Surely Kenny/Jane could survive the whole of season 3 if they are in the game?

  • Oooh, okay. You mean Luke 2.0: Cuban Joel Edition!

Unfortunately, I think that may just be for the best given what happened with Season 2. Plus, Javier is actually playable, so I'd imagine he'd have an actual story of his own to tell, so he automatically takes priority.

  • I must have missed that tidbit. Where can I find more about Javier?

  • so as long as they are both not the main focus of the story that is meant to be about Clementine and Javier, at least what is advertised thus far

I find it highly highly unlikely that Jane/Kenny will be the main focus of the game, eclipsing Clem and Javier when everything points towards most of the screen time being Clem and Javier getting to know each other. Tbh I'm astounded anyone would complain about this, when it most likely will just not happen at all and in fact most are expecting Jane's/Kenny's roles to be quite minimal. Yes, Jane and Kenny somewhat stole the show at the end of S2, but if they were able to somehow steal the show in S3 as well, that would frankly be miraculous as they are both determinant characters, and Telltale's determinant characters have been shown to never really have stolen the show. Logistically speaking it just plain would not make sense for Telltale to engineer the game with Kenny/Jane having more screen time than Clem/Javier when everyone had different endings, including the alone ending.

In addition personally I feel Jane still hasn't had that much development and pushing her too far back into the shadows in S3 would do no service to her. (Heck many have cited their reasons for disliking her from the beginning because they felt her development was too rushed/forced upon them, so yes, I feel her development has had problems.) Although to me she had a somewhat fair character arc in S2, it seems to me that a large number of players aren't even aware she had an arc at all, and that's a problem imo. In addition although I found her endings somewhat satisfactory, Telltale clearly intended to end them as cliffhangers. Missing the chance to develop these endings and Jane's role in them would be a shame and a disservice to the game.

Somewhat?! They made it their bitch and then got in a fight over who deserves it the most.

As funny as this line is, it does pretty much sum up the controversy regarding about Kenny and Jane's role in Season 2.

Do you think those two with Javier will be the next Sarah and Nick?

  • However, I can't imagine the girl being another Sarah, mainly because this girl looks more independen

I hope she knows karate, just, jump and kick a walker straight in the head XD

  • My baby. I will protect it. At all costs.

And I'll be happy for those who like Kenny if he comes back in their version of the game. I do hope that nothing will happen that Kenny will become enraged and possibly hurt others as a result; I do not hate him, per se, but my reason for preferring him away from my Clementine is that he can go mad.

  • I guess they could be. I'm not quite sure if that would be for the best though. I really, really do love Kenny, but if his or Jane's presence were to distract from the overall plot, then that is definitely a problem. As hard as it will be to officially say goodbye, they do have to focus on developing the newly introduced characters versus the old ones.

On the other end of the spectrum, they could receive too small of a role. Both characters, with extra emphasis on Kenny here, have big personalities. I don't want to sit back and see one of my favorite characters live on as a meaningless back-up character with no real role in the story or have their personality dulled down.

I'm pretty sure that the whole flashback thing was recently confirmed, which means they likely will not live through it all. Telltale does need to try to honor the different season 2 endings, but they also need to focus on the future along with the past. I would love to see Kenny and Jane throughout all of Season 3, but I'd prefer them to have a proper send-off instead of a meaningless, dragged on existance at this point.

If Telltale could do something similar to the Carley/Doug choice, then that would be great. In my opinion, this would be the best option. We'd get to see our characters again, and they wouldn't soak up all the screen-time. (Wouldn't it honestly be too hard for them to focus too heavily on determinant characters though? Them receiving too little is more of my concern)I do worry though. I assume that episodes will still be movie-length, and combined with magnifying the Doug/Carley choice to a higher scale, Telltale would have a lot of work set out for them.

Ahhhhh, who am I kidding? If Kenny/Jane could live through Season 3, I would be absolutely ecstatic. The Carley/Doug choice was handled very well in my opinion, and if they could channel that here somehow, I would die. I just don't know if it would be too hard to strike that balance. If it's done well, it's preferable. There just seem to be a lot of obstacles. I have hope though. As Ben once said, "I believe in you!" Give my Kenny-Bear and Jane justice! I BELIEVE IN YOU TELLTALE!!!

  • how is it that nick is REDNECK that when he dies he is still chewing on some kind of gum XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD HAHAHAHAHAAHHHAHA

  • ITS NOT APART OF THE CONVERSATION SORRY ;(

  • I think AJ will be the catalyst for the kidnappers arc. If you're with Kenny, they'll take both Kenny and AJ. If you're with Jane, they'll take Jane and AJ (The family will die prior I think). If you're alone, they'll take AJ and additionally they will cut Clem's finger for resisting.

    Dat's RG! R! G!

I don't know whats with this. Sometimes I can post, sometimes I cant.

Anyhoo, I like Jane but I think I'm running out of patience with this back and forth. I'm willing to sacrifice her for the greater good.

What is the issue with that? I will happily deal with this senseless bashing if it means that I and others can encounter some of their favorite characters once again. Jane, my baby.

  • I don't know if I can take another unexplained disappearance and or another Omid. I don't know what would be the least painful alternative here.

Okay, I keep having hope in Tell Tale but that hoped began to diminish with The Walking Dead: Michonne Episode 3, so I truly hope that they don't just treat determinant characters as dead weight and if they do, give them a good send off, none of what happened to Sarah or Nick - as in illogical or background deaths.

  • Exactly! That's why I'd prefer closure on these characters. Either that or they stay in the game but not have as much focus

  • Hey, at least the determinant characters in Michonne can actually survive

    ...well, most of them

    ...well, technically two of them

...even though one of the two doesn't even get lines after they're saved

but hey, it's the thought that counts, right? I mean, that's still better than what poor old Nick got.

  • Telltale are facing some real problems at this point.

On the one hand, fans love these characters and they will be frustrated if they won't appear in the game after such a big choice at the end of the season.

On the other hand, Jane and Kenny pushed out some other characters from the plot, not giving them time to develop. If Telltale will continue with that, people obviously won't be happy.

So it's a touchy question and I honestly can't answer to your question. Telltale need a good balance in this one.

  • In EP5 if you have Ben with you when Lee has to jump from the bell tower. The characters say random stuff if you go long enough without doing something.

Exactly. Telltale should incorporate the two into the game, giving them somewhat of a role, but nothing overly major or at least where they're not stealing screen time, so the new characters also get the time to develop and grow.

  • Both of them, along with Paige, James and Alex, could make a return in Season Three aka A New Frontier if Oceanside is featured, and that posibility is likely, given that we are in the surroundings of Virginia for a reason.
