Moral Question

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but how would you react if Lilly returned?

I feel like I've gone into detail about this before. I'll have to get back to you on that.

Lilly basically admits that not only did she do something terrible, but that she had nothing left if Lee didn't want her around. If you decide to take her along, she tells Lee that she knows she's too dangerous to be around them and the fact that they could do whatever they want to her is messing with her survival instincts and thus, it would be for the best if she just took off and got away from them.

I heard that Kenny's VA apparently mentioned that Lily was supposed to return in No Time Left but didn't for whatever reason.

  • "Everyone deserves a second chance, I believe that. But never a third."

  • Did you give a second chance to Rashid and Vanessa?

Extremely enraged, because I don't want returning characters.

I am somebody who isn't willing to look past major inconsistencies in realism, especially if they are repetitive. No matter how much I care about Lilly and how the plot could benefit from her return, I will turn it away.

  • I'd be pleased, to be honest. I liked Lilly and felt they could've done a lot more with her character before she took off.

  • Whistles inconspicuously.

Did you give a second chance to Rashid and Vanessa?

  • Well, Telltale has mentioned that he'll be seeing 'familiar faces'. And that could mean a lot of things, right? Finding a long gone character (such as Lilly), finding *various long gone characters... or it could just be Telltale confirming Kenny/Jane for Season 3 without really confirming it... Who knows. It's a possibility, though.

As for my reaction, I'd be really happy to see her return. She is my favourite character and she had, and still has a lot of potential. I imagine a scenario where Clem and Kenny meet her. That I'd have to see xD.

Then there's the con. If she ever returns pretty much every Lilly hater will be bitching about the unexistence of a choice to shoot her in the face (a choice I doubt Telltale would ever give the players straight away). But I could get through that : ).

  • I really don't want any characters whose status was left unknown to return in Season 3. It's already been done with Kenny, no need to do it again with someone else.

I'd kill her. I'd do it quick and painless, tho.

  • As Clementine, hopefully we'd have the option to hug her, like we did with Kenny.

  • But why? Wouldn't Clem be afraid/angry at her for killing Carley/Doug?

  • Well, why not? Lilly does kill Doug/Carley but if she is left behind, Clementine still shows concern for her - she was closer with Lilly than with Kenny in Season One, so I don't see why not? Plus remember that Kenny kills Larry right in front of her in the meat locker when she believes Larry might be alive but she still ended up coming around to him in Season Two.

    Yeah, you've got a point.

Well, that's a bit different. Clem and Lee were never really close with Larry, but Clem (and Lee?) were close with Carley/Doug. But I guess it doesn't really change much.
It would be pretty awesome if she did return, but I don't think I'd trust her enough at first to hug her tough.

I wonder how Kenny would react to that... (Her returning, not Clem hugging her)

Was she? I don't recall much other than Carley hanging out with her, Duck, and Ben when the food rations were going out.

  • Oh, so a failsafe?

Maybe a third playthrough is finally in order.

  • Well, I remember Clementine saying that she liked Carley, or she thought she was cool. But I can't remember when, possibly in episode 3.

  • I believe Lilly liked Clementine a lot, nothing said specifically...just little moments. Episode 2 Lilly watching Clementine play soccer a smile of wistful happiness on her face.

Lilly giving Clementine the hair ties.

Thin I know..but then again there is less proof that Kenny and Clementine actually were friends. So I give Lilly the benefit of being friends with Clem and so Clementine would be over joyed to see Lilly, but understandably cautious.

  • Despite my dislike for Lilly, she'd get a chance.

I have to admit, a 4 year Lilly design interests the shit out of me.

  • Sidestepping the obvious prompting here, I always thought of Clementine as very understanding, relatively open to those she feels comfortable around, but also very observant. While Season 2 has her be noticeably melancholic and a bit withdrawn, she was still relatively caring of everyone's feelings and problems.

I would think that seeing Lilly again would send her mixed feelings: on one hand, Lilly was very nice with her and helped look out for her; on the other hand, she also went a little too paranoid after seeing her dad get murdered and killed Carley/Doug on an impulse. So, I think she'd wanna be happy to see her, but the circumstances around her leaving would make things a little uneasy.

  • Really? You wouldn't even think about it, or feel the slightest bit bad?

Nope. I need to avenge my friend Doug.

  • Just erase the [threadnumber] part and part the actual number of this thread instead. Which is apparently 109299

I guess I'm up for avenging Doug. Just not sure if I'm ready to play "Judge, Jury, and Executioner" to do it, even if it is basically what she did. Especially if it is basically what she did.

  • Yeah xD although I'm not sure if it has any consequences, all I know is that when my friend borrowed my copy of the game and played it through, he couldn't save Clementine and Carley did so instead, apparently she says "You didn't save me". Poor Clementine :c
