  • I really like the presentation of the big,and "happy",Frostborn family!I'm really curious of what they want from our heroes (maybe is something related to "Bloodroar"?)

Oh yes, the happy Frostborn family :D They are a couple of characters whom I have looked forward to introduce for a long while and personally, I am happy with the way they turned out. As for the what the Frostborns might want from Edrick's group... the family portrait depicted five children, though only three have been introduced in this part... That's all I'm going to say there.

I like that you use this Drent part to give more relevance to Torrence making us readers know more of his relationship with the sister and the origins of the Bernile duo

I'm very happy that the choice to take Torrence along has won. He is a complex character and I have done almost nothing with him in Chapter 6, so I figured it was about time. He and Edonia are both going to have a role to play in the things to come and I want to give them quite some build-up for this, so that future scenes involving the siblings will fully work as intended.

  • I am always happy to hear this! I had a lot of fun writing Darreth so far, so I'm glad that he is like you imagined him. One thing I liked about him is this thing about him not being the typical squire and it is something I want to put some emphasis on in the coming parts. There'll be more stuff for him, like shamelessly flirting with the daughter of the lord who took them in as guests. And you are right, he is stubborn. So is Evelyn, though she has her own reasons for not responding well to his attempts.

  • 7) I might have. I had the same deja vu. Still i asked because if i did, i forgot the answer.

You have indeed. Though I hope my answer was able to satisfy your curiosity here!

    8) Sorry, i shoul've been clearer. I meant if you planned to end it in a way simmilar to a prequel (hinting at the originals events) or end it as its own story. The rest of the answer was fine.

Well, as the original events of the Ice and Fire backstory are planned to appear, I guess you can say that the events of this story will eventually lead to the events of the Ice and Fire novels as you know them. So... a fan-made prequel might be a fitting term here.

    11) No!!! I would NEVER question the quality of this story. Infact, at the risk of angering the Holy church of George R. Martin, i believe the quality of you story is EQUAL to his..........................if this was my last comment then they didn't forgive that statement.......l

Equal? No, no, I am staunchly opposed to this statement. Adamantly even. While I feel flattered and while I can't thank you enough for the kind words, there is a very good reason why GRRM's novels are the most influential pieces of fantasy literature since The Lord of the Rings. I guess FoT is not bad, probably even pretty good when it comes to fanficiton or else you wouldn't enjoy it that much, but that's the best you're ever going to hear me say about it. That said, I have plans to write a genuine, original novel one day, using the experience I gained from writing FoT to create something memorable.

    12) Oh, sorry. I forgot i'm the only crazy one. After all, i was the one that told you it would..............seriously. If you don't remember look back. I even told you you would get a huge fanbase by naming your story 'Forum' ;).

You told me indeed, it's true :) I didn't want to believe it back then, but I think what really helped is that I wrote the first genuine GoT fanfiction on here. That said, there are other amazing fanfictions on here, which I can only urge my readers to try out as well. After all, that's the reason why I regularly give shout-outs to other stories that genuinely deserve more readers and I'd be happy if the readers would give them a chance.

Well well. It seems it was innefective. Never mind these are only the first in a full scale armada of questions. There will be nowhere to hide from my inquieries, nowhere to escape from my countless questioning conundrums. Never again will the boat of knowladge and logic keep you safe, as i eternallly drown you in an OCEAN of doubt. Forever trapped in your own lack of resoutions. MWHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

  • Caught up again!

[Talk to Shortwood and send Torrence to search his room] Sounds like a good plan.

The Frostborns seem to be interesting bunch.

Edrick Without his weapons, Edrick felt almost naked as he and his small group entered the courtyard. It was a relatively narrow one, but

  • [Try to search Shortwood's room] I feel as if there is going to be something important in the room and I can take a guess that talking to him won't reveal as much as digging through his belongings. Also I want to see how Torrence interacts with Daisy, and see if he can have more luck than poor Darreth had. I kinda like Torrence because he is super relatable, and I don't think he is as much of a screw up as he may seem. And for the Frostborns, they are a interesting group. I wonder how long they are going to be stuck at their castle, because it seems Alys is getting further away by the second.

