  • If he did not, then the story would not have been nearly as memorable.

  • I know...just sayin'

If he did not, then the story would not have been nearly as memorable.

  • If Lee didnt die, Walking Dead Season 1 probably wouldnt have been as good.

However it is fun thinking what could have been. What if we still played as Lee during season 2? What would happen? How would it be different?

  • I think Clementine herself has moved on from lee's death more than some of the users on here.

  • I can't really imagine Lee doing anything beyomd Season 1 other than being dead. He served his purpose.

  • It's a video game so yeah, his death made us all very sad and I'm glad the game made me feel something, just because it was sadness it doesn't mean it's necessarily bad.

  • It would have if Clementine had died instead.

If he did not, then the story would not have been nearly as memorable.

  • Clicked on the wrong thing

  • If Clementine had died in his place then yeah, it would have been incredibly interesting to play as a hardened and an emotionless Lee in Season 2.

  • Nah, he had to die, in order for Clem to fully learn what he had been teaching her.

  • This.

  • Am I the only one that's gotten over Lee's death? And also dosen't want him to come back?

I love him and all, but...it's time to finally:

Phase our ponytails through our shoulders?

Also, I'm fine with almost all of the deaths as long as it has a significant effect on the characters or story .

  • I wish it was player determined. That way it would be a more personal experience for the player. TellTale can bring back Lee for players who removed his arm but would they want too is the question? Lol!

  • I would've rather have Lee as the playable character, season 2 would have been a million times better with him. Instead they gave us clementine.... what were the writers thinking when they decided putting a useless little girl as the main playable character in a Zombie_Apocalypse game with such a lazy writting was a good idea?? TWD season 2 it's the only game from Telltale that i hate!

  • He definitely had to die if we wanted 1) a coherent, deep, and meaningful narrative that left a lasting emotional impact, and 2) that same emotional impact to make the game be so successful that it can continue to warrant sequels.

Some people seem to miss the bigger picture over the death of Lee.

It makes the game that much more good and heart wrenching.

Also, its been 4 years, let it go.

  • It should have been determinant imo. As in dead or alive.

  • He didn't have to. But he did. It would've been awesome if he didn't get bit, saved Clem, and got the hell out of Savanah. But, he didn't. It would've been an interesting story if Clem were the one to pass on, instead of Lee. But Lee was the chosen one.

    Imho, Lee lives through Clem.

  • No, he didn't deserve to die at all. But he did, and with it we got one of the most emotionally heavy and most well written scenes ever in a video game. It was a brilliant end to his arc also, and the beginning of Clementine's coming-of-age -story.

  • I think TellTale did an amazing job connecting Lee to the players! Clem was also very well done! However Season 2 would've been better if Lee was the protagonist maybe he could have dreadlocks to show the progression of time. However I did enjoy playing as Clementine.

I agree that Lee's death should've been determinant however it's not to late for TellTale to bring him back for the people who decided to chop off his arm and leave him.

  • Nah, Lee took his arm off to late. The infection had already set in.

  • You mean.
    Clementine: Oh shoot.
Because she forgot everything? heh? am I right? heh, hah.... I'm out.

  • Totally agreed here, but the ending would be less emotional.

  • Bravo! nice comment. **Claps Slowly**

No Lee did not have to die but sadly he did, it is not uncommon for main characters to die even in movies or tv shows much less video games, but that is just reality. Lee served his purpose in teaching Clementine in what she needed to know, it helped her to become strong willed and self reliant which in turn lead her to teach and help others, I think that is the greatest thing Lee could of ever done for her and something we should all take into account.

  • That f---ing sucks man.
WHY DIDN'T HE BRING A GUN WITH HIM!?

Nah, Lee took his arm off to late. The infection had already set in.
