Characters you felt or feel disdain for...?

As a follow-up to my last discussion and as recommended to me by @DabigRG, I've decided to ask who are the characters you couldn't help but feel disdain for? The characters you disliked, the characters you found yourself wishing death upon, those you prayed had never entered the series and felt strong contempt for.

Whether they're villains, minor characters, or even the main heroes/protagonists seen throughout the 2 seasons, 400 days and Michonne, let me know who they are down below in the comments and be sure to explain your reasoning as well.

Thanks for reading.

There's pretty much no characters I truly hate or dislike in this series, in all honesty.

Except one. Danny St John. Just fuck that guy.

He's one of the only characters that as far as I'm concerned has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and doesn't even have any funny lines or an entertaining personality to make up for being an asshole, like Larry or Randall do. He's one of the few characters that really got under my skin when I first played the game, and I really don't regret killing him at all. I only regret that Clementine had to see it.

larry, couldn't wait to kill him ,lilly that bitch willl get whats coming to her if shes in season 3,and if i ever see that old fuck vernon hes gonna wish the cancer had got him, when im through with him, mike,Bonnie, arvo, theres a special place in hell for them.I also enjoyed jane and carvers death immensely, i hope that ill be able to see jane as a walker in season 3 to have the option to kill her myself. that fat bitch norma and that skinny piece of shit Randall i enjoyed their deaths as well.oh yeah and those fucking cannibals from the St john farm, yeah fuck them to. lets not forget that bitch who tried to rob clemetine in the bathroom what was her name Michelle, and last but not least of the people i hate, the stranger not only did this crazy fuck harrass us at every turn but he also got lee bitten if only if there was an option to torture him.

For me, not even that is enough. Credit where it's due though, he's probably one of the most unsettling characters in that regard. Some people might say he's over-the-top creepy, but I think he's a pretty good example of someone that's actually disturbed.

  • S2 Kenny

S1 Kenny was the best written asshole ever AND I LOVED TO HATE HIM! But in S2, I could only think DAMMIT, TELLTALE, HE SHOULD HAVE DIED OR BECAME CARVER, NOT THIS SHIT.

  • For me it was Carlos from season 2! Everything about him felt wrong to me. At first I thought he would be the Villian of the game. And through alot of the early chapters, I still felt that way. His treatment of Sara made me hate him even more. What's messed up is the fact that I like Carver far better! Here's the rub, I hate Carver! But to be frank about it , Carlos is a horrible, doctor, father, and a chicken s@#$! Clem's hat has more backbone. So does Sam the dog! Hell the frisbee has more! And we all know Clem does. The only reason I wanted Carlos alive was Sara. I just wish he was alive for her death so he could see how wrong he was! His fate was well deserved in my view!

  • Larry and Randall. With Larry I can at least appreciate what he brought to the game and his rivalry with Lee. With Randall, I can't even do that. He wasn't in the game for long enough, his rivalry with Michonne wasn't nearly as interesting as Larry's rivalry with Lee and in the end just ends up getting himself killed in a really dumb way.

Carver: After he killed Walter, and a second time after he killed Reggie

Jane: When I found out her plan for Kenny

    Michelle(Most Hated): Poor Omid...

  • What makes me even more ticked is his name. Carlos, that's my name in Spanish! So that's Charles in english, for those not in the know. Now that I'm thinking about it, I hate every character with my name. Not sure what that says exactly, but its most likelt to not be good!

I could start a long argument about this considering Lilly is one of my favorite characters and the one I felt identified the most, but those arguments always end with someone banned or a closed thread so I'm just gonna say a really disagree with this specific opinion and I'll grab my popcorn to see how other people argue about this next.

Reggie:I didn't like his voice but what a waste of space in the storyline that should've been used for Nick or someone else in EP3 and he dies no matter what. I don't see the point of his story besides letting Carver looking evil -_-

Russell: I thought he was oké in 400 days... Now he just looks like a douche and what a waste like again his screen time could've been used for the other characters and maybe he appears in S3 but I don't know for now he looks like a douche

Carver: Do I really need to explain this, he started of smart and interesting in EP1 and EP2 and made players doubt their trust in the cabin group just in a short time. but in EP3 he turned into some kind of Satan with all his interesting qualities gone in a flip. He acts like this untill he met his end by Kenny and the only thing I could think was ''wow... That was sooo disappointing''.

Bonnie: 400days = sure I'm oké with her and than S2 happened enough said...

Kenny: I was always oké with Kenny in S1 but Season 2... Never ever have I wanted to see a character die that I was oké with so fast (Besides Lucy Stillman). He doesn't listen, he acts more before thinking, I could hardly disagree with this guy BECAUSE TELLTALE DIDN'T LET ME. He got shoehorned in my throat: Clem go talk to the guy there are no words to describe this in anyway possible and here comes to fun part... those % of the players choice this and that had mostly to do with Kennys choices SERIOUSLY he could've been the lead character anyway and now I wish he stayed death in S1 instead of his fanfic survival fanservice same story arc from S1. I was just smilling when Janes knife hit him!

Jane: I thought she was oké in EP3 and than EP4 happened... And EP5.... There are many reasons why I don't like her but there is one thing that keeps going back into my brain about her everytime I see her fighting with Kenny...

Arvo: your sister was a walker but hé I can't say shit and wants me dead. Than sends everybody to a river and starts running over the ice and almost got everyone killed. Than Mike for some dumbass reason or Bonnie or maybe both they are stupid anyway and let him walk around with a freaking gun SURE let him walk around with a gun while Kenny slaughtered his entire group and got us and AJ almost killed. Even if you want to stop Kenny from beating him up Arvo still hates you AND HOW COMES OVER LIKE A EVIL BEN!

