A silly theory about the missing finger *Possible Spoilers*
This weird thought had just occurred to me about Clementine's missing finger. It was also a joke at first on another topic, but it did get me thinking recently.
Perhaps at some point in Season 3, someone dangerous and mentally unstable had tried to 'marry' Clementine, and had forced Clementine to wear a wedding ring and be their 'wife'. Because the ring was fitted on too tight and there was no other possible way to remove it without permanently damaging the ring finger, she chose to cut the finger off rather than continue wearing the ring in an act of defiance.
Normally I would think that this theory is very far-fetched, but considering that it was Clementine's ring finger on her left hand, it did leave me wondering if a wedding ring was involved at some point in Season 3. What do you think? Ridiculous? Possible, maybe?

But seriosly, wedding rings are made to fit adult people, and Clem isn't an adult, and I'm sure her ring finger is thiner that any adult finger, and she would be perfectly able to take the ring off if she wanted. So unless the ring is modified or it's just a golden/silver/whatever ring and not an actual wedding ring, I don't think it's possible.
I'm sure the main villian is the one that took it off. It's something that happends a lot in TWD:
If you want the player/reader/whatever to hate a character, then this character just has to hurt a fan favourite. But unless this psyco IS the main villian, It wouldn't make sense.

I don't think any sane person like Clem would amputate their own finger just as a show of defiance like that. I mean it's the apocalypse, people try to keep all the digits and limbs they can if they can help it.
What would make more sense to me with your theory is someone else amputated it for her against her will--maybe the guy who put the ring on her finger in the first place and he got angry with her or something.
Either that, or it got shot off somehow. (I think Rick's done that before to others on the show/comic?) It must have been a very specific, targeted injury to take off just the ring finger and not her pinkie or her middle finger as well. And don't forget Job said that whether the finger is there or not depends on your past choices too.

Looking at her finger if it were to take a ring off that was stuck wouldn't she need to cut off more than that? It looks like there is just enough finger left that it wouldn't help get a ring off.
I don't understand the love on Negan. Isn't he supposed to be hated as being an antagonist? If he is loved, I don't see how he is antagonist.

An antagonist is a character that either is an obstacle or puts obstacles in the Protagonist way to achieve his purpose. An antagonist doesn't even need to be bad. Jesus, Ben was almost an antagonist, and we all know he's stupid, not bad (I still love my Ben
). Besides, a good character doesn't need to be a good person. S1 Kenny, for example, was an asshole to me. I mean, it seemed like before his family died he had no emotions at all (Just go and smash that old dude's face in front of his daughter, that will definetly not make you look like an asshole, even if the dude's dead). And he was still one of my fouvorite character. He was really well written, his reasons, his reactions, his "death"... god I LOVED THAT F*CKER!
(Then S2 came and ruined everything)
And Negan's even worse. He's a well writen, asshole, killer, funny, smart, bully asshole. AND I LOVE HIS JOKES; HIS ASSHOLEness (whatever it is written like :P), EVEN THE FACT THAT HE KILLED MY OTHER FAVOURITE CHARACTER, GLENN!!
Maybe he's supposed to be hated, but I never do what I am supposed to, so, screw the haters.

Personally I think that the game should try and stay away from ridiculous, over the top nonsense like that. Something like tthis seems more suited to the TV show. Even walkers being marked is a bit too much for me, but we'll see how it plays out.

I believe that her finger could catch gangrene due to a lack of blood flow if the ring is too tight. I'm not an advocate for this idea in particular, but it makes sense. I wouldn't want a rotting finger, though it is possible that Clementine is into that, I don't know.
This is one of the few instances where I fully agree with you, @AronDracula.
I can't stand Negan, nor his jackass attitude, nor his superiority complex, nor his cringe-worthy jokes. And I despise him for taking an issue such as throwing grenades at a community full of innocent people as if it were a kids' game. I like to think that he abhors rape just to feel good about himself.
If only Alpha gutted him like he did with Spencer…

The story of her lost finger. Season 3 Episode 1...a pivatol but sure to be controversial scene. INT. Mount Doom...Clementine and Sam stand on the edge of the volcanic shaft. All she needs do is Chuck the ring into the eternal fires of Mount Doom to end the zombie apocalypse. Just when it looks like this hell on Earth is at an end, she slips the ring on and tries to leave with it. Her very soul having been damaged by the ring ever since they left Wellington all those months ago. Enter Gollum, a member of a gang of cannibals who reversed the walkers as heralds of the Lord's love for them...he struggles with Clem and bites her finger off and then makes his escape. Sam gets killed fighting his way to help Clementine.
But theres plenty of ways to get a ring off. You can even use string. If anything it would be way smarter to just keep going until you find something to help get it off rather than just going "Fuck it...cut it off.

I asked myself the same question: Why are people liking (or even loving) Negan so much? I for myself dont really like any villains since they kill/hurt characters that are "good". But I thought about it a while and I realised that I didnt hate Negan as much as I hated the other villains. I mean people like the Governor or the cannibals would have killed everyone of Ricks group, there was no hope for peace, just one side living and the other side dying. Negan on the other hand "just" killed one character at the beginning as revenge and spared the rest. Of course they were kinda slaved after that, but they could continue living, even had some kind of "protection" from Negan in return. My point is: I dont think Negan would kill everyone if he wins. He didnt even killed Carl when he had the chance, all the other villains would have killed/tortured/abused/eat him for killing so many people. I for myself dont hate Negan. I would be much more scared if someone like the Governor would appear again as a new villain. People like him are unpredictable, Negan on the other hand is more predictable. He is a lesser evil for me.
EDIT: I mean if Negan dies there has be a new villain, and chances are its some similar to the Governor or worse.
If we assume she was wearing a ring I think its more likely that some accident happened. I dont know how to describe it, but it happens quite a lot that people climbed fences and their rings get caught on the top of the fence. After that you lose most of the finger. Some people need a few seconds before they realize they lost one of their fingers. One interesting fact is that Clem didnt lost her entire finger, just most of it, like the people who experience such an accident.
We had some discussions on how she could have lost her finger, and the most common/liked theories were: bitten of, frostbite, cut of by someone crazy or some cult, or (similar like your idea) cutted of by herself for different reasons. But all this theories aren't really convincing me, there is always the question: Why just the ring finger? Her pinkie finger and her middle finger are both still there, but most of the ring finger is not. In all scenarios its rather improbable that just the ring finger is/had to be removed. So I would say she lost the finger in such an accident, although that wouldnt be TWD style. They probably want something more tragic or shocking, something which isnt her own fault. So there could also be some sort of viallain involved in losing her finger which gives us reason to hate him (like @ravensnowstorm said).
Marry him and then divorce immediately. Take half of this crazy guy's shit.
