Quick formality: I don't remember if I've ever commented on this thread before.
Now on to business: I also don't see how they could make … moreit work, Clementine being Season 3's playable character.
Not with the 4 different endings they have for this Season.
In my honest opinion, I think we do need a new playable character for Season 3, with the proviso that they are a character that we have already met in the game, but not one that we know much about.
In order to really tie the whole thing together, the new character would have to be one we're already somewhat acquainted with.
Otherwise what would be the point of the previous two games?
On that note, looking back over the last two games, I honestly feel that that TT made a HUGE mistake, when they killed Lee off at the end of Season 1.
If Lee were still around, we would still be able to continue with the story we have now.
And now TT also made another HUGE mistake, by making Kenny a de… [view original content]
Thank you.
Another mistake that I feel TT made, is killing Luke off.
I think Luke might have been able to work as Season 3's playable character, in that the guy was so likable.
And also, that we met Luke pert-near from the start of Season 2, so we got to build a rapport with him throughout the game, and depending on the player's decisions, a rather strong one at that.
And for that reason, even if Luke was not the playable character for Season 3, he still would've been a great character to have around.
An even better candidate for Season 3's PC character, I felt, would've been Nick.
The reason I say that, is that all through the game, I don't think that I really got to know Nick's character.
He seemed to have enough understated mystery about him, that I think his being the playable character would've been plausible.
The only way I can see them making it work, is having one of the characters from 400 days as the new playable character for Season 3.
As we did get play them briefly, but we still don't know that much about them.
Although, of the characters from 400 days, I hated Russell, I wasn't wild about The Asian guy in the prison bus, (who's name I can't remember off-hand), and the biggest problem I see with Wyatt's character, is that he seems to burned out from weed.
That leaves only Bonnie and Shel left, Bonnie is determinate now, and I personally have no regard for Shel's sister, and would hate having to deal with her for an entire Season.
So what then?
According to what I've heard, TT is trying to come up with a new angle, which is fine, bit I don't see how they can tie it all together.
Maybe it will be a totally brand new character, who's story we get to pick up briefly from Season 1, and then again in Season 2 as a parallel story, and then they meet Clementine at the end of the game?
_1. So? They could have a two hour long DLC putting all the strands back together, or dedicate an entire S3 episode to doing so, or they could Omid that shit (I hope not), or another way I'm not informed of yet. Multiple endings doesn't mean it can't continue.
_2. To me it seemed like a way to get the hype train moving.
_3. So?
_4. There are plenty of places to go with her story. Mostly anything that could be applied to another character, whichever one you think should be the next protag, can be applied to her (in an overarching story fashion).
_5. Then don't expect major time skips. I'm okay, even hoping, that this is the case.
_6. They did, but there has been a huge amount of evidence that points to it remaining with Clementine (though it could be argued that they would move her to the position of a NPC, but I doubt that).
A few things wrong with ur statements. First off, these are your opinions instead of facts.
TT will make season 3 based off your ending. Remember your choices always matter and TT always hve their picked up from where u left off.
The game wouldn't make any sense if they just switch to another character. Tht wrecks the storyline and would be dumb becuz TT always follow the storyline of any game.
This isn't following the comics at all. Their two different things. Her life hasn't ended becuz she's not dead. Remember what happened in carvers' camp of a herd? Could happen again.
There isn't any logic of clementine not being in S3. We cant play as AJ. He's a baby and would make any sense.
I agree. I saw S1 as Clementine's backstory. And kinda the same with S2. Clem is young enough for players to really make her into someone of their choosing whether she's a hero or villian
Since Season 1 begins Clementine's history. Ok, we played as Lee, but the main reason the game was Clementine's parents to find in Savannah.… more Season 2 was with Clementine as she had Kenny found again. I think, Season 3, will remain with Clementine, because she has to take care of AJ and show how to survive with Kenny or Jane or Alone.
I think they are going to keep Clementine as the main protagonist, or at least for season 3. I think their is things that could be explored. Also I feel season 1 was kind of in a way you shaping Clementine. I think it would be a waste tot just completely throw her character away. But if it just so happens she is not the protagonist of season 3 I would at least like to see a reference or even a cameo of Clementine. Just something to remind us she is still their and didn't just disappear from the walking dead universe.
Yup I agree! I think a DLC episode would work nicely to get everybody to the same point to start season 3. However, there's definitely oth… moreer ways to do it in season 3. One scenario I'd love to see next season (it would work great for those who went with Jane at the end of the season and let the family in): a family joins Clem's group and the father begins acting mysteriously/dangerously and she must make a choice between killing him in front of his family or letting him live and risking hers and others' safety. It might take an episode or two to develop her to that point where she would be willing to do that, but it would be a huge decision that the game hasn't introduced yet.
I am personally happy they took Clem out of the spotlight and allowed room for the comic to come back to the spotlight. Too many loose ends after season two to tie up and still have a great story surrounded by her... Well in the ttg engine at least.
Now I'm just crossin my fingers for Alex, James and Paige from this michonne story to be the new protagonists. Or better yet can we use an asshole.
Lol I wonder how everyone feels right now.

