They probably got eaten by walkers because Andy was messed up by Lee and he was not able to move , Danny was stuck in the animal trap so probably he got eaten pretty quickly
and if they returned I will change my mind and kill them lol

The Walking Dead season 3: Telltale boss confirms cameos from 'very well known' comic characters

Telltale's third season of The Walking Dead begins later this year, two years on from the conclusion of season two. It marks a significant shift in the series, acting as both a continuation of the story and a new entry point for players who haven't played before.

Head of Creative Communications Job Stauffer discussed this and more in an interview with IBTimes UK conducted at Gamescom 2016. Most notably, he confirmed that "very well-known" characters from the comic book series, which these games run parallel to, will appear in the upcoming third season.

"As we get into this third season, it does start butting up against where the comics are now," said Stauffer. "Geographically we're very much closer to Virginia, and that does open the door... we will be seeing some characters from the comics, more highly integrated with this third season.

"We experimented with that in our mini-series earlier this year, The Walking Dead: Michonne, but as we go into season three – focusing on characters from the games – the door is open and we will see very well-known characters interacting with [protagonists] Clementine and Javier."

He did not offer any indication of who these characters would be.

Asked what fans can expect from season three, Stauffer discussed the changing themes of the series as it extends further from the initial viral outbreak which brought about its zombie apocalypse, as well as the addition of new character Javier.

"The themes of The Walking Dead are largely the same through and through. They've evolved over the hundred plus plus issues of the comics; themes of family and loss and the darkness of humanity that comes with restructuring society," said Stauffer.

"With Walking Dead season one, the themes were reflective of the earlier issues of the comic – the immediate outbreak, the loss of family and trying to stay together, and just survival. Then with the second season we explored smaller societies and smaller groups trying to get humanity rolling again.

"So for the third season – we haven't actually officially announced a title for the season yet, it may not be called Season Three – it is both a continuation of the first two seasons as well as a new beginning entirely. So, you'll be playing as two different characters. One is Javier, a Cuban American who is dealing with a lot of loss and a lot of issues with his own family and trying to find them, and he meets a young teenager named Clementine, who we know from the first two seasons.

"So whether you've played the first two or not, you'll be introduced to Clem and learn about her through Javier, and you'll also play as her. If you've played the first two, your story will be completely tailored to you based on the decisions you've made in seasons one and two. The door's open for new audiences but it also services the millions of players who played the first seasons."

Discussing the themes of season three in greater detail, he said. "Thematically, we're at an era where it's so many years into the apocalypse that it's not just about small groups trying to get society back up and running, it's larger groups and larger factions. People trying to figure out how to communicate with different communities, how does the mail work, how does commerce work, how do we get society back up and running in this new world, this new frontier of... 'What is America now, what is the world now, after the apocalypse?'."

Telltale Games released the first episode of The Walking Dead in April 2012, and by the time season one finale 'No Time Left' was released in November that same year, the game and Telltale's style, had become the biggest talking point in the industry.

The success of season one led to big changes in Telltale, which has continued to grow ever since. They've now released games based on Minecraft, Batman, Game of Thrones and Borderlands, with a second season of The Walking Dead released across late 2013 and 2014.

One thing i found interesting was him stating that "we will see very well-known characters interacting with [protagonists] Clementine and Javier." so it looks like some comic characters could play a important role in the story, personally i hope it's one of the smaller characters to give them some screen time rather than it being Rick or another major character.

I think this is how the comic characters would come into play in the story. It would make sense given how "society" works in the comics right now. I do wonder if we're going to see some of the "bad" factions as well. It would be kind of cool to fight them around the same time the other groups do (especially if I could kill a couple heh).

As for which comic characters, "very well-known" makes me think of main characters, not your Pete's and Siddiq's. I'm not sure if they'll do Rick himself, maybe Maggie, but I would think Andrea or Jesus are more likely. Dante, who is one of the newer main characters would be awesome too. Magna? Dwight?

Whoever it is, I doubt we will see one of the faction heads immediately, probably would see people like Dante who do surveying and the like.

