    I'm so happy for you!

  • Black people and Jews do not hide who they are. This is very noticeable, you know. In contrast to the poor people who hide their orientation, and all live in the shadows, not considering himself a free man. Equality? That's it, we are for equality, because homophobics put LGBT-people lower than animals, and don't considering them human beings. Therefore, it is always a joy and happiness to congratulate person with 'coming out', which feels more freely. With that, person still faces the beating or killing by homophobes.

But congratulating you for 'coming out' is the same as congratulating you for being born the way you are. People do not congratulate heterosexual people for being heterosexual, therefore people are still treating you differently for your orientation. People should praise eachother based on their actions, not sexual orientation nor religion nor eye/skin color, doing so feels rather silly.

I'm all for fighting homophobia, but putting homosexual/bisexual people on a podium and treat them as some victims is not the way to change those people's minds. This over exposition and over victimization is promoting the generalization of homosexual people not lessening it. If a person sees gay people being victimized every day on the news, one day that person will start associating 'gay' with 'victim' and that's how that person will start seeing homosexuality from then on.

And jewish people did have to hide their religion.

  • I never said being bi-sexual is a phase. In fact, I said the opposite. I said rather than seemingly seeking approval and garnering validation, just do you and fuck people's validation.

You're bi, congrats. I'm glad you know what floats your boat, but just don't be too quick to seek that same validation for every little thing that brought you self-discovery.

Well, it's quite hard to hide the fact that you are black.

And between the pogroms of the Spanish Inquisition, the Nazi Holocaust, and the wars within their sole state of Israel, I think the Jew's are no stranger to hiding their identity either. That is very noticeable, you know.

  • Maybe because heterosexuals are born with their orientation? And it is "normal". I think it is right to congratulate the person that he overcame the fear, and said in front of all of his secret. It is well done. But I'm always happy to congratulate heterosexuals with their orientation too.

  • Agreed. Perhaps it's reasonable to congratulate somebody on gathering the courage to "come out" to others, but it's pointless to congratulate somebody on having a certain sexual orientation.

I feel like that difference has started a misunderstanding.