Edrick Without his weapons, Edrick felt almost naked as he and his small group entered the courtyard. It was a relatively narrow one, but

  • Are family portraits a common thing among all noble families, or just Northern ones? Or just the Frostborns and the Forresters? I'm curious as to if we'll be seeing a family picture for every castle we visit.

  • I don't think every family has a family portrait, as these are certainly rather expensive and complicated to create. For House Frostborn, it made sense to give them a family portrait, though it also serves another purpose in their case. But many other families in the story won't have portraits like these.

Drent is going to talk to Shortwood, while Torrence is going to search his room

Theoretically, this gives you twice the chance for success, as Torrence argued. Similarly though, it remains to be seen if attempting to do both things is truly the best course of action here. There are just as many things that can go wrong and screwing up one of these tasks will almost guarantee that the other one is going to have it a lot harder as well. At least Drent's next part should give you some anwers though, about Ian Shortwood and his goals in the city.

For now, I hope to finish the next part today. It will feature a PoV from Samantha, as well as a second one, which will most likely be from John. The last time we saw Samantha, she travelled through the forest near Raylansfair, together with Sasha, Jaro, I'lian and their prisoner, Lenrianda. They hoped to find Lenrianda's friend Nymeria Aspys there, to convince her to cooperate. During their travels, Lenrianda warned them about Nymeria and her temper, urging them to cut her bindings, so that she won't appear to be their prisoner. Ultimately, Samantha decided to follow Lenrianda's advice. Meanwhile, John and his group were recovering from the events of the last chapter, where John ended up being attacked and knocked out by Aylard. They met up with the Targaryen knight, Daghan Oxus, who wanted to convince them to work with him. Before he could go into any deeper detail, Aylard returned to the tavern, escorted by the castle guard. John was given the choice to talk about what happened with Aylard, or to give him some time and continue his talk with Daghan instead. He decided for the former, which is where his next part is going to start.

Now, listen up my friends. There is a new story here in the forums, which is just about to start and it could need more readers. This story is called Empty Humans and it is written by @mellofox28. A rarity here in the forums, Empty Humans is a sci-fi story, which already means it's going to be pretty cool and you should totally check it out. The story itself has been inspired by the television series 'Humans', for those of you who know it. It is set in an alternative version of our modern earth, where humanity has developed highly advanced, almost human-like robots, known as 'Imata'. Of course, humanity being humanity, these Imatas are mostly used as servants, doing all kinds of day-to-day jobs we do not want to do ourselves. It is an intriguing premise for a story and I hope I managed to gain your interest. As always with these shout-outs, the story could certainly need more attention, more readers, more characters. Since it is just about to start, you have the opportunity to be part of the story from the very beginning, so, if you are interested, do me a favour and check the actual story out by following this link.

  • Too late, already signed up for it XD

Apologies for the slightly longer wait! There was other stuff I had to take care of yesterday. I also have to take back my earlier statement, this part will only include a PoV for Samantha, as her part got longer and longer while writing it. John will return in the next part. With this, I hope you enjoy :)

    Samantha

“Fine. We'll do it your way”, Samantha agreed, as she reached for her dagger. In a swift movement, she cut Lenrianda's ties and the young woman immediately started to massage her aching wrists. She smiled at her newfound freedom. “But don't make me regret it”, Samantha added sharply, to which Lenrianda's smile faded. “Won't happen”, she assured her.

Not quite convinced about this, Samantha continued her way. Sasha walked close by her side, while Lenrianda was walking between her and Jaro, who was walking closely behind her. I'lian meanwhile had vanished into the underbrush again, to scout for any potential danger.

“Your friend, how are we supposed to find her?”, Jaro asked. “Just walking around until we stumble upon her?” Lenrianda shook her head, still smirking at her free hands. “Trust me, knowing Nym, she's probably going to find us first. We've been camping in the general area. It's only a matter of time until she will notice us” Now, she raised her hands, her smirk turning into a winning smile. “And this here means that you made a damn good decision, Sammy”, she added. “I can call you Sammy, can I?”

