Question about the mobjack

edited April 2016 in The Walking Dead

have we learned what really happened in the Mobjack?, I mean:

-Sam said Randall murdered them all to steal their supplies.
-Norma said Randall attacked scavengers who killed the crew of the Mobjack.
-if you accuse Randall of killing crew of the mobjack, he says that they attacked first.

now everybody who know what actually happened is either dead or might be lying. Is this one of those times in which we never know the whole truth?, i am curious.

  • It was also confirmed that the kids were in fact dicks to kittens during the early stages of the outbreak thus deserved to die. When we killed Randall, we killed an American hero.

I will take all information we have on the subject as true, to make a list. We wouldn't get anywhere otherwise if we started doubting the little knowledge we have.

    • There was a group of people living on the ferry, different from the massacred people. [1]

    • Some of former inhabitants of the ferry were possibly Rashid and Vanessa, since Michonne and Pete can find a picture of their children. [4]

    • Scavengers found the ferry, and killed everyone living in it. Then, this group of scavengers took over and settled on the Mobjack, for an unknown period of time. [1]

    • Samantha traded with this group of scavengers a couple of times. [2]

    • The scavengers had the floating colony of Monroe on their scope. [3]

    • Randall and his crew—which might have included Gabby—killed all the scavengers, using guns, given that Greg and Sam heard gunshots. [1] [2]

    • Some of the scavengers were children and teenagers. Some of them were zip-tied. [4]

    • Randall and his crew took some of the scavenger's supplies to Monroe, into duffel bags. [4]

    • Samantha snuck onto Monroe, and stole some of those duffel bags. [1] [2] [4]

    • Sam made a shortwave call from the Mobjack ferry. [4]

    1. According to Norma.

    2. According to Sam.

    3. According to Randall.

    4. First-hand evidence.

  • But those kittens were hold a MEEEWtiney!

You know, there's one thing that makes me question the scavenger story that Norma tells you; the corpses. Firstly, they look the same age (in terms of time of death), which would suggest that whenever they died, they died around the same time period as one another. Secondly, if scavengers took over and killed the previous residents, including the kids, then why did they keep their corpses on board instead of throwing them out?

Randall's story is also somewhat questionable, given that he states "those folks came after us first!" But think about that response; he doesn't deny there being children on the ferry, and he doesn't mention the scavengers. He only says 'they' came after him first, without explaining who 'they' refers to. If anything, he might have just admitted that he did in fact gun down the ferry inhabitants including the kids, on the assumption that they were coming after him and his community.

  • I guess if the people of the Mobjack were zip tied, it would mean his definition of self-defense might be skewed, i guess he also might not have told Norma the whole truth, i noticed we still dont know what happened with Rashid and Vanessa, Pete never mentioned them again after episode 1. Thanks for your time to write this.
