  • I feel bad for Sam. He's gonna get like 10 min of screen time in the season finale and he was supposed to be the mirror of Bran in his training.

And he hasn't even heard about what happened to Jon.

It makes sense that that stubborn old crab would go out fighting but I still wanted him to live and fight with his family. All this time wai

  • Oh really? Well, we still have two seasons. I'm confident that Sam is really going to come into his own before its all done.

  • What would you have Jamie do here...., he essentially saved a massive number of both forces. Edmure might be cowardly but he saved his house.

Edmure always was weak. Im not super surprised about that but I was so hoping that he wouldnt just yield and Blackfish is just gone? Im so d

  • Eh, it's alright for the most part. I'd rate it at least a 8/10. Not the worst episode but definitely not the best, either. However, I did end up disliking the Jaime scenes mostly cause of the "I only care for my sister" bullshit.

  • Good episode

    Positives

    • Loved the Tully vs Lannister/Frey. I liked that Jamie managed to solve it peacefully
    • The reunions in those storylines were also fun
    • I choose violence was cool
    • Mereen was okay, Missandei and Grey worm were actually kind of likeable
    • Upcoming battles seem exciting
    • Arya chase scene was awesome

    Meh

    • Is it bad I want tommem to die a painful death? Like he knows hes going to die and gets betrayed or something...
    • There was a bit too much fanservice this episode but I still liked most of it

    Negatives

    • I dont like that they cut away from the fighting both for the Blackfish and Arya, though I guess with arya is sort of worked.
  • they basically confirmed that their shitty writing in the previous episode was indeed shitty. it was stupid for Arya to be stupid enough to go around

She got cocky, Arya is like that. Plus to be honest if they hadnt Id feel arya was getting a bit OP, just to defeat a faceless man so easily. This added a lot of dread and adversity, I was actually a bit worried this episode for her even though I was certain she wouldnt die.

and finally the Arya stuff: .... how did they ruin this so bad?

Dont see how they ruined it, it hasnt been the best but the arc has yet to conclude in the books yet

in my head its that Arya planned it all out

I very much doubt that, why cant you handle arya genuinely finding it hard to kill an assassin?

dont get how TWO, well maybe only David, book writters that have actually done two, again just Benioff, praised books (from what ive heard) how can they go and ruin shit like this? like how? you're suppose to be good writers? how? just how?

I'm kind of sick of people bitching about them constantly, you liked the rest of the stuff right and ruin what? The only thing I really wanted from this was Arya warging but I get that they want that to be Bran alone so hes more unique.

ok so my "review" that i dont think it was a bad episode, just think that the episode gave bad conclusions to some very bad story arcs. well

Here's another perspective to Jaime in this episode: as much as to many he is the bad guy and Blackfish the hero, Jaime managed to resolve the siege without a drop of blood being shed, while Blackfish was ready to see thousands die for keeping Riverrun.

To achieve this Jaime had to come off as threatening to Edmure, but it worked.

I am so with you on people bashing D&D because theyre not George Martin. Theyre doing the best they can with what they have while Martin is still trying to complete his last two books. Not everything is perfect but I think theyve been doing a pretty decent job.

So he thinks now. When Jaime leaves, then what? Yes, I know on the face of it it seems like the right thing to do, but you never trust a Frey. I guess the show couldnt have us wait out a two year siege but having this whole thing be over in one episode and the Freys just march in, is very unsatisfying. And the way Edmure just gave over his uncle was pretty pitiful. My opinion of him stands. Blackfish might have been stubborn as hell, but at least he stood for something. Edmure just seems like a jellyfish. My opinion of Jamie "Ill burn the world and break every oath I made to get back to my sister" Lannister stands too. I'll never trust him.

What would you have Jamie do here...., he essentially saved a massive number of both forces. Edmure might be cowardly but he saved his house.

  • Is it bad I want Tommen to die a painful death

    Nah, I want that too.

Good episode Positives * Loved the Tully vs Lannister/Frey. I liked that Jamie managed to solve it peacefully * The reunions in tho

  • Any idea where House Forrester might be in the background of the Season 6 storyline so far?

  • I am going to laugh if it turns out that Episode 1 of Season 6 was the only episode of the season to feature the Sand Snakes and Dorne. The way it currently is, it is like they treat Dorne like it never existed.

  • The epsiode was good , although i kinda wanted to see a little bit more of the north , since lot seems to happen there .

But here are my predictions for the next episode :

    • _Jon as planned goes into winterfell , and ask for a duel so that thousands of people be spared , Ramsey refuses and somehow bring rickon and kill him , they then start to rush into battle

    • _Jon's army seems to get through , but they lost heavy casualities ,we then see Davos having a slowmotion moment where he sees wildlings and stark soldier getting killed ( Saving private ryan style ) . But when all seems all lost , we hear someone blowing a horn afar. And Manderlys , Cerwyns , Reeds , and some other minor houses , charge into the battle , and wins .