“At least buy me a drink first”, Samantha chuckled. Lenrianda raised an eyebrow. “You mean the shitty ale in the local tavern, or do you prefer something... more exquisite?”, she asked. “Cause I know just the spot on the eastern road, perhaps a couple of hours on horseback, where they serve you the best vintage north of the Arbor. You're not afraid of horses, are you?”

Samantha immediately shook her head, but before she was able to answer, Sasha audibly cleared her throat. “Perhaps we should focus on our task again”, she said with a look of indifference on her face that was obviously forced. “It's important, isn't that right, Sammy?”

“Uh... sure”, Samantha said and Lenrianda sighed. “Well, what a shame”, she said and gave her a playful wink. “It's a really good vintage” She glanced over her shoulder. “Perhaps I'lian will be interested”, she mumbled, while Jaro looked at her with a stony expression. “Not if I have a say in it...”, he answered, though immediately, a look of concern appeared on his face. “Speaking of I'lian... where the hell is my damn brother?”

Samantha looked to the underbrush to her left, where I'lian had disappeared into not long ago. The last two hours, he had checked back with them every five minutes. Now, ten had passed without a sign from him and she saw how nervous Jaro was because of this situation. Lenrianda noticed it as well, since her playful smile faded immediately. “I'm sure he's going to be fine...”, she mumbled sternly, though Jaro shook his head. “I'lian might be an unreliable piece of shit most of the time, but not when it comes to a job”, he responded and turned towards the underbrush. “I'lian!”, he yelled. “I'lian, you hear me?”

For a moment, there was no answer. Then, Samantha heard rustling in the underbrush and a hoarsy, female voice answered. “He can hear you”, a woman said. “Unfortunately, he's a little too preoccupied to answer”

Then, a woman walked out of the underbrush and into Samantha's line of sight, holding I'lian in front of her like a shield, a long, curved knife right at his throat, while a small shield strapped to her forearm protected her head from danger. She was an unusual sight for sure. Standing slightly above than the lean I'lian, she was one of the taller women Samantha had ever seen. A heavy armour couldn't hide the sturdy, toned body underneath and she wasn't wearing a helmet, showing her face openly. Sasha gasped and mumbled something in her natural language as she saw her. The woman was an albino, her skin pale as snow and the same went for her short hair, which barely covered her ears. Cold, red eyes glared at the group and her face showed the mark of more than one battle, with a scar running diagonally across the mouth and the nose being slightly crooked, as if it had been heavily broken in the past. Despite this, Samantha found her oddly attractive, though she had to admit her taste had always been leaning towards the unusual.

“Nym!”, Lenrianda said with a wide smile. The woman gave her a nod, without smiling in return. “Hey Len”, she mumbled, before she focussed on the others. “I'm telling you how this works, you sellsword scum. I'll take my friend here and we will leave and you will not try to stop us. If you try anything, I'm going to give that bastard here a red smile”

“I like my smile white as it is”, I'lian said, though he immediately gasped, as Nymeria put the knife closer to his throat. “No talking from you”, she hissed and Lenrianda smirked. “Told you, Nym's one of a kind”, she answered, before she sighed. “Tough you're wrong here, Nym” She raised her hands. “I'm not their prisoner”

Nymeria's stern face showed the hint of confusion. “Wait...”, she said and looked from Samantha to Jaro. “You're no Second Sons?” Samantha quickly shook her head, to which Nymeria let out a sigh. “Bloody hell”, she cussed, before she took the knife away from I'lian's throat. Harshly, she pushed him to the ground. “Then what are you doing here?”

“Searching for you, you doofus”, Lenrianda explained and took a step towards her friends. Both women momentarily grabbed each other's forearm and a smirk flashed across Nymeria's face. “I was worried, Len”, she mumbled and Lenrianda gave her a nod. “Yeah, so was I. And what's with that talk about the Second Sons?”

