Season 3: This Is My Theory
Unless you didn't play or watch somebody else play The Walking Dead seasons 1 and 2, then you won't know what the heck I'm talking about so it'd be best if you play the games for yourself (which is the best way to go, in my honest opinion) or watch YouTubers play it; I recommend Cryaotic, as he actually takes his Let's Plays seriously. Anyways, on with the theory.
So, at the end of Season 2 you were able to choose three five options; Kill Kenny and stay behind with Jane, let Jane die and go to Wellington with Kenny (where you can either stay with AJ or go with Kenny and not stay in Wellington; yes, these count as two more options) or, you can let Jane die and Kill Kenny (or kill Kenny then kill Jane) and go off with AJ by yourself. As of now, none of us know if that was really a critical choice in the end because, judging from the recent Season 3 teaser trailer, you find (or are found by) someone and it seems that you're travelling to find something or someone. The man in which Clementine is with is (I am not sure if this is accurate or not) named Javier. We don't know who he is or how he met her, but either way, we are possibly dealing with a new Playable Character.
One thing I want to mention is that when he says "that one was marked, too." He was referring to the mark on the Walker's left shoulder blade (which, I think, almost nobody caught because it was already hard enough to see it when you're actually looking for it). That same mark (which is a little easier to see, in this case) is on Javier's neck.
We don't really know what that mark is for, but this is my small theory on that - maybe the mark is somewhat like how farmers mark their sheep, to keep track of them. Since Season 3 seems to take place a few (or even just a couple) of years after Season 2, it is possible that there are people who could be conducting experiments to try and find a cure for the virus (and yes, since the game is based off of the comics, it is a virus) or Javier could've been part of some sort of group (like that shitty one that Carver was the leader of in Season 2) and Javier could be trying to find them again, hence why he says "just hold on.". All I can think of is one of those two things.
Oh, and also, what's up with Clementine's finger? I never really saw it until I saw something about it on the internet and when I went to look back, yeah, she's missing her ring finger. What's up with that? Maybe she got bitten (don't ask me how she could've got bitten on the finger; it is possible!) and they had to cut the rest off... I don't really know what to make of that, to be completely honest with y'all. Maybe she got it stuck or something, or someone tried to make an example out of her... Once again, I'm not really sure.
Now, as far as location goes, I can't really tell where on earth (in the states, specifically) they are. You can travel a fair distance in the span of 2-5 years, walking or not.
Now, on to Alvin Junior, A.K.A. - AJ; Aj isn't seen in the teaser trailer, which concerned me the first time I watched it. But later on I saw a screenshot of Clementine with AJ hanging on to her and he appears to be much older and capable of walking, and such. My only question is, how on earth is Aj gonna be able to get around without being in the way? Depending on his age, he can only walk or run for a VERY limited amount of time, due to the fact that younger kids have less energy. He won't be able to shoot a gun, swing an axe or hammer, the best he could do is throw rocks (which wouldn't have much power behind them anyways). Aside from that, there really isn't too much to go off of for AJ.
Now, on to your final choice in Season 2 - I don't know how critical of a choice that was, seeing that you didn't see either Jane or Kenny in the teaser. Then again, I suppose if you saw either one of them and you chose something else, you would probably be confused. I'm willing to bet that Kenny (if you went with him) would be far much older in Season 3, he could quite possible be dead. Jane? She's a survivor, but I don't know if she'd be in Season 3 because she generally prefers to keep groups small and doesn't really like strangers.
Now, on with the unknown fates of characters in Season 1 and 2; We're gonna start off with Lilly. In season 1, there was unused content in which Lilly was actually supposed to return to the group (unless you left her on the side of the road) so there could be a sliver of a chance that she's alive. I'm actually hoping to see her in Season 3.
Christa: We all know we heard a gun shot after Christa told Clementine to run, but what are the chances that Christa could be dead? Think back to Season 1 where Kenny and Ben (I miss the little guy!! ;A;) were trapped by Walkers in the alley. You hear a gunshot and Ben's screaming stops, signalling that Kenny had put the boy out of his misery. We didn't think Kenny made it because he was in a frigging ALLEY with no way out, but WHOOP he's in Season 2. So, maybe TellTale might try to pull another one of those off and have Christa alive. I dunno.