Like oh I don't know, Nate from 400 days
I'm just crossin my fingers for Alex, James and Paige from this michonne story to be the new antagonists.
* Why would they out of all people be ANTAGONISTS, James is only 13 and Alex is 7. Then Paige doesn't seem Evil. Like c'mon now.
Thank you.

Edit I just realized this comment was a year old. I understand the OP didn't have the new interview to go on.
They've had several years to work on this game. The mashable interview seems to hint that they will, in fact, weave each ending into the new game.
Well we already know she's going to be in the game, so I don't see how we've said farewell at all.
I think they'll do something similar in S3 if she's the PC.
She's got a lot of life left. She was only 11.
Kirkman confirmed that the time skip will happen in the game too.
I'm sure there will be new characters and perhaps even a new approach to how you play the game, but I don't think we can say anything definitively about who the PC will be based on that.
I think that she won't be a PC but our ending will shape her personality I guess. They had spoken a loooot about "My Clementine" "Who's YOUR Clementine?" etc.
I agree that Clem's gotten too much spotlight, especially considering how Telltale hammed up the whole "little girl in the apocalypse" thing.
But uh, that being said, I don't want to play as Alex, James, or Paige. They'd be way too similar to Clementine, even if they more accurately depicted how a youth would act in the apocalypse. I want something fresh, or a protagonist with a more standard physique and social status so that the story can start focusing on supporting characters more (hopefully more than one or two of them).
Lol I wonder how everyone feels right now.

Or maybe Nate captures Alex and James. And while we are being hunted by Paige we have the opportunity to be abusive and mean to the kids or be another father figure and have compassion towards them. Nate isn't a full fledged antagonist yet so we still can mold him... Or that's how I see it.

TTs TWD is Clementine's story. I think there's more to do with her character and I want to develop her more. The comics are essentially Rick's story and that's how I view TTs TWD--it's Clementine's story.
What about Morales and his family? They never did anything to distinguish themselves besides leaving, and I forgot they existed until you commented on them. They were warm bodies while they were there, and then what?
What about Morales and his family? He was an important part of the group in season 1 but then he went to look for the rest of the family. Me… morerle had an unknown status until season 3 because he escaped from the rooftop in Atlanta and we didn;'t know if he was still alive. Morgan also had unknown status until season 3 SO don't tell me that in TV show there wasn't any character that had or has an unknown status because there are few.
That's your opinion. For some Morales was character important enough for them to have hope that maybe he will appear in FTWD. Anyway that DOESN'T change the fact that Merle and Morgan are important characters and for some time they had an unknown status in the TV Show. There are more characters but I just don't feel a necessity to bring them up here.
What about Morales and his family? They never did anything to distinguish themselves besides leaving, and I forgot they existed until you commented on them. They were warm bodies while they were there, and then what?
I do think it could still work with Clem if some time has passed between s2 and s3. Likely it would start off as Clem and AJ alone again and looking for somewhere safe, etc. Who you run into and certain dialogue options would shift depending on your S2 choices.
I don't think it matters that there were several different endings on S2. We were told that our decisions from S1 and 400 Days would affect S2 and that didn't really happen. None of the major decisions really made a difference. Like, in 400 Days, no matter what choices you make, Bonnie will always decide to go with Tavia. The advice Lee gives Clem at the end of S1 will only appear if you decide to go with Jane AND decide to turn the family away. No decisions that are canon to the story actually have an effect. In that respect, I think they can make Clem the PC. TWDG is Clementine's story. There's more we can do to develop what type of survivor she'll be.

