How Would You Handle Kenny/Jane
I am currently in Wellington with AJ at the end of Season 2 FYI
They would both appear, no doubt about that.
However(prepare for incoming hatred), I would have Kenny die at the end of the first episode at the hands of the new villains. You'll be hard pressed to find a bigger Kenny apologist than me. However, I truly feel like his story has run its course. If he's alive in your game, than he redeemed himself at the end by sacrificing his own safety so Clem and AJ could be safe. I can't think of a better way for people to hate the new villain more than if they killed of Kenny in their first appearance(Like how Negan kills Glenn in his first appearance).
As for Jane, I would handle her differently. Her story can still be expanded(She's dead for me though:( ). She would live until around Episode 3 and than go out in a blaze of glory saving Clementine like she couldn't with Jamie.
So, what do you guys think? And how would you handle it?

I think they should get equal amount of screentime, regardless of how much it is, simply to make it "fair". I mean, sure, Kenny has had tons of development on Jane already but I feel like killing one off sooner than the other would give a vibe of "oops, this choice was bad, sucks for you" and it'd just make people angrier or something.
peace in the forums 2k16
Every determined character dies no matter what, so them moving on to one specific starting point for the next game means they're both dead and explained away in one line of dialogue. How I'd handle the characters would be to still end up in the same place as Clementine (theres no way around that) and have them as interchangable characters like Kaidan and Ashley from Mass Effect.
Well they are both determinant which means they are on borrowed time until their impending doom. But I hope that Kenny/Jane are involved in the new season (not like the five minutes we had with Christa and Omid) for at least an episode or two. I want Kenny to kinda take over Lees role and be like a father to Clem before he dies tragically. And I want to get to know Jane better and see a softer side in her before she sacrifices herself for Clem and redeems herself for Jamie. That will help with the replay value and it will feel like our choice actually mattered for once.
For both characters, I would reduce their screen-time and importance to the main story to allow for other characters to have their time to shine, as I felt that both Kenny and Jane had took too much of the spotlight from Clementine and the Cabin Group in Season 2.
I would also explore the dire consequences of choosing to remaining loyal with either character, showing that their actions and behavior will end up cause more harm towards themselves, Clementine, and other survivors in the long run.
And should they need to die or go missing in Season 3, have their fate not occur in the same instance as one and another. For instance, have Kenny die in an earlier episode than Jane could die, in order to highlight how different each determinant character operates in a new direction.
I honestly wouldn't mind if Kenny does not appear at all in S3. His story ended perfectly (if you pick to stay in Wellingto)
What I would do is if you stayed in Wellington he would not appear at all. But if you went with him he would die in the first episode like you said.
Jane could die off screen (honestly don't care about her lol)
I want Kenny to live for a long long time. In fact I'd like to see him be the one determinate character to live, seeing as every other dertminate got killed off an episode or two later.
And with that said, I'm honestly sick of Telltale throwing away a character after you go through the trouble to save them.
I'd imagine they'll both be killed off.
What if the player imports a save file where both Kenny and Jane were killed?
I'm not really sure they would bother to make a difference between the variations in the alone ending. But... Who knows? I could be very wrong.
Be nice if their suggestions of a novel way to handle the endings would be to have multiple distinct but similar story arcs. I figure they'll deal with it in some cheap way where they'll die or disappear.
What would I do?
Alright, so first off, Kenny and Jane would play a similar role within the season, taking the place of one another depending on which one is alive. Kind of like Carley/Doug. If neither of them are there, they are replaced by a third new character, one who comes to be a friend of Clementine, and later a friend of Javier.
Which means it'd go something like this
Alone: Clementine + new character
At Wellington: Clementine + new character
Stayed with Kenny: Clementine + Kenny
Abandoned Jane/Kenny: Clementine + new character
Stayed with Jane (both endings): Clementine + Jane
Now as for actually tying the endings into one another, that's whole different subject, so let's just keep this at Kenny and Jane for now.
As for AJ, there's a few ideas. For one, you could either have him be left at Wellington in the Kenny ending, or with the family in the Jane ending if you let them in. Of course, that only accounts for 2 of the endings, which means you'd still have to find a way to get rid of him in the other 3 endings, and preferably in a way that doesn't involve killing him simply because you can't figure out any better way to write him out of the story.
But back to the original point: I'd handle it largely like Carley/Doug, or for another example, Duncan/Royland in GoT. Only difference is that this time, there's three different characters that could sharing the same role depending on the player's choices. They all largely play the same role as a secondary character in the story, but each with their own unique comments, personalities, and interactions with other characters. Let's just say, for example, if you have Kenny with you, you could try to ask him how he got out of Savannah, and he'd finally relent and tell you what really happened. If you're with Jane, you could get her to talk more about her sister, and try to help her come to terms with it a bit more, since it's something she's still quite obviously suffering with, despite what she says. And if it's the new third character... who knows? Maybe they talk about lollipops or some shit, I dunno.
But yeah, that's how I'd handle them, more or less. I'd go into more detail, but I haven't thought that deeply about it. I mean, I've had ideas pop into my head over the years, but I'm not working at Telltale, so there isn't much I can do with those ideas, other than try to write a fanfic or something, but that isn't really my style.

I'd have Kenny and Jane live until the end of the Season but with both having another set of determinant deaths this Season as a way to say "You saved them but you're gonna have to make more sacrifices if you want to keep them alive, are they worth it to you?".