“Take a lucky fucking guess”, Nymeria growled. “Working with that Stone cunt was a terrible idea. The moment something went wrong during your run with them, they started to come after me. Been on the run for the past week. That bloody forest is huge”

Now, her stare fell upon the severe bruises on Lenrianda's forehead, where Oxus had hit her with his shield. Her eyes narrowed, as she glared back at Samantha. “Have they hurt you?”, she snarled and Lenrianda was quick to shake her head. “No! I mean, it's complicated. What matters is, they saved my life and they agreed to help me finding you”

Nymeria seemed to relax as she heard these words. Samantha gave her a polite smile, in the hopes of calming her down a bit more. “My name is Samantha Ducard”, she introduced herself. Nymeria gave her a nod. “Nymeria Aspys”, she answered and her facial expression hardened. “To make it clear, yes, I'm dornish, yes, I'm highborn, no, I don't give a fuck and I'm not here to talk, you understand?”

Samantha nodded. “Absolutely”, she confirmed and out of the corner of her eye, she caught Sasha smiling. Her friend raised an eyebrow. “What?”, she said. “I like her” Nymeria raised an eyebrow and it was Lenrianda who continued. “So, back to the topic. What was that about the Second Sons being after you?”, she asked. Nymeria grabbed her arm and turned towards the direction Samantha and her group had just came from.

“Right...”, she answered. “About that, we got to leave, now” She looked over her shoulder and Samantha spotted the hint of nervousness in her red eyes. “I thought you were the Second Sons. Thought you had captured Len, so I came out of hiding to help her”, she explained. “That was a mistake. And now we gotta run, or else they find us” She looked down at I'lian. “You can run, can't you? Haven't been too rough with you”

I'lian sluggishly rose from the ground and he gave her a wide smile. “I'd lie if I'd say this was the first time a woman touched me like this”, he grinned, to which Nymeria answered with a cold frown. “I should have totally smashed your legs”, she mumbled, before she looked at Lenrianda and then at Samantha. “We gotta run, before the Sons are here. You ready?”

Samantha gave her a nod, but before she could answer, she heard a familiar, hissing sound. An arrow cutting through the air. Out of reflex, she let herself fall to the ground, though the arrow wasn't even aimed at her. Instead, it hit the tree next to Nymeria, causing her to spin around, facing the underbrush. “The next one will hit”, a rough, male voice growled. “Oh, fuck me”, Nymeria mumbled and looked at the group. “Now we have a problem”

“Don't try anything stupid and you won't be killed”, a second, male voice growled and this time, Samantha even saw the archer, standing at the other side of the road, barely hidden in the underbrush. A third man, this time wearing a long spear, stepped onto the road, followed by two men with iron clubs. All of them wore a familiar tabard, a black, broken sword on a field of white. Second Sons... just her luck. Back before she had met Gutten, she had considered joining them, though she scrapped these plans when the god king of Vaes Khadokh ended up buying the whole company.

“So... a fair word of advice”, Nymeria mumbled and Samantha hadn't noticed she had gotten that close. “This is going to suck. This is really going to suck, no matter what you do” Samantha gulped. “What do you suggest?”, she asked in return. “Don't surrender”, Nymeria adviced her. “Whatever you do, don't surrender. The Sons can't be trusted. They'll kill you the moment you lower your guard”

“Which is something I can confirm”, Sasha whispered. “They have always been bastards, but ever since they started to work for that madman Anturion, they somehow managed to get even worse” As she spoke, another man walked out of the underbrush. He was taller than most, with piercing blue eyes. The hair on his head was shaved, save for a short beard that was covering his jawline. Like the rest of the sellswords, he wore the tabard of the Second Sons and the weapon he was wielding... Samantha gasped as she recognized valyrian steel. It was one of the finest weapons she had ever seen, a longsword, dark and shimmering, with a ruby shaped like a heart as its pommel.

“Good evening”, the man said, with false politeness. “My name is Ser Rodrik Stone. I'm...” Immediately, Nymeria cut him off. “A cunt”, she said and Rodrik narrowed his eyes. “You always had quite the mouth, Nymeria. Looks like we have to change something about it” Defiantly, Nymeria looked him straight in the eye. “Looks like no one gives a fuck about what you have to say, you reeking whoreson”, she growled in return.

