Nate and Russel! Nate and Russel! That would've been a cool one to see go on for just a little bit longer, just because Nate was funny but kind of threatening at the same time and I worried for Russel. In general I'd just love to see Nate again, either as an antagonist or sort of in the middle.
Russel and Nate. Nate is so crazy I want to see him again also Russel's story was the best in the dlc IMO. Vince is okay too I like the mystery that revolves around him.
They were all interesting. I don't see why people complain about certain characters being "lame" or "a wimp" or boring. It takes all kinds. I enjoy seeing how people with vastly different personalities function in an apocalyptic setting. It makes it more realistic, rather than having everyone be a "Mary Sue" type character. I think all the protagonists in 400 Days has promise and were nuanced, unlike in Season 2 where you had a majority of "filler" characters as the result of lazy writing. That said, ALL of the stories in 400 Days should have/could have been a bit longer. Telltale was somewhat limited by the format they released it in though.
Russell's story had a lot to develop between himself, Nate, and the group he was with that was headed by Steve. Maybe his grandma, too.
Bonnie is a recovering drug addict who met up with Leland and Dee and ended up getting ditched by the former after the latter assumes adultery. It would be nice to see how any of the rest of that happened.
Wyatt and Eddie clearly had a lot of other things happen to them that wasn't explored, between Wyatt being saved by Vince, Eddie shooting a guy's brains out unknowingly, and him being set to appear in the second season.
Shel's story mostly because of everything that could've developed with Becca, but also how they ended up at the diner.
Meanwhile, Vince is just Lee minus the backstory. I don't see why I should be compelled to care about him when the most we really have on him is "I helped my brother." Basically, he had a wasted personality that boils down to sometimes helping people on a whim, maybe.
I wish Telltale would do vignettes of where characters were/what happened at the onset of the outbreak. They did with Lee and Vince, but it would have been cool to see how other characters reacted. Were they at work, home, on the road, etc? Who was with them originally? Where did they turn for help? We won't see because it really has no bearing on Clementine or the story's progression, but still would be interesting. I kind of see a Pineapple Express like moment with Wyatt and Eddie being stoned and discovering people who want to eat them. lol
Anyone that wasn't Vince, because:

Russell's. I always thought his one ended somewhat on the short side, that was probably because I was having more fun on his story than anyone else's though.
A lil off topic but that's how I felt about Michonne. I knew she would survive so that eliminated any fear. I really didn't care about a single other character. I just played the game more how I or Michonne would but it all didn't Matter.. Like the choices. So what who I sided with or saved, in the end, Michonne would live and return to Rick's group. All the rest was just filler!
I agree with what you're saying. When Telltale's games have used an already established character like Michonne or Bigby from TWAU, I've alw… moreays felt a sort of obligation (silly, I know), to play the way "they" would, not how I would. Both their personalities are radically different from mine, so that's always been a stretching point for me.
I enjoyed TWAU and am enjoying Michonne's story, but that itch is still there.
Russell's. They need to bring my homie Nate back into Season 3. What if you could play as him.... In my opinion it would be awesome playing as a villian like Nate or Carver for once.
I think 400 Days should've focused solely on Bonnie b/c she's the only 400 Days character that is actually in S2. I don't necessarily find her story compelling or anything, but since she is the one who umtimatley joins Clem's group it makes more sense that 400 Days would follow Bonnie.
I kind of agree. Also we know the least about her compared to the others. She did some kind of drugs and was rehabilitated by a nice middle-aged couple. What else???