    • _Tormund then manages to find the umber lord and fights him, and probably wins ,

    • _Jon somehow mange to find ramsey in the battlefield and duel him , Jon win but spare him .

    • The Boltons either surrender or fights to death ,

    • _We then see the credits followed by the stark victory soundtrack .

Also i know some people kinda want littlefinger to come instead and save the day , but if he does saves the stark , it wouldn't be glorious at all since he kinda caused everything that happened to the starks by killing jon Arryn .And i wouldn't shout for the stark's victory if i knew that it was this guy who helped them . Since he's the reason they ended up there in the frist place , he's like the stark's worst enemy .I'd rather see lannisters helped them get back Winterfell .

  • So we had lots of deaths this time, but who is the Beautiful Death of the week? Probably Waif, and I'd guess the picture in some way shows her bleeding face in the Hall of Faces. And the line could be either "Finally a girl is no one" or "A girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell, and I'm going home". Or if they take a line from earlier episode it could be "One way or another, a face will be added to the hall."

  • Fucking Tommen.

  • Is it bad I want tommem to die a painful death?

Eh, I don't think he actually deserves death, however he is incredibly stupid, though.

  • Tommen cancelled cleganebowl was looking forward to that.

Honestly this episode really makes me worry for the quality of the rest of the series, which I've never felt before with GOT. The whole Arya part was so bullshit. She survives getting stabbed in the gut and falling into shit water without getting an infection, and can soon parkour around no trouble? I thought Arya was supposed to be smart what was she doing walking around, admiring the view, showing off that she was a rich Westrosi. I thought it was an elaborate plan but NOPE she was just being an idiot strutting around in broad daylight when she knew assassins would be coming after her.

  • I have no sympathy for Tommen whatsoever. Anyone else feel l ike they've dragged this trial out for too long

    1. She is not idiot but she is a child. 2. She didn't know the FM would come after her. Now, whether she should've guessed it is another question.

  • I'll judge that after I've seen what this leads up to. Judging KL's storyline this season at this point is like judging a movie just before the climax. Of course now it feels like endless build up, but something big will happen in ep 10.

I'd also say KL in season 6 is a storyline that will work better in a binge watch.

  • What if.. Varys goes in Dorne to make an alliance for Daenerys?

  • Seems the most likely, I really hope they dont have him go back to kings landing like the books and they give that part to Qyburn instead. As im guessing Kevan and Pycelle bite it before the end of the season.

  • Chances are that the Forresters won't appear in the show other than a small mention. To give them any bigger role means making only one set of choices in the game canon, which makes the idea of choice pointless.

  • To who, though? Tyrion states that an alliance with the Tyrells is possible, but won't be enough to take Westeros. The Starks might join her assuming they win at Winterfell, assuming Daenerys gives them control of the North, and the Boltons might offer their loyalty in exchange for getting the North back (assuming they lose Winterfell but aren't wiped out).

  • Would be interesting if Qyburn uses the mountain (necromancy) to kill the maester, after he lost his position at the citadel for studying necromancy. I agree, I would rather give this part to Qyburn.

  • Well, if he goes in Dorne, it's to get the Dornishmen. The actor has been spotted there. Still it could mean nothing.

  • I am honestly glad that some, like you, are able to see beyong their hatred for incest or Cersei, and see the scene as it was. Many just want to see Jaime x Brienne happening ( I am not talking about wolfenus but some people on another website ) and completely ignore how smart of Jaime it was.

When he lost his hand, Jaime lost his ability to fight as well, therefore he has to learn to handle these kind of problem another way. Jaime knows many hate him, see him as a dangerous man who lacks of honor and empathy, and while he explained his point of view to both Catelyn and Brienne in the past, he didn't truly try doing it with Edmure because he is ''above him'' at that moment. Instead of defending himself from a comment that obviously did hurt him ( if you pay attention to his face at the moment and at what he said in the past few season about being bothered by the judgement of people in things they clearly don't know much about ) he still used it at his advantage. The point of view they have of him, that bothers him so much, becomes one of his weapon.
In clear, he was bluffing. The mention of Cersei was more him trying to get Edmure to understand how far he could go for his sister, when he knows very well that House Tully values '' Family, duty, honor''.
'' The things I do for love '' becomes ''The thing we do for love'', it's really nice because indirectly he does answer Edmure's question of '' How he convinces himself he is a good man''...
I personnally loved the scene, the bluff, the references to the first season, the very question of '' Did Jaime really became the honorable knight people like to think he is after season 3 '' at wish I have my opinion on, and both Nikolaj's ( who's nominated at Emmy's by the well, shameless publicity ) and Tobias acting.

Another beautiful artwork by Robert Ball. Is that the North that I see in there? Anyway, it's cool.

Edit: Holy shit, I didn't even realize at first that it's the candle that Arya slashed to darken the room. Man, these are so awesome :D

  • I hope the art for the Battle of the Bastards will be just as good. :)
