I'm still trying to figure out why a hand-held bomb that has the capability of blowing up an entire city for some reason wouldn't harm the m… moreansion Batman and Alfred are in because it was thrown out of the window.
For this reason, I'd stop the bomb. Cause y'know, Alfred and Batman would be nuclear toast anyway.
If the bomb is strong enough to destroy the city from Wayne Manor window, there's no point trying to save Alfred, as everyone in the mansion will be dead too.

What if, some guys figured out Batman's true identity, shot up Wayne Manor, which ends up wounding Alfred in the fight. Batman defeats all of them, but one of them is still up and about. Bruce grabs the guy, and then the guy tells him there's a bomb all the way on the other side of the city, and he says he has 15 minutes to defuse the bomb. The guy then gives Bruce a medkit. He then says "Your choice, Wayne. Save your butler or save the city.
You then have the choice to save Alfred or Gotham.

Now that I've seen the glory that is Catfred, my choice is clear.
