It's funny how ridiculously similar the two are, though. I'm pretty sure it's just a freak coincidence, but still.

Well, if it's worth anything, this was filmed way before, and I doubt Telltale or AMC had any idea the other was doing it.

  • True, I just wanted to see more of Norma.

Well to be fair, it was only a 3 episode miniseries, compared to a 15 episode season, there's a lot more they could have done with Connor than Norma.

  • I'm not sure what you mean, Alex was the woman Travis was speaking too.

Wait so are we going to get confirmation if Alex is dead or alive?

  • Well, I have a feeling something on the main show may not been done, or won't work as well.

  • its totally different the good guys are doing it to bad guys!

You can't do this before the main show does it... This would be like if the spin-off did cannibals before the main show did.

But then she was taken away saying Connor had something to use her for and she said no one used her for anything. I thought that meant they were going to kill her. Or maybe I missed something.

  • Just cause FTWD did it don't mean TWD won't

So Alex was talking about how Jake was dying of thirst and that she was near dead when they found her... but didn't episode 4 take place, like, a few hours after episode 3? Or at most, half a day? Because Travis was still raging about Strand cutting them loose, so unless he was raging about it every night for a week or so, or steamed about it for several days before finally letting it out, no way could that much time have passed. So that food and water the group gave them only lasted a few hours? And even if that was the case, Alex was suddenly near death after being given fresh supplies and doing a pretty good job surviving for at least two weeks before that? Or did Alex float all the way to the Bermuda Triangle and enter a time warp?

  • Teenage hormones.

This. Is. Still. So. Confusing! Can anyone elaborate a paragraph that explains why Jack is obsessed over Alicia, and why he is up and leaving his—apparently reasonable—leader, Connor?

  • Well I guess I'm stating the obvious here but the Reed-Connor situation was exactly like the Randall-Norma one if you chose to kill Randall in Ep. 2. Except that Norma didn't get bitten. XD

  • He did barely anything and had barely any lines, how did you know you liked him yet?

    No, I liked Connor.

  • I think it just means she wasn't planning on staying to work for Connor, not that they're gonna kill her?

I wonder if Jack will be the new villain in charge of that group. Maybe Alex instead? (On a side note, is her name Charlie or Alex? I've seen people use both, both come up with the same character on google images...I'm pretty confused here).

Don't think we've seen the last of him, her or preggers (also, name? :P ) just yet.

I hope Alex has a redemption arc, she has lots of potential. She could end up becoming the Carol of the group.

  • Everything before the trade scene was good. And then it turned into the michonne series all over again. That wasn't the bad aspect, I mean reed was a pretty convincing Randall and Connor was... There.

I think I like this new guy, don't know his name but strands friend. He's hilarious and he should work for cinemasins cause he was calling all the bs out. Loved Nick and Daniel in this especially. When he walked out of the room with the bloody rags, and just looked at his daughter, I lost it haha.

Other than the horrible trade at the end, where they somehow had no guns and only like 5 ppl compared to what they said before, this was an ok episode.

  • Like I told InGen, he had a lot of potential to be an interesting antagonist and possibly villain. Unlike Reed, he was very reasonable and rational, something we don't often see in antagonists in TWD, many of which are just brutal and outright evil, like The Governor, Negan, or Carver.

Her canon name is Alex, though the descriptions for the Flight 462 episodes used to call her Charlie. I personally think they'll stick with Alex.

Don't think we've seen the last of him, her or preggers (also, name? :P ) just yet.

The Hispanic chick is called Vida—"Life" in Spanish. That's a super uncommon name, and she is preggers, so they might've called her like that on purpose. But let's not pick back up the discussion of name meanings.

    A pretty meh episode

    Positives

    • The trade scene was kinda cool
    • Chris's character is fairly interesting if really annoying
    • Nick was cool again

    Meh

    / Alex's hair....wow

/ I dunno what to make of alicia

    Negatives

    • Can madison just let Nick help?
    • Chris continues to fuck things up
    • Not looking forward to this daniel and hearing voices crap
    • Strand/Maidosn/Daniel conversations are getting a little tiresome
    • Counted at least two "This is how the world is now" speeches
    • That creeper romance or whatever it was is hopefully over

Also two questions. Is connor coming back with a chopped off arm and was that really alex? It seems weird only travis saw her, maybe it was all in his head.

  • Ahaha good call those overeaching discussions are a nightmare..

I think that might have been realistic, that can happen to people's hair in high humidity.

That's a very interesting point indeed..

The wiki article's trivia for "Captive" mentions a deleted scene in which Alex helped Alicia escape Connor's ship. It's still waiting for the source, but we can't immediately rule it out. That scene would prove that Alex was in fact back.

Now, they could've deleted it because they want her to be part of Travis's mind. That'd be interesting.

  • Good episode. Except the exchange part. Reminded me a lot of TWD:Michonne. How does Reed come back after a gunshot wound to the head? Other than that good episode. Was wondering what Nick's new addiction would be, guess we found out. The way he mimicked the walkers made me wonder what he was thinking.

Chris shot him through the cheek, it didn't even hit his brain

Daniel wasn't hearing voices. Strand's homeboy speaks spanish doesn't he?
Also I think Connor talks about Alex and JAck definitely does to Alicia

Let's talk about Vida's secret tulip collection

  • Yeah, I know. But still, what was even the point in having Chris seemingly kill him if there were no consequences? All we're looking at now is Travis asking him why he did what he did.

  • (!) Spoilers ahead!

I can't believe she was hiding the base with the supreme tulip under her shirt, and that she wasn't actually pregnant! It fooled me, and it sure fooled Connor. Though, to be fair, had she told him about the supreme tulip and all the other tulips, he wouldn't have performed a c-section on her, and Vida would still be alive.