Rodrik shook his head, visibly irritated and it took him a moment to regain his composure, before he looked up again. “Who speaks for you?”, he demanded to know. Samantha clenched her fists and took a deep breath. “I do”, she answered and Rodrik smirked, a kind of smirk she had always hated, reeking of hybris. “A little girl”, he chuckled. “What happened to the one-eyed cunt that blew up my men at the tower”

“I have no idea whom you're talking about, Ser”, she answered with a smile, though beneath it, she was already furious at his belittling behaviour. The knight sighed and she knew he wasn't believing her. “Don't lie to me ever again”, he said calmly. “It's a shame he's not with you. I would have loved to have a talk with him. After all, he killed a dozen of my best men”

“He told me he killed you as well”, Samantha responded and Rodrik's smirk got marginally smaller. “He almost did”, the knight confirmed. “But my mission is too important to die here” Samantha raised an eyebrow. “Your mission?”, she asked. “Last I've heard, the self-proclaimed god king hired you. You're far away from Vaes Khadokh. Need me to tell you the way back home?”

Rodrik shook his head. “I'm currently not in the service of Nain Anturion”, he said and Samantha was relieved by his statement. Of course, she was still surrounded by an unknown number of potentially hostile men, but at least they weren't working for that madman. “Then why are you here, Ser?”, she asked.

“In general? Apologies, but I can't tell you”, Rodrik answered. “I may not work for Nain anymore, but his little brother is not that much of an improvement when it comes to forgiving indiscretions. But right now, I'm here for the two lovely ladies in your company”

Lenrianda gulped, unable to smile and visibly nervous. “Uh... hey Rodrik”, she stuttered. “Ser Rodrik, I mean. Hey, Ser Rodrik. Good to see you, so... alive. And... in one piece. Yeah. That's nice” Now, a weak smile formed on her face. “I haven't told them anything, Ser. There's no need for violence. We can all just leave. You go your way, do your things, me and Nym we go our way, do your things. How does that sound?”

Rodrik chuckled in a belittling way, before he shook his head. “Maybe you're saying the truth, Lenrianda. Maybe you really haven't told them a damn thing”, he admitted. “But you should know me a bit better than that. I'm not the one to take chances” He copied her formerly winning smile, now with a mocking streak to it. “But if it helps, I'm going to kill you quickly. Probably”

“Over my dead body”, Nymeria hissed and Rodrik gave her a nod. “That was part of the plan, yes”, he confirmed. “After all, there's no way you'd ever leave her side, isn't it? Like a pale white hound and twice as ugly” He looked away from her and towards Samantha. “So, here's the thing. I have no quarrel with you, no matter what the guy with the eyepatch did to my men. If you drop your weapons, I will allow you to leave unharmed”, he promised. “I swear it by my honour”

“The honour of a kinslayer”, Nymeria whispered. “Don't believe a word he says” Rodrik raised an eyebrow. “If you don't follow my order, you're going to die here. That bitch next to you is going to die here and those two fuckers behind you. The one-eyed cunt and his little whore will be next and the bald guy as well”, he growled. “That is my other offer. That is a promise” He grinned without any joy or warmth. “Choose wisely”

Samantha tensed up as she looked around. It was Lenrianda who asked the same thought she had. “What is it, Roddy?”, she asked. “You're backing out of a fight now? You're getting soft?” Rodrik's grin was gone in an instant. “You really want to die screaming, don't you, Lenrianda?”, he snarled. “Truth be told, my mission is too important to waste men here. I already lost too many at the tower. If you decide to fight us, then it is likely that you will take a couple of mine with you. In the end, it will be futile of course. I have three times your number”

Three times... well, that was something. Samantha had survived worse odds, though she knew how risky a fight would be. Many would die, on both sides. Perhaps even Sasha would die. She shivered as someone put a hand onto her shoulder. “I believe we should consider his offer”, Sasha said in a low, calm tone.

