Also, seem like E2's original name was going to be Don't Look Back, and E3 In Cold Blood. These are better names than the ones se got!
Ed… moreit:
Also, judjing by the image of Lee at the right of the E1 slide, at the beginig there was going to be a flashback. It says 'Goo... ' I'm asuming that is suposed to be Goodbye. So sad.
Aaaaaalso in the slide of E3 you can see a shadow over Clem and Rebecca, and it looks like it has crossbow in its hand, that is probably Troy.
In the slide of E1 Clem seems a lot more pissed and is holding her shoulder, maybe she got shot then?
I don't see shit in the E2 slide.
I thought there was a interview with one of the writers of season 1 when he got interviewed about S2 if I remember HE said he wrote a story arc for season 2 in a hurry before he left Telltale to start his own company. According to him when he played or watched season 2 he only recognised two things in the game he wrote.
Uh what?? Episode 2's name was Don't Look Back then changed to A House Divided? Not even I knew this.
Edit: Also, in the first slid you … morecan see her holding her bicep instead of her forearm. Maybe she was supposed to get injured in another way instead of the dog bite.
Edit 2: There's also a shadow over Clem and Rebecca in the third slide. Probably Carver.
More like an aborted arc, since the beginnings of it was still in Episode 2.
It's still one of the many gripes I have with how her character arc itself ended, especially since I realized they even left a literal Chekgov's Gun in place for it.

I personally think its because a lot of people reacted so badly to the cabin group
Why is that exactly? I can at least understand Rebecca, Nick, Carlos, and, to a lesser degree, Sarah, but why are people so hung up about the Cabin Group?
I guess they just wanted a couple of characters people could just like.
Which creates a few other problems, but hey! Also, what do you mean "a couple;" were there more than two?
I agree, I never really understood why the writers didn't take this direction.
I personally think its because a lot of people reacte… mored so badly to the cabin group, even by the end of the season a lot of people still hated them for locking clementine in the shed, I guess they just wanted a couple of characters people could just like.
Honestly the whole lake/river thing was mainly a joke on my part. But I still firmly believe that the whole intention of that scene is that it was too large of an area to go around, at least not very quickly.
They could have done with a better reason to cross it right then and there, though. Maybe have all the gunshots from the firefight earlier brings a herd of walkers down on them, making them have to cross it in order to get away from them? Also makes Arvo's running off more justifiable.
"Downtown"
Rest In Plot Hole
2014–2014
Also, isn't the lake a river, @Deltino? I know I've asked this three freaking times, but it seems to fit the topic.
With the Carver appearance; In the "Next Time on The Walking Dead" bit form All That Remains it's Troy's model being used for Carver, but they were changed in-between episodes.
The only things I can remember that would have changed the plot is that Luke was going to live and they scraped the idea of the 400 days cha… moreracters having a big role in s2.
Also Clementine was supposed to lose her hat (I assume when she fell in the river) and then Sam (the dog) has the hat. Carver was supposed to be skinny with a 'stache (almost like Kenny's ugly brother.) I'm sure there is more I cant recall at the moment. Those are smaller things though.
There is a boatload of unused audio files. Not much in the audio that would point to a major change in the plot, but I could dig them up if you want and post them.
Besides, A House Divided just sounds cooler than Don't Look Back, if you ask me.
In Cold Blood, on the other hand, is a pretty badass name that really fits with a lot of the content and themes of episode 3, moreso than In Harm's Way, and I hope they use that episode name in S3.
"A House Divided" is more fitting than "Don't Look Back" for the second episode of Season Two, though.
Don't look back to what—the introduction of the new cast?

