the walking dead season two

I am wondering Did really Jane liked and cared about AJ from starting?

Comments

  • She doesn't care. She only does for Clementine

  • No she didn't.

  • I dont think she ever really cared about the baby especially

  • Well, she cared enough to:

    • Save Rebecca and Clementine - which in turn saved AJ.
    • Open the shop on the Observation Deck for Rebecca to give birth to AJ.

Those are before AJ actually debut, but then there's:

    • Jane taking care of AJ at the house, she looked after him whilst Clementine was asleep and Kenny was getting the vehicle to work.
    • Jane protecting AJ from the blizzard.
    • Jane put AJ in the car - if she didn't care about AJ at all, she could've just left him in the blizzard/on the ground and/or pretended that she lost AJ accidentally.
  • While all of those are true, you do need to take into account Jane cares heavily for Clem and knows that if she caused any harm to AJ, Clem would most likely despise her, thus ruining the relationship they built. I really saw no indications that Jane, herself, had any actual care for AJ considering her actions in the climax of the season.Though, that's just my interpretation of things and you may very well look at things differently.

In addition to that, when Jane is talking about her Howe's plan one of the reasons she uses the most is that they know that there's baby formula there, that can keep AJ fed and alive.
When they reach Howe's the first thing Jane checks is the formula Bonnie talked about. This may have saved AJ's life again and it also shows that Jane cares about the baby's wellbeing.

But what do we know? Jane is obviously a demon that wants to kill babies and pregnant ladies!

  • Jane care about aj that right no one can see that just the people who have a mined but the people who didn't see that they just selfish they only want to see that what they want to see jane was there for the group more then Kenny was

  • Maybe a little, only because he is a baby, the living sign of hope these days. Anyway her focus has Always been Clem.

  • She is envious of babies and pregnant ladies.

That makes sense. Still giving up on a baby?

  • Nah, I think she wouldn't give up on AJ after living with him a while, if that's what you're asking.

  • I think Jane cared about AJ if only because of Clementine caring about him. Jane dosn't hate AJ or anything like that. He just goes against her whole pragmatic view on life, but bears with it. Jane is not some monster, but says and does some incredibley dumb things that even she regrets immediately after. Considering she apologizes after every incident that seems inhumane.

  • Nope she didn't. She's just obsessed with Clem and wants her to replace her dead sister.

I never said she was a technically a bad person, just that in my view, her desire to help AJ isn't because she cares for him, but because she cares for Clementine. I mean, Jane's been shown to be a cold character and clearly doesn't have a maternal bone in her body, so her not being head over heels in love with AJ like Kenny isn't that shocking for me, nor does it make her evil in anyway.

In addition to that, when Jane is talking about her Howe's plan one of the reasons she uses the most is that they know that there's baby for

  • I can agree with this. Your view, in my opinion, is the best interpretation of her feelings towards AJ so far.

  • You might wanna work on that title , pal.

As someone who hates Jane and considers her to be a dangerous sociopath , I'd say she cares slightly as much as the average person would.

After all, some of the few standards she has is an inclination to help those who clearly aren't capable of helping themselves and killing only those who she feels has wronged her. A baby would fit in perfectly with those rules and thus, she shouldn't want to hurt it. Plus, she does genuinely care about Clementine and Clementine most likely cares about him, so even more reason to help him.

And I never said that you are apart of the group who unreasonably demonizes Jane just because she opposed their favourite characters at some point during the series and blame her for every single thing they can find. So no, that last statement wasn't really directed at you.

But talking about your point that she only helps AJ because she wants to appease Clem, I think it's pretty baseless. We never see Jane sugarcoating her opinion on people that she dislikes to Clem, even when Cle has a strong relationship with said person. Even if Clem likes Rebecca she will still point out that she being pregnant might mean trouble. Even if your Clem is Sarah's friend she will still tell Clem that she thinks she's not savable anymore. Even if Clem is Kenny's BFF she will tell Clem that he's losing it and that they should leave him.
In addition to that, she even expresses being uncomfortable around AJ in front of Clem. I'm sorry, but Jane is pretty honest with Clem. Even Clem will mention it in episode 4 if you chose to say to Luke that you like her.

Oh and btw, the first thing Jane asks after Kenny fixes the truck and the group has to figure out a plan, is how much food the baby has left, showing concern for his safety and wellbeing.

  • Ok here we go again. I've needed to say this for awhile plz take no offence. I feel like the end of S2 got f'd up! If you look at the final ep on paper.... it seems legit enough. The flow seems fine to me(naritively speaking) so what am I saying? Jane cared she was'nt heartless. She was portrayed as a very loud grandstanding idiot! But heartless no. She cared no doubt, in my mind atleast. Still part of me feels like she had a death wish! She'd rather die than be civil? Or at the very least, not use a child as bait. Her plan was never gonna work. She knew it. Course Wellington seems like a bust as well now! Soooo....

  • I believe she only cared for AJ for the sake of Clementine, cause she knew by not doing so Clem would despise her and get on her bad side. I think she may of had an agenda.

  • Oh, I'm sorry then. Well, she really thought that having a baby in that situation was na awful idea. But she agreed with that eventually, mostly because of Clem of course.
