Season 3 protagonist...
Hey everyone! If telltale decides not to have Clementine as S03 protagonist ( Which I'm against I loved her as protagonist, but this is not what this thread is about ) the most likely character to be the actual protagonist is Christa, because she is the last 'important' character that still has a strong bound with Clementine, and would be working as her 'guardian', which would continue the purpose of helping Clementine to grow up and determine what she will become.
Do you agree with that 'theory' or do you think that, if it isn't Clementine, there will be a protagonist that isn't Christa?

I still think we'll be playing as Clem. Or someone completely new. There's a possibility that there could be multiple protagonists as well, but we'll see.
I doubt Christa, becau.se there was nothing leading up to her becoming the protagonist.
Yeah since we played as an adult, then a child. Now we might see the two working together so people don't always ask the child to do things for them.
Well, there will be a 2 years time skip, If Christa is alive, she should be heading to willington, and if you choosed to save Jane, she may cross up with you on Howes, and if you stayed with Kenny, then you should find her in wellington after those 2 years. ( Seeing on your POV, there would be no other possible protagonist besides Clementine...)
It will be 1 of the following 2: Clem or new character
Or it could be 2 characters like in TFTB and one of them could be Clementine or it could be multiple characters like in GoT or maybe something completely new
Why couldn't it be Christa?
I hope not. I don't see playing as her very enjoyable. My roleplaying side would insist that I tell everyone to mind their own business while prying into theirs.
Jokes aside I can't really see it nor do I want it.
She's a good character but I don't think she's a playable character, as in I didn't like her enough to make me want to play as her.
I think you need a new person so you get a different feel at the start of the game. Like with Lee.

I will say what's the point in starting a thread if you're asking about people about the 'different' protagonist they will maybe use, but saying anything other than christa, you're saying why can't it be her?

I'm also not dismissing the fact that it could be christa. I just don't want it to be, and I don't believe that's the step telltale would make for season 3

I would welcome the idea of Christa being the protagonist, or at the least a playable character. Her personality is flexible enough to allow for several personality paths based on choices, and it would give us an opportunity to learn more of how much both of them had changed since the time skip and what they had been through.
Clementine as a playable character in Season 2 didn't work out for me, so I'd be happy to have her as a supporting character and have Christa (assuming she's the protagonist) witness how Clementine have changed since their separation.
And, on an interesting note, it would continue the trend of African Americans being cast as the protagonist of each season.

But how do you know the time skip will be 2 years exactly?
They said it would be closer to the comics, which would be around ( not exactly ) 2 years (

Season 2 was designed to be playable with or without having played Season 1, so it stands to reason Season 3 will be as well. I think there will be a new protagonist. It may be someone we've met before, but it won't be Clementine, since Kirkman says only "we'll be checking in with Clementine".

I don't want Telltale to overuse the multiple protagonist format just because they can; I'd rather they reserve that for stories where the source material benefits from focusing on multiple characters at once. In a setting like Walking Dead, I think it would be more intimate to focus on one character, not to mention it would place more consequence on the choices you make.
I don't want to play as christa, though I want to see her again. as far as clementine, I feel we should have 2 protag. clementine and a new character, and I want some of the old/still living but missing characters to return.. since we have 2/3 yr gap I would love to see some of them again and see some changes
I really don't see us playing as Christa. As far as I know, that story was meant to be left as open-ended. It was heavily hinted that she was killed back in season 2, but there was still a chance she made it out alive. Either way, she was separated from Clementine. I think we'll be introduced to a completely new character that we haven't met before as our protagonist. Maybe there will be some references or sightings of Clem (or Christa) but I think the story will be taken in a different direction for this season. This way, if it's a new character, Clementine can still technically continue with the ending we gave her at the end of season 2.
Of course, I think she will take a considerable part of season 3, but the protagonist will be a new character.