I like all the parts of S2 . To me its how those parts were put together that falls a bit flat. Call me silly, but I like it! As goofy and mad libbed as it can feel at times. To be fair S1 is a hard act to follow.
I think a lot of ideas were probably thrown around, some making it a little further than others before eventually getting scrapped. Mike bei… moreng one of the guys that attacked Christa sounds kinda lame in my opinion and i'm glad they didn't go through with it. Clementine would never willingly be part of the same crew as someone who caused Christa to be seperated from her.
That would be Sean Vanaman. He's a big reason I think Season 1 was so successful (he gave everyone, even unlikable characters, the benefit of depth, as he described why he liked writing Lilly as a character). I believe he was asked to help draft some of the characters and plot for season 2 before he went off to start his own company (the creators of firewatch), one of his characters being Sarah.
It's why I think Sarah's arc stated off with so much promise only to flatline later - a sympathetic character writer left a "liability"character in the hands of a writing team that didn't respect "liability" characters.

do you have link to interview? if its true, thats really disrespectful from telltale. sean is the reason twd game is so successful. if s1 wasnt so good, no one would even know this game exist. writing in s2 was awful compared to s1 and i hope they get new writers for s3.

Ok, I know I said I'd get into this at some point but I might as well do it now.
I've heard that Amid the Ruins was handed off to different writers with different ideas at some point and now I know it was apparently deeper than that. I couldn't shake the feeling that Kenny and Jane may have been added to the story specifically to draw attention away from and eventually replace the Cabin Group. And, for me both generally and personally, Sarah was the most egregious example of that.

I remember this too. A lot of people didn't really catch it. It was one with Mike's va too. It is true what he says. I've seen that interview. But I don't know where to find it too.

sean vanaman starts at 1:34:02 however the first walking dead is 2:15 something

If what you say is true, then it would explain quite of a lot about why I felt so disappointed with Season 2, especially with the treatment of Sean Vanaman's characters that were used in the final product.
To be bold, I felt that Sean Vanaman's departure was one of the reasons why the quality of Season 2 didn't live up to its predecessors, especially with how the Cabin Group and Carver were hyped up to be the main focus of the story, only to all be unceremoniously killed off with no payoff whatsoever, and how the narrative had felt lacking in terms of the journey from beginning to end, and the depths and reasoning behind the character's motives and behaviors.
I felt that the writers of Season 2 have missed the point with how the characters should be treat by the narrative with an unbiased mindset. Instead, they had characters either killed off for shock value, or to appease to a certain group who've been wishing for their deaths to occur come the next episode without giving these characters a chance to carry off a satisfactory payoff for their character development process. If we're not meant to feel connected with the characters' struggles and motivations in the story, then what's the point of reading the story to begin with? I'd imagine seeing characters existing just to die over and over would get boring fast.
In the end, Season 2 felt shallow and passionless when compared to its predecessor...at least, that's how I feel.

Thank you so much for digging this up! It honestly makes me kind of sad in a way. I didn't think Season 2 was awful. In fact, I kind of liked it. I just thought it was disappointing. I wonder what it could have been if he never left or if they stuck to his ideas.

There was the account of Mike's voice actor saying in an interview that Mike was originally supposed to be Ralph, one of the guys that corne… morered Christa by the river, which is why their models look so similar. Somewhere down the line, telltale decided to scrap the idea, slightly modify Ralph's model, and make him a new character.
Personally I wish they kept Mike as Ralph. It would have helped that theme of gaining trust, make his betrayal more poignant, and possibly give us a clue to Christa's whereabouts.
So I've got to ask; who is that in the Amid The Ruins slide? I've heard it's Eddie but he wasn't featured due to the 400 Days cast getting their influence and appearances cut down to basically nill.

I prefer A House Divided over Don't Look Back to be honest.

She's holding her bicep in the screenshots for All That Remains, even in the newer episode slide. She was definatley injured another way originally.
I am personally offended.
Her facial expression also changed. She looks mad in the original slide and scared in the new one.

I also noticed that the original Amid The Ruins slide is identical to the PC/PS3 version.

Looks like a zombie to me. You can see an arm next to the left of Clementine. Looks pretty zombie-ish.
I know haha. I actually totally agree. I was just jokin' around.
Don't worry, Don't Look Back sounds better to me.
Maybe but all games/stories end up with big changes, this just seemed like they had no real plan.
I bet Luke never played Professor Layton.

Damn
"Don't Look Back" is a better title for Episode 5 to me though lol
Better than "Better To Sleep?"
I am offended now.
It's Better To Sleep so we can wait for Season 3 no?
(?) BetterToSleep noticed that you avoided the question.
Ugh um Greg Miller interview
I would love to if I remember it was even a discussion on the forums long ago and the writer got 1 hour interview if I remember correctly.