Mike: Reasons I mentioned with Arvo.

Carlos: I blame him for his daughter not letting her learn how to survive and I blame him for everything that happened to Sarah besides TT not giving a shit about her character fuck you Carlos!

    Troy: Evil and dumb.

I can make a list let's just say I disliked most of the characters in S2

Nice to see my suggestion is workin out for ya! Probably shoulda did this in the first place instead of spending 5+ days ranting about Jane. Speaking of which:

Jane is one of the very few characters I can say I truly hate. Major reasons include:

    • Trying to convince Clementine to abandon most of her friends and group members.
    • Insisting that Sarah would get herself killed because "she's just like my beloved sister Jaime(may she rest in peace)", yet ended up being the one ultimately responsible for setting up the 2nd death and having the nerve to duck around any real responsibility or consequences for it by slipping away and feigning remorse.(Though, to be honest/fair, that seemed like it could've been partially genuine and you can just blame that on * shudders * bad writing.)
    • Jumping and threatening Arvo, which causes him to come back with his group looking for payback and causes the events of Never Going Back, where everything completely goes to shit
    • Constantly ducking and dodging taking responsibility and facing the consequences.
    • Having the blood of at least three characters who would be innocent by her own standards on her hands
    • Dragging down and condemning two of my favorite characters
    • Endangering the life of a minor just to prove a point (Three even!)
Almost getting herself killed by the breaken asshole she *intentionally provoked(if you shot Kenny, which I did on my first playthrough)
*Ultimately corrupting at least two characters who were still good enough to be considered heroes(YMMV)

Carver was a Big Bad that should've played a more active role, but ended up being a corny predictable villain, especially in Episode 3. Literally the moment I first saw him, I immediately got "Social Darwinist," which fits well into this genre but there wasn't much else outside of that. The idea that some actually preferred and sided with him over the Cabin Group is a bit odd.

Carlos was an obvious unintentionally unsympathetic example given his lack of worthwhile redeeming qualities outside of his protectiveness of Sarah and later Clementine. However, I've since grown accustomed to his faults and made my peace with him (mentally of course, since he's kinda parking lot food). He served his purpose fairly well, which is more than some can say for a few other characters.

Justin, the entitled jerk who remorselessly admitted to lying in court, is definitely** the** top contender for most unlikable character in 400 Days. The guy practically put on a t-shirt saying "Buy my Mother: Professional Backstabber at your service" with his dialogue. He wasn't making the choice of Vince's scenario any harder, not helped by when he brings Danny's charges up when you point the gun in his direction. Which felt like one of those cheap "but at least I didn't get arrested/charged for doing X" things, to be honest; though, Danny did look kinda creepy and seemed to like teasing people, at least he seemed legitimately noble and clearly cared about his fellow man. So, while I wouldn't completely trust either of them with a gun despite being fellow convicts, that especially applies him!

Randall is a progressive example: at first, I didn't know what think about him and he eventually became composition of Nate, Carver, and Troy. From his strong authority vibe, to his patronizing small-talk with Michonne and Sam, and his twisted respect for Michonne in particular, he was an entertaining antagonist at first. However, he crossed the line and never looked back when he blew the relatively peaceful and innocent Mr. Fairbank's face in half while his back was turned, proudly bragged about to Sam and his little brothers' faces, and then went on to earn his determinate death and turning when he gave Michonne, who he knew lost her daughters, this speech about how he'll murder James and Alex in excrutiating detail from prior experience.

Brie is an example that's mostly my fault: I panicked when I met Vernon for the first time and said I had medicine when I didn't. So, later that night, when everyone who gathered in Crawford and were assigning their roles, Brie refused to speak to me about much. I was kinda meh on her beforehand, but this upturned nose behavior made me dislike her enough that her unusually brutal death didn't really bother me. However, I do feel bad that Vernon lost her in the process,

  • Even if he had a sad backstory, I had the strong urge to stab the mysterious stranger repeatedly.

    You don't get it, man.

You just don't fucking GET IT.

  • it's calling him a dick because he is compensating for being a pussy. a bit more abrasive than dick, which is more abrasive than jerk. assholes are people that are dicks that don't do it for a cause. so one could be a nice asshole, but not a nice dick, though being an asshole still isn't good.

  • the only 2 living people on my kill at first sight list is Arvo and Lilly.
    Shoot on sight:
Lily I like as a character, but she grew increasingly hard, then she snapped and killed an innocent (carly) in cold blood because she pretty much wanted her dead.
Arvo was twitchy when encountered at first, while attempting to steal from his group (hiding medical supplies), so he had his gun taken away and sent on his way (quite a kindness really). So he makes up a story about clem and jane stealing from him (most likely a writing snafu, i think it has been patched based on what is written on the wiki) to get his group (whom he was stealing from when you met him) to kill your group. exiling him would be what he deserved at this point (like Lily), but he then went on to shooting clem while escaping despite not having any reason to.

    Exile:
    Bonnie is on hard exile.
Carver's Group (minus Mike) would take some pretty good convincing to be allowed into the group.
Cancer support group for tricking and stealing from the group.

    Distrust:
Jane for her actions in the final episode.
Mike for being spineless during arvo's escape, though he clearly wanted to do the right thing.

    Like:
    Molly
    Christa

most everyone I am pretty neutral with, or they are dead. if they are dead and i felt they should die, then they got what was coming to them and all is forgiven (but not forgot). if they are dead and i like them, then they are to be remembered and respected but not dwelt upon.