“The fuck?”, Nymeria hissed and Sasha shot her a glare. “No hard feelings, but I don't know you people”, she responded. “I have no intentions of dying here, just for you. And I don't want to risk Samantha's life as well. If we fight, they will kill us”

“And if you surrender, they will kill you as well”, Nymeria answered, still speaking in a low tone. Sasha shrugged. “Can't know that for sure. Usually, I would never trust the word of a Second Son, but in this case, we kinda ran out of options”, she spoke. “And I'd like to take the chance to stay alive. I like you, but if your death means Sam and I can live, then I'm going to risk it”

“You're going to die”, Nymeria urged her. “The moment you lower your weapon, his men will attack. Do you honestly think Rodrik is going to let you get away? You look like the kind of person that would rather die with a sword in her hand than one in her back”

“So, you say we should fight?”, Samantha said and Nymeria gave her the hint of a nod. “That way, at least some of us can survive. It's not going to be pretty, but it's more of a chance than trusting Rodrik the Kinslayer to keep his word”

Lenrianda had remained silent during their discussion, but now she looked up. Tensed up and visibly afraid, she shot a weak, fake smile into Samantha's direction. “Perhaps there is a third option”, she said. “Rodrik is a warrior. Maybe he has no honour, but he still has to keep his men under control. He lived in Vaes Khadokh for half a decade, he survived Vaes Khadokh and even got into a position of leadership” Now, a sly look appeared in her dark brown eyes. “To keep his position and his men in line, he needs to show his strength over and over. Challenge him to single combat and he won't be able to refuse, especially not against a woman. One versus one, that's a better chance than one versus three”

“Are you insane?”, Sasha spat. “Look at that guy. I've seen grown bears that were smaller. And his sword is Valyrian Steel! Who should fight him in your opinion?” Lenrianda looked at Samantha and immediately, Sasha shook her head. “No. Oh no, no, no”, she protested, her eyes widened. “Not going to happen” She looked at Samantha. “Not going to happen!”, she said with emphasis.

“She spoke to him, styled herself our leader. Leader against leader, that's the best way to force him into accepting”, Lenrianda argued. “Besides, Sammy here does not look like a weakling” She gave Samantha a wink, before she got serious again. “It still is a better chance than to take down all of his men”

Sasha pressed her lips together and looked at Samantha, pleadingly. “Don't do that”, she hissed. “If you challenge him, he's going to kill you. He's twice your size” Samantha smirked at her, half-heartedly. “You know what they say, it's not the size that matters”, she said and Sasha glared at her. “In case of a fight, it does”, she answered. “The larger man has an advantage. You've killed men larger than you, but this one, he has killed many men smaller than him as well”

“So, what are you suggesting?”, Samantha asked. “Accepting his terms? Surrendering?” Sasha gave her a nod. “A far shot, but the only one I can see” Lenrianda immediately inhaled sharply. “You really think he's letting you go? That's madness!” Again, Sasha gave her a nod, more desperate this time. “He served a madman for years. Perhaps a bit of that madness rubbed off on him”

Samantha looked past her and towards the brothers. “Your suggestions?”, she asked. I'lian, still breathing heavily after Nymeria had almost cut his throat, looked around. “Lenrianda is right”, he said. “We can't trust him to keep his words. I say we fight out way out of this” Jaro meanwhile shook his head. “We're all going to die in that case. But maybe only one has to die today, perhaps not even one of us”, he spoke. “Single combat, you against him. I've seen you taking out better men”

“Fuck no, gods damn it!”, Sasha cursed loudly and urgently looked at Samantha. “Don't do that. Don't waste your life against this beast” She grimaced. “Listen up, if you consider this single combat, then allow me to fight him in your stead. Let me challenge him”

Samantha raised her eyebrows and a sudden sting of worry flashed through her. “You have any experience fighting larger men?”, she asked. Sasha gave her a nod. “Probably not more than you”, she admitted. “Certainly not less” A weak smile appeared on her face. “Don't make me beg. Allow me to kill this man for you”

By loudly clapping his hands, Rodrik regained their attention. “Ladies, please, I am a busy man!”, he said loudly. “And I believe you had enough time to discuss your next move. What shall it be? Do you want to die here, for Lenrianda and Nymeria? Or do you want to live?” He grinned widely, though the look in his piercing blue eyes remained as cold as ever. “Choose wisely”

    [Accept Rodrik's terms and surrender]

Well damn, that's where Stone is. Dying for Nymeria and Lenrianda is not worth it. We've known them for barely anytime. Let's surrender and make him happy. Maybe he'll kill us, maybe he won't.

