Mods also take into consideration the past actions of users when banning them (I assume) which leads to their decision. They also do give warnings such as "Please settle down" or "Don't start dumb arguments." But if one continues to do so they'll get banned for a longer amount of time. I learned the hard way
Though perma bans for those reasons are a little over the top. But trust me, complaining about how bans are corrupt wont make the situation better. Just wait it out.
I believe that the banning system might be twisted.
Of course, one can't know how the inner system works, but I believe it would be unfai… morer for somebody to be banned without being talked about their behavior beforehand and be put in probation. The person should have a chance to understand why what they did is considered inappropriate and a chance to refrain from acting that way, instead of having a time-out and repeat that behavior in the future because they're mad.
And, in my opinion, permanent bans under the same context that I mentioned above are plain cruel, especially considering that you will never know the reasoning behind said ban. This leaves space for a corrupt moderator in a given forum to make decisions in their own benefit.
For the record, I am not breaking the guidelines with this comment, so it should not be hidden nor eliminated from the thread nor my profile.

As Dont_Look_Back mentioned we take past comments and incidents into consideration when issuing a ban, often we will flag comments from users and they will be notified in their feed which should be seen as a warning not to post things like that, sometimes we also issue public warnings in threads which should be read and followed.
When warning flags get ignored and users consistently post insulting comments we will issue a timeout if needed.
This is not aimed at you directly but the first rule of the Forum Guidelines is respect and we don't tolerate insults towards other users on either the public forum or via private messages.
1.1 R-E-S-P-E-C-T! We're all here to have fun, so be cool to each other. Always behave respectfully towards other community members, moderators and Telltale team members. Insults, hate speech, platform wars… leave it out. Constructive criticism of another user's opinions or actions is OK, but refrain from insulting users/volunteer moderators/Telltale staff members themselves - whether directly or in passing. If you feel especially slighted by another forum member, use the "Flag" button to report their comments to moderators instead of shooting back!
I would also like to remind people not to talk about banned members during timeout.

Aww man, you're comparing us to the Youtube comment section? Well, that's not good. But hey, just tell your friends to be careful of what they on here. They may say things that are against the rules which can cause them to be banned on this website. Yes, we have the right of freedom of speech; however, we have to respect one another as we like to be respected. I hope you don't leave. You're part of the TellTale forums family!

I won't leave as long as my last friend that isn't on Steam dosen't get banned.
If he gets banned, I will kill you all.
Okay, I'm not … morereally gonna kill all of you, but I have a hit list. And a lot of people here are on it!

I will, until I'll finally be able to get behind them while they're posting something on the forums, and then snap their stupid necks, and then feed their bodies to my dogs!

Trust me, he deserved it.
Also mods write the ban reason in the ban message.
Sigh
Oh, one more thing: stop spamming my feed. It's getting on my nerves.
It was a music video called Peanut Butter by Rupaul. Just know that there was a lot a jiggling going on.
I need to bleach my eyes now.

I wonder if the idea for banned users to be able to talk to mods was ever implemented.

New mile marker for me.

That is really edgy man. Don't pull a Kill Bill.
20,001. Congrats!
If it makes you feel better, you're not on it
Well, I hope not! The people who make you angry: ignore them. That's the best advice I can give you.

Please don't pool us all together then act like a special snowflake.
I am happy to be aware of this, @OzzyUK!
