Too bad the writers never really cared enough to emphasize that, hence people fixating more on Kenny's tantrums than the fact that CLEM SAW HER CARETAKER'S BABY DIE OFF-SCREEN AND NOBODY TALKS ABOUT IT.

The baby probably didn't make it, and if it did, not for long. There is barely any shelter or medical supplies to sustain a child at the location they were or probably have been, and it would only make Christa's depressing state so much more believable during the later stage of the game.

It's a damn newborn in a ZA; everybody's got the right to ask that question if someone is stupid enough to have one, and depend on the protection (and/or sacrifices) of other people.
Highly doubt that was the baby's grave.
Not only because of the fact that Clementine looks legit disorientated at her arrival to the site, b… moreut also because the trail Clementine took led straight to the camp, meaning that I doubt Christa and Clementine would have burried the baby to then NOT follow the obvious trail towards the camp.

In Season 1 Ep. 5 Christa drinks a whole lot after Kenny found alcohol in the attic when she was making hints that she was pregnant. Its possible she didn't want a baby growing up like that.
I hadn't considered that it could be the baby's grave but I do doubt it for a few reasons:
* Clem didn't say anything or make any comment… more about the grave after having seen it,
* The grave was near that family's campsite so I think it's more likely it's a member of that family
* Although we don't know what happened or when it happened I'm going to assume Clem and Christa have been on the move since Omid's death and haven't been hanging around one area for too long (this is sort of talked about in the beginning if Clem says "we have to keep moving" and Christa says something like "that's all we ever do is keep moving") so unless whatever happened is very recent I don't think they'd still be all that near to where the buried the child if indeed he/she was buried.
I'm guessing she lost the child in some way. Not sure how PG she's supposed to be in the opening prologue but she looks very late term and unless I'm mistaken I don't think… [view original content]

They can happen late term my friends mom was 8 months pregnant and lost the baby, it's just really rare.