You know, I do have one qualm. I find it very strange that there is so many foreigners and sellsword companies around the Reach. I understand that it is for the story, and to be honest, I don't think it's an issue, but it is very strange.

Perhaps we need a hardcore xenophobe knight. Yes, yes, that would be good.

Apologies for the slightly longer wait! There was other stuff I had to take care of yesterday. I also have to take back my earlier statement

Fantastic Part. I'm glad to see Ser Rodrick back since the whole tower thing. We really haven't see much of him since Alex died. That being said my biggest shock was how well informed the group was about Nain. Then again declaring yourself God king tends to make people notice you.

And as to the vote i think i finally found one that i'm confident enough.

I simply don't know Lenrianda and Nymeria well enough to want to die fighting for them. Besides, I adore Samantha and Sasha and wouldn't want to see either of them die.

That's indeed the thing. While Lenrianda and Nymeria both swear that Rodrik can't be trusted, they obviously have their own reasons for wanting Samantha to help them. That said, Rodrik hasn't been exactly honourable so far and they probably have a point when they say that a man who is famous for kinslaying is not the most trustworthy person around.

It is indeed quite uncommon. As you said, it is for the story, but it can also be explained rationally. The Reach is the most fertile region in Westeros and one of the most wealthy, so many men go there to find work. Whereas Westerosi in Essos prefer to work in the Free Cities, Essosi in Westeros prefer to work in the Reach. As for the are around Raylansfair, the only real sellsword company there consists of Rodrik and his men, who are there on orders of Edward Anturion. Then there are the visitors from outside the Reach, who all have their own agenda, be it the Stormlanders, Maya and her group, Willfred, Wolfius or Vaasrand. But I agree, the amount of foreign visitors is quite high at the moment. Perhaps I should do something to lower the number a little bit. Though, as you said yourself, it's probably not that much of an issue.

Perhaps we need a hardcore xenophobe knight. Yes, yes, that would be good.

Of course, that is a brilliant idea! Ser Donnel of House Tramp is always ready to make the Reach great again!

  • Indeed, that is something that causes people to at least notice you. Especially Sasha, who was born in the same region he claimed for himself and Samantha, who has worked in the Free Cities for years have heard of Nain and his actions quite often, enough to know that he is someone they should stay away from.

I mean, I'm sure there's less trustworthy people around. Maybe he'll be completely reasonable. You never know.

Yeah, that's quite a bit. It makes sense I guess, everyone has a reason. Must be good for the inns, making all that coin.

Heh. Heh. I would love me a good ol' battle. Fire!

I'll do it. I'm sure he'll die really quickly, but he likes to build walls.

In reality I would imagine a lot of smallfolk and even some highborn distrust foreigners. Well, who am I kidding, they do, obviously.

  • Do you guys think it would make more sense to have Donnel Tramp be a lord who has a bunch of people under him, or a knight?

I kind of want to make him an old man that is overly full of himself.

  • [Accept Rodrik's terms and surrender] This was an interesting part, and return of a very interesting character. I think surrendering is simply the wisest option, even if I'm a bit tempted to vote for single combat, since it could be pretty awesome (if Rodrik would even agree to it).

[Fight Rodrik and his men] Accept Rodrik's terms it's obviously a bad choice because he and his friends will attack us and that is sure for 100% (remember guys the preview of this chapter where Samantha and Sasha were fighting unknown enemies) plus I think that Rodrik probably won't accept a duel and even if he do he will probably escape from it if he is going to lose it (even if he is a knight) .In short words let's fight them!

    RT:

    • Nymeria seems an interesting character,I'm curious of her relationship with Lenrianda
    • Rodrik is back!He is alway been my favourite Forrester!XD
    • I hope that the situation will end not too bad for our heroes (to many characters need to be developed before be killed!)
    • I think that this is the first time that we are hearing about Nain Anturion..it seems that he will be an interesing character

If I must be honest I don't think that this story need a caricature of a real life person

    PS:I don't like Trump

PS2:I read now your talk with Liquid;this is obviously just my opinion but if you want to create a character,a xenophobic one in these case, why limit yourself to a caricature?Be creative!

