We can't know if Ramsay would've fallen for the trap with Jon acting defensively, and more importantly Sansa didn't want that risk, she wanted to make sure that the Vale army would caught Ramsay's army off guard. It's a plausible enough reason for her to keep LF's army a secret (+she probs wasn't 100% sure if they'd really come).
He would just have to stick to the plan and stay in the tranchees they dug all days, playing defensive while waiting for the Vale. I can't s… moreee why Ramsay wouldn't attack, he still has got the larger/better army.
If Ramsay sees the army he would flee just as he did in the episode, I don't see how the outcome would change ^^
I'm gonna say what I already said somewhere:
ROOSE: I have seen my bastard fight. He is not entirely to blame. Reek was his tutor, the… more first Reek, and Reek was never trained at arms. Ramsay is ferocious, I will grant you, but he swings that sword like a butcher hacking meat
Reek 1.0 is what looked more for a master of arm for him. A man fighting like a "butcher hacking meat" isn't a compliment here, meaning he will have no chance against a trained man. And it's his father who mentions how bad he is.
At least for book Ramsay.
Well, the fight would start at some point. It's said Ramsay don't stay in one of the best stronghold in Westeros simply because he fear the reaction of others lords. They set up the fight for one day and met on the field. I hardly see why they would "cancel" it.
The thing about being not sure doesn't change the fact that she should talk about it to her main commander, it could have avoided many deaths.

Now that Rickon is dead, there is almost no one that can carry on the Stark name besides Sansa... And she's already on her Cersei route.
If I think what happened to Arya actually happened, then she lost her ability to reproduce. And I'm not an expert at losing the use of your legs, but I'm not sure how Bran can do anything either. And if R+L=J.. Then Jons outta the question.
On another note.. I was really hoping for Rickon to be given a good storyline.. And maybe he'll get one in the books. He's the only stark that actually was around the northern houses most of the time his family was traveling and adventuring. I hoped that he would be an even better knight than Arya or Jon, just based on him continuously training and honing his Warg skills like Bran.
And he'd be the new Wolf. The king of the north. But I guess eff rickon right?
Sansa is a lannister/bolton but yeah I guess she could ditch that. I think arya is fine too, if she even wanted to have kids. Jon will likely continue the name as he'll get legitimized or legitimize himself.
Im curious what happens to rickon in the books but I cant blame the show for offing him, hes a loose end as a living legit stark boy. This whole season has been around cleaning up loose ends and reintroducing characters.

The thing about not being sure doesn't change that she should talk about it to her main commander
Perhaps, but it's an understandable mistake for her. She has been a pawn to powerful men (and women) for years, so I understand her being hesitant to give up her ace in the hole for Jon. Yes, Jon wouldn't command the Vale troops, but he would be the one to do the planning with LF and Royce if Sansa told him about them.

Although Smalljon was a dick for being responsible for Rickon's death. I want to see more of him fighting. I mean the dude has a warrior king's appearance to him.

tl;dr, but to that first question:
why not just bring back Rickon back to life???
To put it simply: It doesn't work that way. … moreIt was stated in this episode that Melisandre has no power to revive anyone she wants. The only reason she could revive Jon was because the Lord of Light wanted Jon to be revived.
i noticed that on my first time viewing and it is so cool! Also, I think that scene where Jon is trampled was done last minute by the director and not even in the script, which makes it even cooler.
I'm such an emotional wreck after this episode. I'm so upset about Rickon! I was so happy that he was back. And that scene where he was running. I actually had hope that he'd make it.
Bran won't get to Winterfell next episode because first he has to get to the wall first which when he does he will get to witness the whitewalkers destroying the wall. (calling it the episode ends with Winter coming). As for Arya? No she is going to Riverrun/The Frey's first next episode. It's Red Wedding 2.0 in this biznitch.
I am wondering if either Arya or Bran gets to Winterfell in the next episode. I hope Bran returns to Winterfell and properly takes his place… more as the Lord of Winterfell. He is the only one who can continue the Stark name. Unless Jon gets legitimated.
Or are there special exceptions in medieval time where women's line can pass on the name?
Bran lost his the use of his legs not his sausage and Meera is still around so anything goes. Also even if R+L=J is correct (which it is) Jon would still be a Stark.

Arryn banner lurking behind the window. I'm really curious of what will LF ask for reward.
Anyway, this is amazing piece of art. If I was Sansa fan I'd definitely want this on my wall
I dont see how that makes him the main character in this ensemble. Yeah, he's taking it seriously now that he's been face to face with them, as Jon was. The reason he was slaughtered by his own men is because of how seriously he took the White Walker threat. He's focusing on the Boltons now because that threat was in the way of everything else. Now they can start to rebuild and turn their attention back on the white walkers. Dany doesnt even really know anything about it, but hopefully when she gets back to Westeros, she will. She cant very well rule Westeros if its taken over by the undead. And hoewer you feel about them, Dany and Jon have always had much more focus, and eventhough Bran is coming into prominence and will be very important to the end game, its likely that the series is going to end with those two either banding together or opposing each other. Hopefully, theyll come together to defeat the white walkers.

Are we really using that shirtless scene as evidence? That was the most ridiculous fighting scene in GoT history.

If Jon is actually Lyanna's son, he is not technically a bastard, is he?
Well, unless Rhaegar and Lyanna married in secret or there is proof of Jon being legit, he is still a bastard.
It would require:
1°) that there's been a divorce between Elia Martell and Rhaegar, which no one is aware of.
2°) A marriage between Rhaegar and Lyanna. No one is aware of that too.
So he still is a bastard legally.
I think her and Tyrion would make a lovely couple now... Maybe that's just me.
i mean both the Starks and Lannisters are kinda doomed outta their next heirs. All but those two.

I really wanted him to turn on Ramsey. Would've loved to see him next season. He was a great actor.
Even after what he did to shaggy dog and rickon.. He'll be missed
Just saw this one the Wikipedia page. I wonder why no one has talked about this comparison.
Fire from life. Ice from death.
Im glad he got taken out quickly. Not by Jon unfortunately but I guess Tormund will do.
Yeah but she could have tried at least. Lord of Light most likely wouldn't care about Rickon living, but it's worth a shot.
I really liked the episode but why didn't Sansa tell Jon about the vale force? Thousands of people could be saved.
Cause fuck those guys Apparently.

I really hope these two meet at some point!
He would still be a bastard unless Rhaegar and Lyanna secretly married and it could be proven that he is legitimate

Even then, would that not make him a Targaryen rather than a Stark?
This is kind of random, but I hope one of yall post the episode 10 discussion for tonight instead of me. These threads destroy my inbox lol.
Bran as the main character? No way. I mean he is a main character, but I don't see him as the main character. That seems more suited for Jon or Dany.

I thought since it is tradition, I post the latest episode art.

Just a Royal Bastard
I wouldn't be so cocky Sansa because the way things are going the Stark name will disappear too lol

I might do it later, if someone isn't quicker than me
Bran? THE main character? I barely cared about his story until this season.
I think that it may be that littlefinger wants to marry sansa off to robin

Yeah I honestly see where your coming from with that.
