They haven't confirmed the third one either until the end of Season 2. To be honest, neither they've confirmed that there will be a Season 4 nor that Season 3 will be the last so it's hard to say how it'll be.
I noticed that you were asking for protagonist-killing situations without villians nor walkers, and @OneWayNoWay mentioned character deaths without villians no walkers. Although I disagree that killing Clementine is bad storytelling, I have to point out that you haven't misunderstood anything, though all this misunderstanding led to @Deltino and others understanding that you misinterpreted.
What protagonist-killing situations can you make in this universe that isn't "Killed by Villain #10" or "Killed by zombie herd with no chance of escape"
Although I believe some sort of sickness could do the trick, as I said before, you were asking about ways to kill protagonists in particular.
Easier to give up than to accept that you went on an endless discussion with your arguments that actually ended up being irrelevant to the discussion since you assumed something wrong because of bad reading comprehension. Meh
Oh, I know! I was just pointing that out because the time between the fourth episode and the fifth episode is concrete and certain, whereas the time that goes after Season 2 could've been infinite if they never announced Season 3.
Exactly. I get people are fans of characters, but to say it's just bad writing because you don't want to see them die, is stupid in my opinion. But hey, fan boys will be fan boys.
Yeah I agree, must be extreme irrational fanboyism of a character as with fans of say Daryl Dixon from the show. It's the same as saying if … moreNegan were to kill Daryl come the season 7 premiere then that too is awful writing since I'm a fan of Daryl and because Daryl_is_awesome.
Yeah I said that, my fault for forgetting people on the internet take everything literally.
What the question meant is.
"This the TWD universe and in this universe only big villains or an unbeatable horde of infinite zombies(not so much after No Way Out) have the plot power to kill really really really big protagonists like Rick or Clem. So when you say '''''I personally believe death can often be a way to show the high stakes involved in a situation our characters may be facing''''' then tell me a possible situation that is logical, powerful, important and meaningful enough to be a send off to the protagonist of the series."

Just for future reference, @Clem_is_awesome said the following:

Oh hey, I clicked the thread and your new comment said "just now." …creepy.
You haven't even used the terms incorrectly. Protagonist means the character or characters who are the core of the story, and these are usually from one to three in a narrative. Katjaa, Larry and Luke don't actually fall in this category, though Luke is a main character for sure.
I detect that the entire past exchange is a huge ball of misunderstandings.

It's that simple.

I'm the one who first said "protagonist" up there.
I'm not the one who brought up Katjaa, Larry, Luke, etc
I detect that the entire past exchange is a huge ball of misunderstandings.
Yep, already pointed that out in the comment right above your first one.

Jesus Christ, I am keeping track of why I say what I've said! I am aware of who has said what. Besides, I am explaining why you are right in this situation—there's no need to defend yourself nor to start quoting me like that.
But oh well, since you're doing such a job at explaining why you haven't misunderstood anything, my presence is not needed.

I know I know, I'm not "defending" myself or "attacking" you by quoting you, I just like to respond with quotes a lot(like i'm doing right now!!), to leave things out very clear for current and future readers who might get confused in this gigantic wall of text.

Clementine is my favorite character in all of fiction, seriously. However, this is The Walking Dead. I hate loose ends more than anything(400 Days, Lilly, Molly, Christa, etc). If her story is coming to an end, it better actually END. If she's going out, she better die a hero either saving AJ or her group or something. I'm tearing up just writing this.
Well, There is no way to kill Clementine. That's gonna be awful...
Otherwise, If AJ will be your Playable Character. It might sort of spliting up the group instead of seeing Clementine killed by an Ambush while the group is being desperate...
It is my opinion, like a few other's have said, No One in the Walking Dead world should be safe so it should be very possible that Clem could die in Season 3. As a player and fan of this game, I seriously hope she doesn't. I've said a long time ago, I'd love to see Clem grow up, grow old, be kinda the Granny Clem to the new world of survivors. Meaning that somewhere down the line she wouldn't be the main playable character, but the wise woman in the future.
However, I am a strong supporter that no one is safe and as much as it would hurt, I want Telltale to hold true to that even if it means killing off Clem. I only hope if they do, it's done in a spectacular manner. But then again, that's not very realistic. A while back ago I remember making a comment that in the Walking Dead world, anyone can die or disappear in a multitude of ways. From being a walker snack to getting shot or a simple accident. And characters that one day are gone and never seen again, would happen. Yes it does leave questions and we never get closure, but that's realistic. That would happen. You send someone out on a mission and never see nor hear from them again. What happened? No one knows.
So, no.. I don't want Clem to die.. EVER! but, yes, she should be as much at risk as anyone else and if it happens and as much as I hope she goes out in a blaze of glory, if she trips over a twig, fall's and hit's her head on a rock and dies, that would be tragic and realistic, and i'll cuss and rant and OMG for hours, but i'll accept it and wait for season 4.
I'll probably wait until the entire season is available on disc before I purchase it, and even then, I'll scan different forums and online s… moreummaries to see whether or not Telltale killed off Clementine. And no, I don't care if that's cheating. The people who believe Clementine needs to die are the same sadistic idiots who clamor for AJ to be put down. With Kirkman now involved with the game, I'm terrified he'll grant their nihilistic cravings for murder and despair.
I have noticed that the kill Clementine brigade comes in two flavors. 1 thinks that an 8-9 year old has the blood of Lee on her hands for going off with the Stranger to hopefully be reunited with her parents. 8-9 years olds are clever, every year loads of them get abducted and disappear because they listen to an adult. The 2nd group hates...Hates the idea of playing as a girl, I am sure people played the original Metroid game and had a shitfit when they learned Samus was a woman. There is no arguing with these people, they are the ones who feel that any strong female character is an attack on men.
Clementine will die eventually...as I have posted...I hope it is not anytime soon...I am thinking season 10 ;)
I'd be in tears if Clementine gets bitten trying to save AJ, as Lee got bitten trying to save Clementine. But it'd be a little fitting... I think "Telltale's The Walking Dead" will probably end in her death.
Comments
Season 3 was actually confirmed before "No Going Back" was released.
Details, man, details. Still it was ALMOST the end of Season 2. Still counts.

Okay then let me clarify - when I said "after Season 2" I meant right after it ended. I should've explained that better first time, sorry.

Will Telltale Kill Clementine?

Oh I'm sorry your favorite character isn't fucking immortal. No need to go apeshit on those that want realism.
