What would happen if ***** were still alive and ****** was dead?

What if Rodrik didn't survive from the Red Wedding and Ethan continues to be Lord of House Forrester and was never killed by Ramsay?

  • Ethan Forrester was one of my favourite playable characters in the game, losing only to Mira. His death had a great impact on me, I did not expect that, but it is ok, his death is also something that I love about the story. Ethan was no warrior, and due to the family's situation, that would put him on check by the Whitehills. However, I must assume that I was prepared to play Ethan as a true strategist, someone cold, calculist, capable of using anyone, even his family, in a way that Rodrik or Asher never would. Indeed, my Ethan kept silence when Ramsay grabbed Talia. I think that Asher would join the house safely (with the sentinel's sacrifice of course). Ethan then would have Asher married to Gwyn only to take her as their hostage (he would manipulate Asher into this, also, the Forrester's condition is critical). To Ludd family is important, besides, she is the best living memory of his wife. My Ethan would not care about Ryon at all. What happens from there is more speculation, but yeah, the Forresters are pretty fucked.

  • I guess similar stuff could have happened, but when going to meet Asher the other person on the wheel would probably be a generic soldier or royland and so Asher would always survive, meaning he would always be Lord.

  • It would've been pretty interesting. Imagine the standing up to Gryff scene as Ethan. It would've been awesome and I think they could've done it. Even maiming Gryff could've been possible. The gate scene and other big battles would be where it gets tricky.

  • I don't think Ethan would be able to handle what Rodrik handled when he came home. Honestly, him dying was a mercy compared to what coulda happened to him: getting beaten into the mud, humiliated. I think the Whitehills woulda killed him if Ramsay didn't.

    1. Gryff would give a similar beating to Ethan like Rodrik's at ep 3.
    2. Harys would make more fun of Ethan and Gryff will push Ethan to ground to get inside the house.
    3. No sex scenes at ep 5.
    4. Elaena will come to Ethan and plan to help the forresters
    5. Maiming Gryff could be either possible or impossible
    6. Ethan has the option to Slap the traitor instead of punching him
    7. The traitors punishment might be similar to Erik at ep 1
    8. Ethan wouldn't have to go get Asher instead he will send Men and get Asher out of there ASAP
    9. Ethan would have been dead at ep 6 and Asher gets a killing spree.

I don't think Asher would come back to Westeros if Ethan didn't send Malcom to find Asher, normally the player had a choice of sending Malcom to find Asher, but that choice became irrelevant moments later because Ethan died, Malcom would find Asher regardless for the sake of story progress. But if Ethan wasn't killed by Ramsay, then probably the player's choices would still matter and Asher coming back to Westeros will become determinant. Maybe he won't come back as a lord :/

  • He would have continued on the character development that I planned for him...I was originally going to play him as a young boy lord who keeps growing more mature and colder as he becomes the lord that his house needed.

  • It would be a lot worse for Ethan, not only because he is younger and weaker, but because at least Gryff and the garrison (mainly Gryff) always had this very subtle underlying fear of Rodrik that kept them from going completely all out. I feel like Ethan would just be an easy target and unlike Rodrik he wouldn't be able to physically endure the abuse.