Mike, Bonnie, Arvo: In Season 2 Bonnie, Mike and Arvo's fates were left unknown. There's a chance that Kenny could've shot one of them (or all of them, if he was pissed enough) but other than that, there really isn't much of a chance that they could be dead. They could've made it to Wellington or they could've ran off somewhere else. Quite personally, I'm really hoping that Arvo comes back because I want he and Clementine to sort out what had happened, seeing that Arvo had thought Clementine murdered his sister (Arvo didn't know his sister was reanimated so he thought Clementine shot her in cold blood). I also like the little guy, so I'm rooting for him!!
Everyone from 400 Days; Depending on the choices you made in 400 Days, you could have all or some of the people from that episode in Carver's group. We don't know if they managed to escape or not, but I doubt that they could be dead. There might be a sliver of a chance that we could end up meeting one or some of them (or seeing them as Walkers, depending on where you are...).
Anyways, that's all I really have for this theory. Y'all can leave a comment and tell me what your thoughts are on the upcoming Season 3. Heck, you can even try to smack down my own theories! I'm always up for the challenge!

Same here! Though, I added "attempt to" to that sentiment because, as I just briefly mentioned in the Season 2 Writing thread, the morality was too black and white in those final three episodes and the trio of "setup, execution, and payoff" was a major issue with the Season in general.
I believe that I've commented my Season 3 thoughts/theories, but with new information, they have changed slightly, so here goes:
We will start off the game with Javier. We will play as him alone for the beginning of the first episode. Eventually, we will run into Clementine. At this point in time, Javier is looking out for his own family. (The boy and the girl from the screenshots) However, he feels threatened or has possibly lost someone to this season's antagonists: the branders. I believe that the brand marks are a symbol of ownership from this certain community. Maybe they enslave people and brand them to mark them as their own. In one screenshot Javier does not have the mark, so he likely receives it at some point in Season 3.
Clementine and Javier start off as wary acquaintances, only joining together because of a common enemy. However, they will begin to bond throughout the Season. Unlike in previous relationships involving Clem, they will be friends and equals. As Clem opens up to Javier, we will play out our Season 2 endings in flashbacks. Regarding the endings, I believe that Kenny and Jane are either dead or captured by our antagonists. (If alive, possibly released at end) If this was true, it would clear up why Clementine regards the antagonists as antagonists.
My thoughts on the antagonists are pretty mixed. I believe they will either enslave others to work for their community, or simply brand and punish those that disrespect their laws. Additionally, it would be interesting if they were instead cultists of sorts. I would like them to stay grey despite all this, and have every antagonist have redeeming qualities and relatively explored backgrounds. I don't want anyone categorized as "evil" or "good."
My thought is that if Clementine puts up a fight or is disrespectful towards our antagonists, her finger will get chopped off in an act of torture. This will be determinant.
My finally thought is that Clementine becoming AJ's "Lee" will be explored. With his different age and Clementine's differing struggles, this could be a nice call-back and evolution of Clementine's character without being a Season 1 carbon copy.
This post isn't really a "theory" so much an exploration of causes and possible effects/outcomes and a rehash of what we already know. A theory would involve you supplying what you think will happen......For the record, I don't mean to be rude, it's just that the title is misleading.
My apologies.
Yeah, good point...
low whistle
That's quite the load of theory you got there! I have to agree with you on the majority of it and you make a very interesting case!
Thanks! I liked your thoughts too! I hadn't heard some of the stuff you mentioned before, and I love reading unique ideas.
One thing that I forgot to mention was that the antagonists/branders' community could be called Carprikorn Farms, which is what @BetterToSleep theorized in one of his older threads. If you haven't checked out that thread yet, I'd highly recommend you do. It's pretty much the best thing I've ever read in my life. The thread's on the front page, but here's a link anyways. If someone reads this in the far future, after Caprikorn farms has been confirmed for Season 3, they better click this link and appreciate the Saltlick King that figured it out!
