  • Yeah the exact same thing happened to me with episode 4 and it used to pause before Qte's

  • Season 1: the Crawford glitch where you are unable to do anything after getting the car battery and talking to Ben. I replayed that episode so many times!!

Otherwise, not much. Season 1 was very well-written. I connected with most of the characters, even the ones with minor roles. I do think it was a shame that Carley or Doug didn't have a bigger impact on the story after being the big decision in the first episode. Lee's bite could have been handed better too in my opinion. Like have him get bit in a walker fight on his way to rescue Clementine.

Season 2: So many things! Mainly that Kenny was written as almost an antagonist and became so irritating it was almost a relief to shoot him. That was a poor direction to take a fan favourite character. His rehabilitation as a character would have been better. I also disliked the use of so many filler characters that served no purpose other than rounding out the group temporarily, only to up the body count later. Who gave a damn about Carlos, Alvin, Mike, or even Rebecca for that matter? Jane, Bonnie, and Nick were the only characters that had any depth to them. Telltale just threw Nick away like it was too much trouble to write about anything but Kenny/Jane/Luke drama. They could have done better by Sarah too. Why make us deal with her sorry butt only for her death to be inevitable? Like Kenny, she had the potential to make a turn around. It would have been more gratifying. I also didn't like Bonnie's uncharacteristic betrayal (she had redeemed herself up to that point), and having to choose between Kenny, who was irrational and dangerous, Jane, who was selfish and manipulative, or going it alone with a baby!! Finally, where is Christa??!

  • Most of the deaths being treated very flippantly or used to create drama, and just poor writing in general with not a lot of characterization and complexity.

  • I thought 400 Days was awesome. I wish the individual stories had been longer.

In season 1, it was the all of the constant bugs. The game wouldn't work at all at times. Its like Telltale games released the beta... 40

    • Lee's death
    • Carley's death
    • Molly leaving us

    • Omids death

    • Sam the dogs death (I love animals and absolutely hated that scene :( )
    • 400 days characters (except Bonnie) only getting cameos
    • Too much Kenny
    • Christa never being found
    • Luke's death
    • Not being able to leave with Bonnie and Mike.
    • Kenny vs Jane (should have been Kenny vs Luke)

    -Season 1-

    • Larry being a dick no matter what

    • Lily leaving with the RV no matter what

    • Carly being killed off too soon

    • Kenny acting like a sore loser if you don't help him kill Larry

    • The Stranger's holier-than-thou attitude

    • Molly's snarky attitude

    • Lily's almost constant complaining

    • The entire treatment of Ben's character

    • Around Every Corner dragging too much as an episode

    • The fact that Clementine's parents apparently didn't teach her not to trust strangers

    -Season 2-

    • The way in which Omid is killed

    • Clementine being the protagonist (I just don't think she worked well)

    • The writing as a whole

    • Sam the dog's death

    • The members of the cabin crew getting either very little or rushed character development

    • Most choices not even mattering

    • Very few hubs and simple puzzles

    • Carver being a typical ruthless tyrant

    • Nick's wasted potential and half-assed death in Amid the Ruins

    • The entire treatment of Sarah's character and both of her deaths

    • Sarita basically being Katjaa 2.0

    • The 400 Days characters, sans Bonnie, only making cameo appearances

    • Carlos' death

    • Reggie literally only existing to show how crazy Carver is

    • Luke getting more screen time and focus than any of the other cabin group members

    • Jane and her apologists

    • How many times Kenny is purposefully made to look like a villain or like he's beyond help

    • Clementine having to do practically everything (one of the reasons why I don't like her as the PC)

    • The nonsense with Arvo and the Russians

    • Luke shirking his duties to have sex with Jane

    • Bonnie's flip-floppy personality

    • Kenny vs. Jane

Yeah, I really didn't care for season 2.

  • I would say the only things that really bugged me enough for me to actually say I don't like them were Sarah and Nick's deaths respectively. Both were down to bad/careless writing, as I feel that Sarah's death (after she had lived as long as she could in the game) was very lazy, as if they were banking on the player leaving her in the caravan as a lost cause and didn't know how to take her further. Also after Nick became determinate he had like two lines in Episode 3 and that's it! He died off screen and it seemed like they just needed him gone to continue the story...

Other than that there were minor inconveniences in both seasons but nothing I didn't like really, I just let TellTale tell their tales the way they want and I experience them, but those two were unavoidable to think about.

I don't like TT's throwaway characters. You go through the trouble to save them, and they are killed off anyway.

Another thing I don't like is that they killed Lee off at the end of S1. I think it was a huge mistake.

I also didn't like that there was really no clear message in S2. S1 was about redemption - about a man who commits a wrong - and yet redeems himself by giving his life to save this little girl.

S2 on the other hand, I have no idea what the message was. I just hope S3 isn't like
    that!

  • How the season 2 was rushed... that's it

  • Due to the number of different writers in season 2, the story was just all over the place for me as well.

  • The fate of determinant characters and the lack of actual choice. Oh, and all those pointless "nice guy" characters with no personality outside of just being friendly, such as Omid, Luke, Doug, Mark, Pete, etc. Fucking hate those guys with their stupid smiley fucking faces.

  • I Love TWD game and there are a few things I don't like about it, but overall it is a brilliant game, probably my favourite game of all time. And I know a lot of people don't like it when characters are killed of randomly or 'too soon', but I personally think it makes it more realistic, not everyone would have a dramatic death and people would die at the wrong time in real life.