Don't worry, he'll be interesting. The Trump model - looks, some aspects of personality, etc, will be there, but he'll be unique.

At least you can hate him for being somewhat similar to the Donald.

  • I mean, I'm sure there's less trustworthy people around. Maybe he'll be completely reasonable. You never know.

Well, he did serve a self-proclaimed god king for half a decade. That's certainly left some marks. Though, you are right, there are far less trustworthy people around. Wolfius for example, or Harndon Hoare. Compared to them, Rodrik is a prime example of trustworthiness and mental stability.

Yeah, that's quite a bit. It makes sense I guess, everyone has a reason. Must be good for the inns, making all that coin.

Heh, now you know why inns are so prominently featured in this story ;)

Heh. Heh. I would love me a good ol' battle. Fire!

Maybe you will get what you want. Stay tuned, I can soon tell you more about this. But there will be at least one big battle in the upcoming chapters.

I'll do it. I'm sure he'll die really quickly, but he likes to build walls.

It's true, he likes to build great walls. And no one builds them better than Lord Donnel Tramp. He builds them very inexpensively and he's going to make the dornish pay for them.

In reality I would imagine a lot of smallfolk and even some highborn distrust foreigners. Well, who am I kidding, they do, obviously.

In all seriousness, there are a number of characters who greatly distrust foreigners. One prominent example is Harris, who distrusts foreigners, though his definition of the term includes people from other parts of the Reach as well. Then there is Mullendore, who is outright racist. The general contempt Ironborn see for anyone who is not born on the Iron Islands has shades of this as well.

That's indeed the thing. While Lenrianda and Nymeria both swear that Rodrik can't be trusted, they obviously have their own reasons for want

  • Do you guys think it would make more sense to have Donnel Tramp be a lord who has a bunch of people under him, or a knight?

He should be the lord of House Tramp of Tramp Tower. His sigil is a yellow wig on a field of orange, surrounded by a wall and his words are 'Can't Stamp the Tramp'

  • Nymeria seems an interesting character,I'm curious of her relationship with Lenrianda

Oh yes, Nymeria has been among the characters I've been dying to introduce in this chapter. Personally, I think she is a very interesting character, with a nice backstory. Hopefully I'll get the chance to show it.

Rodrik is back!He is alway been my favourite Forrester!XD

Oh, if Rodrik Stone and Rodrik Forrester would be the same person, Samantha would be so fucked right now :D

I hope that the situation will end not too bad for our heroes (to many characters need to be developed before be killed!)

Well, it has been lampshaded by Rodrik himself in the final sentence. Choose wisely. Also, choose carefully, which should be self-explanatory in this choice.

I think that this is the first time that we are hearing about Nain Anturion..it seems that he will be an interesing character

He has been mentioned before, in Chapter 5, during the scene where Alys talked to Carvin in the courtyard of Harrenhal. Before working for Edward, Carvin worked for Nain and he has nothing good to say about the man. Since Nain is also in the waiting-to-be-introduced list, he is also confirmed to appear in the story sooner or later.

my gut says I would [Challenge Rodrik to single combat] or [Allow Sasha to challenge Rodrik to single combat] depending on what I think/know of the enemy and Rodrik, Sasha

  • Liquid please reply in our PM discussion on what you think of the Green Reapers and the Harltons, my next character will be a special Northerner and would like to know your opinion on them before I write him up

Well I submitted him. I made him really detailed, I don't know why.

I forgot to make words, but I added a bunch of stuff.

There is one interesting relationship between him and another character in this story, lol.

Mind any errors in it, I had to stop working halfway through.

Oh. Wow, I did not expect you to actually submit him. I'm especially surprised that he is not a bad a character, which is even more surprising when you consider whom he is based on. Though, I probably have to send you a message about him first.

  • A Trump in Game of Thrones o_O

We are doomed, doomd I say!

Why oh why are they everywhere? Heck I'm from Hungary and I still see and hear too much about him despite not even living on the same continent.

  • Btw, I just submitted another character too (was kinda inspired by this conversation of Donnel Tramp - though my character has nothing to do with Trump :D), so if you have anything to ask about him then go ahead :p
