Am I the only one unsatisfied by the poison route?

Here are my reasons why I don't like the poison route:

  1. I wanted revenge. I wanted to shed his blood, and what do I get?! Fucking poison; bullshit. Just like Amaya said: "Poison is dogshit. You want him to choke on your blade, not his vomit. Red Wedding, not Purple Wedding.
  2. Lady Forrester dies with him. I know she dies anyway, but poisoning her shows me Asher dosen't give a fuck about his family. I'd rather her die saving Asher's life and she can be avenged moments later. That seems more fitting, at least for me.
  3. I want Gryff dead more than Ludd.
  4. You can't say any badass quotes to Ludd, while you can say one to Gryff.

  • Yeah, very out of character. I'm glad I chose the ambush.

So go the ambush route like you did, The poison route is for people who dont have the same goals you did. You're only unsatisfied as you wanted the poison direction to do something different

  • So go the ambush route

    I did.

The poison route is for people who dont have the same goals you did.

I know, I'm just saying how I felt about it. I didn't do it, I saw a playthrough.

    Exactly.

  • I didnt hate the poison scene it was pretty nice to see Ludd choke on the poison but not so good seeing the same happen to mom. Well in both ways Lady Forrester died a heroes death. :(

I think it's a viable option if your Asher would actually do something like that.... but I think it's a much more illogical choice simply because everyone stands around for at least 20-30 seconds before reacting to the poisoning all at once. For me that shows that the ambush scene is better because all hell breaks loose immediately without any plot holes that make both sides just stand around and patiently wait for Ludd to die.

  • Man I swear, Lady Forrester must be the most under appreciated character of the game

  • Gods, this is amusing. Not satisfied, are we now? Forresters are in deep shit & struggling to survive, but no, what we want is drama, badass quotes & stage effects. When will people realize house Forrester should cling to any-fucking-thing that ensures their survival if they want it? You don't just get to act like you want & still succeed without a serious backup, you have to earn that chance, and it's not simple.

Secondly, it surprises me how people say poisoning is out of character for Asher. Alright, let's leave alone the fact that our choices form characters & nothing we do as them is ooc or not canon enough, since we create our own canon. Did you forget Asher is a sellsword? It's practically the opposite of "honorable". They stab people in the back & use poison, their goal is not being badass, it is getting the job done.

  • That's fine.

  • Yeah...

  • On an unrelated note, the most Asher thing to do is when Gwynn asks if her father is gonna be safe...

And you just choose silence, he gives her the look of "yeah he's dying. I'm killing him" and I swear I loved that so much. As torn I was from the game I'll definitely remember that forever

  • The thing is, the whole point of the poison route was for no bloodshed to happen. It kind of sucks that it happens anyway.
