  • Lol that face XD

I hope he isn't THAT much older than Clem cuz I ship them already, they look very cool together like that. Probably should have expected this when making this thread..

  • It grinds my gears when certain people ship clem with someone random person when they don't know how old she is. They don't know how old the person she's being shipped with is. She might not even be interested in a relationship. She might not see the point in one. She might be into people of her same gender. I don't think they factor these things in when shipping her. They just see her with someone and they think aww they're cute together or he's totally hot etc. I ship him with clem. It's of course your opinion and how you feel and what you think. And I mean no disrespect. It's just personally I find it all cringe worthy.

I had the same thought about Javier, being the replacement for the season 3 role Luke should of had but it's fine by me.. Recreating highly similar characters seems to be Telltale's trademark specialty. Had a Molly 2.0 so I cannot wait for a Kenny 2.0. gotta love those hot headed rednecks. Could even be the antagonist doing the 76er's skin branding.

Judging by Javier's appearance and role, I have a feeling that he's meant to be Luke 2.0, and the bond between Clementine and Javier will supposedly make up for Luke's disappointing role (or lack of) in Season 2.

  • It's not intentional. It's just a habit. I sometimes say the same things multiple times.

You seem to be emphasising the word straight very much.

  • The new character Javier is a bit interesting. But I still much rather follow up on Clem's developing journey so I would prefer 80/20 with playable Clementine %80 of the game and playable Javier %20 of the game.

  • I don't mean to sound aggressive and make it seem like i'm attacking anyone because that's not the case. If anyone feels as though that's the case or feel like I am trying to be like that I apologize. I'm friend zoning the guy asap.

    I like him.

    I think he's a good guy :)

It's will be so AMAZINg to play like Javier and Clementine together and see their CO-relationships.

  • Well, there has to be someone attractive, I mean it is realistic. And it is subjective after all.

I think it's a sound business practice. Attractive males are in high demand for straight females and attractive women are in high demand for straight males. It's a fool proof plan to cater to the opposites.

  • Javier better not replace Lee in any way

  • I think people are being too up in arms about Javier. I, for one, welcome our new Walking Dead overlord.

  • The only thing that worries me about Javier is that telltale is going to kill him in Ep 5.

  • I'm shutting down any attempts at a relationship no matter what their age might be. Just because she's a girl and he's a guy doesn't mean they have to be in a relationship or have anything to do with each other romantically.

  • I honestly believe people picked up the idea:

Shipping an adult with a minor is horrible.

  • If Javier so much as makes a pass at Clementine he can say bye bye to his nuts.

  • Clementine's attractiveness should be enough. I agree there should be eye candy for everyone but imo not in twd. I personally believe that a majority of people care about characterization, story, and plot more than they care about eye candy and how attractive someone is in twd. They didn't do that in season one or two letting you play as two different people I mean. And it's not like people asked to play as two different people in season 3 or complained about not being able to do that in season 1 & 2 Unless people did and I missed it on youtube and the internet.

  • I think Javier is a badass. I think he is about 16-17 at most. My reason for the is that the facial hair and his hairstyle. Plus, the current comic Carl is 13 but looks like a full grown man. So, this guy can pass for 16 because the fact that in the outbreak the aging process is excelled.

I don't know if someone else wrote this, but this is simply something I have come up with. Javier has the same mark as the zombie, which means both of them were probably a part of the same group/society. This society could have fallen apart, and now Javier and Clementine are hunting down whoever's left alive.

  • edited June 2016

I agree, but no one in this thread, or this forum for that matter, honestly suggested as much and YouTube comments are cancer anyway. Telltale wouldn't ship a minor with a 20 something dude, the public backlash would not be nice, and it doesn't add anything to the story. Aside from it being generally wrong of course.

I'm shutting down any attempts at a relationship no matter what their age might be. Just because she's a girl and he's a guy doesn't mean they have to be in a relationship or have anything to do with each other romantically.

  • About that mark Javier has; Can't tell if it was tattooed or branded on him. Very curious about what that mark means.

  • Okay, so I made the wrong joke. :V I don't ACTUALLY ship them, I should have included giant sarcasm quotes. I don't need a reputation of a perverted-shipper. "OTL But then, I should have realized how dumb the joke would have sounded...

  • So, you plan on selling yourself out?

Because any new person I meet in these games I immediately plan on selling them out, you really don't want me in your zombie apocalypse group.

  • Honestly, I think he's there to appease people like me who just want to play an adult again. With Lee, I had a sense that I was kind of in control of the group (you know, before half of them died, betrayed, or abandoned me causing me to feel like a terrible leader.) Anyways, Clementine just didn't have the same feel. Sure, I enjoyed playing as her, but I really just want a protagonist I can take seriously as the leader.

Anyways, it's good to have Clem back and I'm digging the new guy. Can't wait to play him.

Don't like him. I think he fits the generic wannabe be bad*** stereotype. And he's in there just to please the straight female audience. An

  • And it's not like people asked to play as two different people in season 3 or complained about not being able to do that in season 1 & 2

No one asked to play two people, but there have been people like me saying they didn't want to play Clementine again while majority of the fanbase have been asking for Clem to return as protagonist. So, it's probably being done as move to appease both parties. And given that a few of Telltale's most recent games have had multiple protagonists, they probably saw it reasonable to add an extra one for TWD since the feedback on those games have been pretty well.

Anyways, I'm happy with the decision.

  • Nah, he's gotta be around his mid 20's in my opinion. I can't see the second protagonist being another teenager.

  • He looks mid 20's Thats what im sticking with, but they never really reveal ages in these games, we only know Clems as lee asked her and its easy to follow the months past to work her age out

  • Javier could be searching for his girlfriend/boyfriend when he says "just hold on" for all we know. Then again, he could also be searching for a family member or a friend. Regardless, I doubt he has any romantic interest in Clem, but that stop many players from trying to force one.

  • That's true. There a certain people that will probably do that if that's an option trying to make them fall in love and canonly ship them in their story. I personally wouldn't and don't like that idea but it's what they want and choose to do. So yeah.