Ideally I'd like to fill in all the missing links/connections between all 5 stories i.e. We take on the role of Vince/Bonnie (Vince because his story starts on day 1, Bonnie because she gets the most attention in S2) and see how they all meet up before arriving at the camp and meet Tavia. All the mini stories would be included as flashbacks as they tell their story of how they got there.
If we are just picking one though...
I think my first choice would be Bonnies. I always felt her story was the shortest and yet there is so much more they could have done with her history with Leland and Dee. How did Leland and Dee meet? How did they meet Bonnie? What made them take her in? How long did her recovery take. I would of liked to see some of her recovery struggles. Plus, Like others have mentioned, she's the only 400 Days char in S2 so hers would tie in best to S2.
Second choice would be Wyatt purely for Eddie and Nate. Eddie and Nate were both great additions for very different reasons! It'd have been nice to know what really went down before the chase and what happened after Eddie and Wyatt got seperated. Did they ever manage to find each other again? (I hope they did!) Did they ever bump into Nate again?
Third is kind of a tie between Vince and Shel. I want to say Vince because I preferred his character (and he didn't have an annoying sister) but being chained and confined inside a prison bus kinda limits the options though they could have always continued the story after they broke out. However, Shel seemed to get the longest story of the 5 and had the biggest group to interact with so there was certainly alot more potenetial there. It also would have been nice to chat with the cancer survivors from S1 and learn more about Vernon and the boat. I also really liked Stephs character so it would have been nice to get to know her better (and Roman) too.
I wasn't a massive fan of Russells character and don't think much more could have been done there.
Shel for the bigger group and hubs, plus the melancholy of her group slowly becoming a dictatorship is something new. Vince because he and whomever he didn't shoot could have a cool "two guys against the world" thing. Like a bromance? Trying to keep BOTH your pasts secret, or not, and if one relapses in some way, trying to keep them out of it. I feel like there's some comedic potential there too. Wyatt, Eddie, Nate and Russel etc too because their dynamics are great and Nate is amazing

i wasn't a fan of 400 days, because you jumped right in. in S1 you had the car ride with the cop to ease you into lee's shoes so to speak, and things developed sort of naturally. in 400 days you hop right into the middle of things, and when making decisions i tended to look at things like i would instead of how the character would (which gets really annoying, really fast due to the options not lining up with what i know what to do).
so i guess my answer would be to pick one, then add a before part to the whole thing to ease into the character. bonnie's seems like the natural choice due to her involvement in S2, but it isn't a very strong pick for me.
Shel. Develop her relationship with Stephanie so her "betrayal" means more and show how her dynamic with Becca changed over time.
Also, show off the Cancer group a little more so we can get a better idea of who each of them are and why they ended up exchanging one tyrant for another.
Develop Roman a little more as well. Perhaps expanding on Dee's theft and ensuing karma while you're at it.
I'd have an easier time picking the story I didn't want to be longer, but I'd probably go with Wyatt. It holds the one cliffhanger that could possibly never be solved and that saddens me. Cliffhangers, ugh. Come on TellTale, that one was fucked.
Russell's story was definitely my favourite, mainly because of the contrast between the two characters, Russell and Nate, and how they interacted. I would have liked Russells story to have been longer just to see what would have happened if Russell had stayed with Nate. Also I really hope Nate is in Season 3, he's such an interesting character (one of my favourites)
Comments
Shel's or Bonnie's story.
I really dislike Russel's and the main reason is Nate.
I thought bigby was fun but that'd nothing compared to what Nate has goin on in his mind
Honestly there are too many questions after that dlc for it not to come back and matter later
But maybe I'm hopeful
Vince, Wyatt, and Russel.
they were all very cool characters and it's sad we'll never see them again.
...boo :P
Definitely Vince

Russel and Nate. Nate is so crazy I want to see him again also Russel's story was the best in the dlc IMO. Vince is okay too I like the mystery that revolves around him.
Bonnie is by far the worse of the lot
Give me more Shel and Becca already.
Wyatt's story is the most interesting to me

Shel and Becca's story was probably the one that could have carried out a longer story. I liked Vince, but he seemed too close to Lee.
Vince, that prison thing was really nice
Anyone that wasn't Vince, because:

Vince's story without a doubt.
Bonnie's story LOL
You know, romantic drama + action LOL :DDD
Vince's. It was most interesting out of them all, in my opinion.
Wyatt, there's so much mystery left in that one.
Russell's. I always thought his one ended somewhat on the short side, that was probably because I was having more fun on his story than anyone else's though.
I'd have gone with Wyatt.

[like this comment to cheer me up]
[not really, though]
[okay, but only if you really really want to]

Lilly4Season3 hasn't logged in for more than a month, though!
They shall be remembered as one more mysterious disappearance.
Russell, Bonnie story I like from 400 days
Russell's. And no, it's not because of Nate. I also loved Vince, but I liked Russell's story a little bit more.
Russell or Wyatt I felt their stories were the shortest.