  • Two playable protagonists.

    about season 2:

    • Bad story, bad writting.
    • clementine as the playable character (the worst decision ever made!).
    • your choices dont matter at all (except in the last 5 minutes of the entire game).
    • the pointles death of many good characters with potential.
    • at least in S1 you had choices with an impact, for example the Kenny/Lilly and Carley/Doug choices, carley and doug were determinant characters, but they still had some impact in the story. In S2 ep 2 if nick is not killed, he barely has 3 lines in episode 3 and then he's killed offscreen in ep 4.
    • the action scenes are bad, thats the problem of playing as a useless little girl, you cant fight properly against anyone, you cant do hand to hand combat. you cant even fire a rifle properly, you cant be tough or brave, you dont have options to attack or act violently or anything like Lee could.
    • you cant interact with the environment.
  • I thought Doug filled a unique role actually. He was a thinker and a builder. He made the alarm system. He saved Lee's life with a laser pointer. He took a bullet for Ben. Just because he was reserved doesn't mean he had no character.

  • Sam the dog's death. Reminded me too much of how my old dog died.

  • Aw man but Omid was great! Ya gotta have someone with humour in the game lol

  • Yeah, out of all the characters I mentioned, Omid was the only one I truly and utterly despised with a passion. The rest were just bland, but Omid, he just really annoyed me for some reason. No idea why so many people love him or Christa for that matter, but god I flippin' hated him.

  • It's not that I don't like a cheerful character in the group, I'd just prefer if they had a bit more personality outside of just being optimistic and happy. And his refusing to jump onto the train when he should have sorta annoyed me, considering he ended up damaging his own leg and turning himself into a liability. But hey, to each his own.

  • Ahh well Omid was scared to jump and depending on choices, he can actually jump without hesitating anyway. I actually thought his character was brilliantly written and he showed an aggressive side outside of his happy personality. If you help him onto the train he'll call you a piece of shit lol. Like you said though each to his own

  • Your choices not really mattering imo. The same end result no matter what you try, say and do. One or two of the love interests not making it. Their attempts at shock value, which to me is often. The pointless casualties. Bringing up certain things and not fully explaining or answering it. Not entirely delving into things about certain characters and just leaving things up to the imagination which is something i'm personally not found of and i'm only speaking for myself. It just would be nice if they finished something they started. I think what I previously said sounded condescending or aggressive or something like that.

  • Yeah That actually felt something missing there.

The walking dead is naturally a game that we are all drawn to irregardless of gameplay or choices; if it were, we would have already left. With that said, it could go from an absolutely frickin amazing game to legendarily epically unforgettable and unspeakably awesome one if it:

-Incorporated more gameplay surrounding logic, skill and problem-solving; it's fair enough if telltale doesn't have the resources or time to incorporate all of our decisions into an intricate artwork of pathways and regrets and choices, but the very least they could do is compensate for this with alternative gameplay, such as finding notes, searching for resources, finding ways to get around obstacles such as walls and alleyways, stuff like the sewer scene from S1 ep4. It would allow for communication between characters, building relationships and completing tasks, as well as touch upon old telltale ways of gameplay (like those from sam and max and back to the future)

-Again, I know this is commonly said and this IS the walking dead, but it only seems like in season 2 they were looking for reasons to dispose of characters and play on our emotions. A story doesn't need to have death to make people sad or arouse emotion; it got to the stage where I started to feel apathetic about the character's deaths, hell, even apathetic about becoming attached to characters because their characterisation came to feel like nothing more than a paper-thin plight to play our emotions with pre-written destinies to die as opposed to being fleshed out, dynamic and purposeful characters with arcs and realistic personalities that conflict with our own aside from the cliche, stock arch-types of, "the weak can't survive," and, "other people are trouble."

Take Sarita; it felt like her only purpose was to show us how crazy Kenny is for losing his second Katjaa. She had a personality- the problem was it relied entirely on Kenny and his character development; she was made to be an equalising force that would throw Kenny off after losing. it was S1 all over again. It was predictable and indicated that the characters were losing meaning, originality and independence aside from being used as plot devices.

Reggie as well- he was only there to show how crazy Carver was! Sarah? To show how if Clem had remained shielded from the world and Lee hadn't helped her, she would have ended up too naive and weak to survive. Jane? Replacement Molly. It felt like almost every character was some excuse or cutout of a stereotype or idea that either wasn't expressed right or wasn't given enough time to develop; they came and went so quickly that I felt it weird that somehow they managed to survive upwards of two years into the apocalypse but became entirely dependent on a little girl days after her arriving and quickly proved themselves incompetent, disorganised and unrealistic. How is it that Carlos as a doctor didn't know what a bite from a human vs a bite from a dog looked like? How is it that Carver found the cabin within days of Clementine arriving? Why do they trust a little girl to fix a wind turbine, search for resources and constantly provide members of the cabin with support and advice if she hasn't even been with them for three days or experienced enough of life to be able to give help surrounding the issues they seem to chuck at her, like pregnancy?

Another thing that really ruined the immersion- the sheer lack of people aside from guards and the 400 days determinant characters at Howes Hardware. How could I care about sending a flood of walkers onto a supposed community of peaceful, faultless people if everything just screams that these people are just a plot device?

-Main thing that irks me as well, and many others (enough to the stage that some don't even want to play)- it's that our choices simply don't matter.

I could go into more detail, but I won't bore on and on. There are many things about this game that I do love very much and have kept me around so long that I just don't want this game to devolve from the masterpiece that was season 1 into something unrecognisable.
