Comic characters that seem to have been left hanging

For those that read the comics you'll know that there are a couple handful of major characters that appear often in the series as well as several handful of minor characters that don't have much more to do with the story than to be background characters that are just meant to fill up space or they serve as plot devices for the major characters. On some occasions the reader can go a year or more without seeing some of these minor characters and you at times begin to wonder if we will see them again at all and if Kirkman still views them as even being still around. Which minor characters can you think of that havn't officially been killed off but we havn't seen them for quite a long while.

The one that comes to my mind currently is Anna. Anna was introduced in the New Beginning volume mainly to begin to develop the storyline of Carl now being a teenager and having a growing interest in girls (which we now know was a precursor to bringing Lydia into the story). She basically just appeared on the page to give Carl a letter she wrote to him before he was going to leave for the Hilltop.

We havn't seen much of anything about Anna since then. I guess she appeared in issue 144 (fourteen issues ago) but I don't remember exactly what role she had in that issue. I'm wondering if we will ever see Anna again.

  • Or maybe he was just left hanging. Figuratively. Or literally? Nah, definitely figuratively. Then again, maybe not. Yes? No. Yes. mmm... nah.

  • I never read the comics cuz i hate reading

  • Sophia. We haven't seen much of her since she and Carl "broke up". I hope Kirkman knows what to do with her character, and I hope it isn't killing her. I think Lydia will end up dying in the war, and Carl and Sophia will grow closer once more.

  • Where in the hell is that other kid that jumped Carl? I feel that he should be trying to get some revenge from that death of his friend.

  • He hung himself to have a good time

  • comics are mostly pictures.

  • Apparently not reading comics is "badass" now.

  • Yeah it will be interesting what happens with Sophia. She has kind of been put on the backburner for now because the comic is in the middle of the Carl/Lydia romance story. I also though think this Lydia thing is just temporary and something will happen to her that takes her out of Carl's life (be it dying or simply growing apart) and Sophia will be the one that Carl gets ZA married to.

Kirkman seems to be setting it up like that to. Carl and Sophia's foundation seems to be based on something much more solid than Carl and Lydia are (which is just two horny teenagers wanting to screw).

  • All the kids introduced in the comic who are still alive.

  • He got smart and stayed out of the way, or his parents did and forced him to.