i hope not, if she is the protagonist again, season 3 will be the same garbage season 2 was, nobody wants clementine, i hope she only has one brief cameo

why would you want clementine as the playable character again? she is not a strong character and lacks charisma, plus.... she is too defenseless, too young, too weak, with sooo many limitations, even if she grows a few years older she will still being a pathethic little girl in a world where anybody can take advantage of her, the only reason why you like her is because you think she is "cute"

She's an amazing person! I think she is a very deep character, undergoing an amazing transformation! I just adore little girl so strong mentally. There is no connection that she looks cute, it's just a plus. Making her to the coolest character, stunning in every game world, that her survival, her inner beauty, to say the girl is weak, it's just awful! She is very strong mentally and it only strengthened more! I became attached to her and I want to see how the story ends this heroine girl.
Don't act like you think you know everyones thoughts. Saying that no one wants Clementine is the most stupid thing I've ever heard. I've actually noticed a large number fans who would be more than happy to play as Clem again.

You easily forgot how she sold the entire group to a guy she never saw and never mentioned anything, she made her choice when she left the house voluntarily and decided to abandon lee (the guy who cared for her and saved her so many times, the guy who was willing to give his life for her) i agree kenny was an asshole when sarita died but he was right about one thing: only because she's a little girl she can get people killed, say sorry and everythings gonna be okay? you think its fair that lee and omid died because of her negligence!!! the fact that she was eight doesn't matter in a ZA, she's a living person. Lee and omid didnt deserved to die like that, both had stupid deaths and lee suffered until the end, lee was a strong man with so much potential, more than clementine will never have in her life, but he had a weakness, clementine, she was his doom at the end. Clementine don't deserve to live after what she did. The only reason why everyone likes her its because they still feel pity for her because of lee's death, you can say what you want but she is weak, she is totally incapable of surviving on her own, the brief time she was alone in season 2 ep 1, she was about to die until luke saved her, she didnt even last ten minutes alone, she needs to stick with others to survive beacuse she cant on her own.

I'm sorry, but ... you're not right. It even silly. You hate her, that she shot at Lee ?? You did not understand the situation, she had to to shoot him very well that she shot him! If he could become the walking dead! It was not Lee and then he would kill Clementine. are you real? Lee was dead anyway! There is no connection to that she was a little girl, every man did that! Lee suffered, preferring to die. Hypocrisy? how dare you? Clementine did not kill anybody on purpose, and you do not know how it feels! You have no right to blame the girl! You forget that you are talking about a little girl survive in Apocalypse! The man kidnapped her! She did not go willingly and easy to lure a little girl with candy or somthing. You blame a little girl and good-hearted, pure and innocent girl. And you say that reaches Clementine live ?! are you real?! It is bordered by evilly real, very disappointed by her reaction, is not particularly clever and even childish.

the stranger kidnapped her? not exactly, It was heavily hinted that Clementine got out of Fivel's mansion by herself, not against her will, the stranger didnt enter the house and took her in front of everybody, she left voluntarily, i dont hate her for shotting lee, when did i said that? putting him out of his misery was the only reasonable thing to do.
I hate her for everything else
I'm happy she's back, but I'm not crazy about playing as her again. I'm sorry, but she was boring to me in S2. I'd love to see her as a side character though.
