Theory

I don't think Luke is dead. He's not determinant in anyway and he could've easily escaped the walker after Clem got pulled out (if she fell under) I think he faked his death to get away from the group because he had no one he cared for (Except Jane) and he didn't want her to get hurt in anyway. Think about it. Why would they make you decide between helping Luke and covering Luke if the only impact of this choice was to affect your relationship with Bonnie if she's even alive in your playthrough. They have something bigger planned for Luke.

  • He can't survive the cold water. Hypothermia!

  • Clementine survived it, so why can't he?

  • The bait? I got a hunch. The only thing I could see his character doing was getting Jane pregnant and in my playthrough Jane is dead so he has to return. He didn't do anything meaningful

  • He wouldn't be able to run off into the woods and make a fire with a hurt leg before he dies of hypothermia.

  • Let me remind you that Kenny survived an alley full of walkers or in some cases a building full of walkers.

  • So if Bonnie is dead, although they died in the exact same way, how come Luke lived?

  • Both of Kenny's "death" scenes you never see Kenny die, he always runs off screen. In the ally full of Walkers, its an ally, he could have just fought through or found a window, and the building could have had plenty of ways out.

  • Well at least you've explained why he didn't rejoin the group. I remember way back, someone had the theory that he had deserted the team and tried to convince Kenny to go along with him back on the ski lodge, hahahaha. This could have actually been better story wise but props to him for sticking with his broken, incompetent group.

I don't think there was anyway he was getting out of that though unless someone pulled him out. Clementine got lucky that Jane was close enough to her to do that. At that moment in time though, I actually think there was a possibility that he could decide not to rejoin the group if he did get out of there.

  • Well, TT brushed off the hypothermia like it was nothing for Clementine, so if they didn't kill Luke off before that's how he probably would have died lmao.

    These theories are so bizarre.

  • Bonnie fell through and she pulled herself out.

  • You said Bonnie would still be determine, so how come Bonnie would still be able to die or not, but Luke would live no matter what, despite the fact that we see him die and somehow no one looked back at all or even heard Luke somehow get out of the ice.

I think you got it mixed up bro

  • Oh for the love of God, don't make me make a Nostalgia Critic video about Luke now, I've already made one for Lee and Reuben, I don't need this.

  • Shit, forgot about that. Well it's settled then. He let Clementine think he was dead knowing that he could get out of the situation fairly easily, probably found some place to recover and reflect on things and what not, before deciding not to return to the group. Might have had it planned after he got shot and made the injury seem worse than it was.

Bonnie fell through and she pulled herself out.

  • Its a possibility. You can't argue with that.

That's funny. iPhones don't let you write that with a capital letter. (Just Kidding)

And, unless several versions of Season One are different and I am confused, I'm sure that all the windows were barricaded. I mean, I'm pretty sure that I saw a door somewhere, but the windows aren't the chance.

  • There is where we throw in a plot twist…

    wait for it

…Bonnie is with Luke if you didn't break the ice!

First it was Lee was alive threads, now its Luke a new trend in the works smh.

  • If slow, stupid, emaciated walkers can tear the boards off the window of that house in Savannah in a matter of seconds, couldn't Kenny?

for some reason my phone isn't letting me write that without a capital letter) that Kenny could have climbed through. That's funny.

  • Omgosh, this is getting ridiculous. Luke and Lee are both dead!!! No ones says you have to like it, but accept it already. Luke had already been under water for a few minutes. He's not like a professional swimmer/diver or a Navy Seal....how long do you think he can hold his breath?? Assuming he was able to shake the walker long enough to get the rifle off his back, shoot said walker, swim to the surface and find one of the openings in the ice before he suffocated, then get out without anyone noticing, limp to the woods, and hide until the group left, he would go into shock and die from exposure and/or starve to death. It's not clear whether Bonnie, Mike, and Arvo got away with the food and supplies or Kenny and Jane recovered them, but either way, I doubt they were left lying at the house.

  • He[Luke] didn't do anything meaningful-awesomguyrocks

That's not true. Luke's the only big brother figure she haves.

The bait? I got a hunch. The only thing I could see his character doing was getting Jane pregnant and in my playthrough Jane is dead so he has to return. He didn't do anything meaningful

  • Because no one can save him while he was being pulled down by a walker.

Clementine survived it, so why can't he?

  • Apple and Microsoft are competition.

Do you want me to hate you like how I hate Lexi Porter and other people who think Insert dead video game character(s) is/are actually alive? Luke is dead, you have no proof he is still alive, the lake was too cold for him to escape, he had a wounded leg, he isn't a shark or a dolphin or Godzilla or whatever. This isn't even funny, these threads are annoying and stupid.

  • Where is the Nostalgia Critic for this one.

  • I wish but I think @MetallicaRules should take a break for a while after finishing the Reuben one, I bet it took him hours.

Where is the Nostalgia Critic for this one.

  • Luke is in Season3...........as a walker...found his way to Howes and bit Clem's finger off. Yessss this THEORY really took me all night with charts and graphs.

  • Actually, it barely took over an hour to edit everything together and upload it to Youtube, it's really not that hard. The problem is I shouldn't have even needed to make them in the first place if people would just get over it.

  • Christ, this community is awful at accepting the deaths of certain characters.

  • And they won't because they care too much for beloved video game characters who don't even exist in real life. People who think Lee is alive should see that Job confirmed Lee was dead:

  • Right. Good writing, bad theories.

  • Stop. Just stop.

  • Um, you flat out saw Luke die in No Going Back. I think it's safe to assume that he's not going to show up in Season 3.

  • Dayum, Luke's been lifting, huh.

Seriously though... Looks stiff to me.

  • Studies by top scientists have shown that drowning can kill you.

  • No chill considering Luke is under icy water....
