall has. But other than that, they're different.
Yes, I am referring to the scene if you give up Randall when Norma ask you. I just feel it fits more to the story you know.. Because what's Norma gonna once she has her brother back? Go to the ruins of Monroe? And be met by the former inhabitants of Monroe who are probably walkers by now?

They probably set up a momentary camp near the shore—be it at land or sea—with whatever they managed to salvage from the community, including the boats in which they escaped. Thinking about it, were this the case, Norma probably fired a flare near John's house to take off walkers from her own new place.
So they set up camp... and had time to abduct Pete's crew?
Nooo I think Norma lost way too much to just let it slide.
Gabby was pissed off because they weren't going to do anything.