Note he does say "Geographically we're very much closer to Virginia, and that does open the door...", but he doesn't flat out state we are in Virginia. We could be in like Maryland or eastern parts of West Virginia. I do remember that the real world Caprikorn Farms place is in Maryland, so you know.

This makes me wish Kirkman would release that faction map of the D.C. area already....

  • Sounds like characters from Michonne's Mini-Series may even make an appearance like perhaps Sam's family. Ah just gimme Fisherman Pete! Gimme gimme gimme! But I don't honestly know how to feel about this. Cameos from the comics could be a good thing if it blends into the storyline okay.

The community bit sounds interesting too, I'm interested to see where they go with that and the whole communication thing they were talking about with the mail. Maybe communities will talk through paper cups and string XD they need twitter. Or they could send messages via pigeons back and forth like:

'Hey can we come over tomorrow? We need some corn.'

'Fuck off, your group ate all our tomatoes last time.'

Well excuuuse princess me the next time you need any wool for the winter!

'Oh yeah? Well if that's how it's gonna be, no jars of sweet sweet honey for you!'

'I'm sorry please don't leave me babe.'

'Hey stop shooting my birds. Don't think I don't see it's you doing that from over here! I got binoculars bitch!'

    'BABE!?'

God I just hope it doesn't go like the Governor. Often when The Walking Dead's stepped into the community settings before it has worried me a little bit. Hopefully it'll be something new brought to the table and no forced conflicts like the show aaaah. It'd be nice to see a functioning a community without something shitty happening every ten minutes.

And hmmm sounds like Javier gets separated from his family and is trying to track them down when he meets Clementine then. Curious about the 'loss and issues' part though. Doesn't sound like things are going good with his family before they're split up somehow.

I'm thinking the characters we're going to interact with are Magna and her group. Kirkman has already temporarily taken MIchonne away from the story in order to give TellTale some material. I wouldn't doubt that he'd create some minor characters to support the new season as well! Or maybe I'm just making stuff up because I want Yumiko to be included. x.x She looks so badass with that bow!

Javier, a Cuban American who is dealing with a lot of loss

Seems like the Javier has been losing people even before the Season's events. And the broken family and missing relatives are mentioned again.

    Highly doubt Andrea and Rick.

Maybe we might see Glenn again?

  • I don't mean to spoil anything, but a few of those characters are dead, very dead. Dead in the comics, dead in the show, etc.

We're more likely to Andrea and Rick then we are to see many of those characters.

The comics are very far ahead.

Every time I see something new regarding Season 3, I automatically assume that we're getting a release date. But nope. Fuck you, brain. And your high expectations.

  • Everybody else has suffered just as much as Clementine. Who is to say that Javier has been living the great life during these four years of apocalypse?

Of course no one lives a great life in the apocalypse, people die it happens if you were in an apocalypse you would look after yourself and you would try to survive, everyone has gone though a shitty time i dont want to seem harsh but seeing clem go though all that pain and then some guys family dies isnt new you DEAL with it and that is that. Also dont forget Clem is currently 13 years old and before she was 8 9 and 11 when she saw bad shit .

I have a mental picture of a person with your avatar as their face holding a fishing pole reeling in a fish with the head of Pete.

    It's a funny sight.

But I don't think the appearances will be cameos though because it's said that "we will be seeing some characters from the comics, more highly integrated with this third season." I mean, I think some major comic characters will have cameos, but I would think if they are more highly integrated than they will be more than just cameos.

Well, we did just get Deltino and Dojo on board recently, not to mention in the time that passed after Season 2, we also added InGen, CathalOHara, and HiroVoid.

When Season 2 launched, it was just three to four active mods (on top of the new site debuting in 2013, which only gave us extremely basic mod tools at the time). Now that we have more active mods and way better mod tools, I think we'll honestly be fine. Even if not, we have a few more potential names we could ask to join us.

EDIT: Also, with Telltale going back to monthly episode releases, I think the waiting will not be as bad, so people won't get as nutty and anxious during the wait.
