Will you play Seasons 1 and 2 again prior to Season 3?

edited June 2016 in The Walking Dead

I'm just curious how different people approached the games.

I will probably play both again to start Season 3 with a save file I'm happy with.

Did you play through 1 and 2 multiple times to explore the different dialogue options and choices, or did you play each game once making choices closest to your own nature?

  • Since I'm going to be playing Season 3 on a PC (and my save files for Season 1 and 2 are on my Xbox), I may just play Season 1/2 on PC again with my choices just so I can get my save file up there.

  • Well I'm gonna have to. :p

I did do multiple playthroughs of seasons 1 & 2. But they're on Xbox 360. I play on the Xbox One now.

  • Probably. I alter my play through with some different dialogue options, or maintain the mental script of my previous plays, I treat it like it were an actual series.

Of course, I still want to play the Michonne mini series first. Whatever comes first.

  • In the middle of doing so. Finished S1E1 a couple days ago, and I am actually excited for E2. Even though i've played it like a million times.

  • Season 1 no, but S2 I have to since i lost my saves along with my old pc so I'll replay with my old choices :P

  • Yeah I'm going to have to. I originally played both seasons on PS3 but now I want to play on my PS4 for obvious reasons. Luckily I already have season 1 and they gave out season 2 for free for ps plus members.

  • I replayed Season 1/400 Days for Season 2, but I probably won't do the same this time around since there are so many episodes now. I'm content with just jumping into Season 3 without replaying earlier episodes this time around.

  • I finished Season 1 again 3 months ago. I'm gonna finish TWD S2 after I finish TWAU.

  • Maybe we could have a community replay after the season 3 reveal tomorrow? Like we all play an episode a day or every few days or whatever until we're done. We did that on the TWD telltale reddit, it was pretty fun to come back and discuss each episode after such a long time

  • Oh Heck yeah...in middle of season one...enjoying it a lot.

Definitely. I played both seasons on my PC but my PC's broken, so I have to purchase them again on my PS4. I won't be able to play them anytime soon though because i'm broke :/

I've had this idea in the back of my head that I would get the S1+400 days bundle on PS4 and play through it all on PS4, but on the other hand I played S1 on PS3 and S2 on PS4 and honestly when I realized the effect of my choices just boils down to a handful of minor dialogue differences I didn't really care, most of the random choices even ended up being what I did anyway. Add to that my S2 game save messed up during episode 4 and none of my choices were saved anyway, so the idea of replaying just for the save to possibly mess up at the end isn't too comforting. Lastly, while the idea of playing these games again sounds good, especially since I really enjoyed them, upon actually doing it you realize how little replayability there is. So much content is exactly the same and you realize your choices have very little effect.

  • Is there anyone else here that's replayed both seasons...SO MANY TIMES, that they lost track of how many times they replayed it?

  • I will not be replaying S1 or S2. I made a vow that the first decision I made would be the one I go with to the end. S3 I left lilly, I tried to save Larry, Saved Carley, Saved Ben, Looked Away from Kenny getting shot and left him behind at Wellington. I am happy with where I am at right now

  • There are different save lots..

  • Well, I re-played both seasons a good few times, but I won't be re-playing them for S3. I'm just going jump straight in.

  • I'll probably get a shit ton of soda and snacks and just marathon through the whole series the day before the first episode of Season 3 comes out.

  • I've played the first season more times than I can count. I think I've replayed through the whole second season like three times. I've replayed All That Remains multiple times, A House Divided multiple times, In Harm's Way multiple times, but I've only played through Amid the Ruins and No Going Back like three times.

  • I'm down.

  • Yes!!

  • Yes. I will. I haven't played in a while as my laptop is broken, so I'll need to refresh my memory.

  • Definitely! In fact, how about we all have one big marathon of both seasons right before S3 premieres?

I will definitely replay Season 1 and 2 as a refresher it's been awhile since I played. When it comes to choices I usually do both, first according to how I would deal with situation then I go back and play the different options just to see the various results.

  • I replayed Season 1 and 2 a few weeks ago. I'm more happy with the choices I made this time.

At minimum, I've played it at least 10 times. And that's the minimum. Total times I've played it, I have no idea. And I don't replay too many games, so if I actually replay a game multiple times, that's saying something.

  • I upgraded my Telltale collection to PS4 and played through them pretty recently, so I don't think so. I've already played it through the "canon" way, according to my mind, and I'm more than happy to jump to Season Three with my choices.

  • personally i think that knowing what will happen in the game distorts your decisions and diminishes from the experience. the game is very linear, and things that appear the matter at one moment may not be important the next. would anyone really try and be nice with arvo the first time around if you knew he was going to send his party after you for the theft (even if all you took was his gun). the best argument i have heard for picking kenny is that if you do pick him he does end up righting himself instead of falling apart like he appears to be doing. in S1 knowing everyone will die, why try to save anyone?

i have my playthrough, the decisions i made make it mine. the only time i reloaded is when i lost, or the decisions turned out to be opposite of what i thought they were (no replaying things to see different choices to try and make the best one). few of the decisions are what i would have made personally, i got myself in the mindset of the character and played through as if i was in his shoes with his experiences (to the best of my abilities of course). the only way i'd have different choices is if i was gaming the system, or not really being in character, both things don't appeal to me.

  • Definitely, even though I've played both seasons at least 8 times.

  • It all depends on what I see in E3, and even then I'll probably just replay the last bit of No Going Back to get my main man Kenny back :p

  • The day before, I'm marathoning Season 1, 2, and Micchone.

  • I usually play towards my true nature and I'm quite comfortable with the choices I made so very long ago. I would only usually replay these games to relive how good they were.

  • Thread: replay S1 and S2 before S3

Who here wants to play the whole S1 and S2 again before playing S3. I plan on playing S1 and S2 over again as i haven't played the games for awhile and need to get me int the mood and feel of the games again.

I sold my xbox 360 and brought a xbox one so i need to start buying S1 and S2 again and play them all over again from the very start as all my data is gone from my xbox 360 of TWD games. So i be starting from S1 then i go on to S2 then S3. I can once again get into the mood of the games, i miss Clementine so much.

  • Not me. I've replayed the heck out of S1 and S2. I left Lilly, I am at Wellington, let Jane die. I'm feeling pretty confident going into Season 3

  • I might replay them, but only because I'm switching my main Telltale platform from PC to PS4. Believe it or not, they run better on my PS4 than on my old ass store bought PC. Season 2 was free with PS+ a while back, so all I'd have to buy is Season 1, I'm still considering wether or not to do that.

  • I like to replay the earliest versions, before release of the new season. And I always play more than once, to find out more details in choices and character dialogues. And guys, I want to advise you to buy xbox live membership at the trustworthy sites, so you can play freely and without any bans.

  • I played them both on february this year and I replayed season 2 like a month ago, I don't think I will play it yet again before season 3 so it doesn't get too confusing ( BY having different choices )

  • I actually tried to replay it the other day but it needed to update and while doing so it said it needed 10,000 minutes left to complete the update so I just shut it off.

  • You might need to do it a couple days before because I don't think you'd have enough time to play all of them in a single day.

The day before, I'm marathoning Season 1, 2, and Micchone.

  • I'm gonna replay S1, 400 Days and S2 one episode a week when it gets close. Been a while since I played the previous seasons.

  • i have no choice to start all over again from S1 because i sold my xbox 360 and got a xbox one.

I might replay them, but only because I'm switching my main Telltale platform from PC to PS4. Believe it or not, they run better on my PS4 t
